"Superb" What more can we say. The person who answered the phone was helpful and had great passion in taking our booking and as always helpful. The building is of historical interest . . . but thank God this interior looks and behaves like the wonderful Italian Restaurant it is. Lucios Linguine with clams, it is so good, as are all the other dishes. We and our guests have never been let down. And the bread . . . Stay away from the bread, it is, if you have a bread tooth, like I do, you can’t keep your hands or mouth away from it. Try the Veal . . . Oh my, excellent. The whole kit and caboodle at Lucios is so appealing. The citrus vinaigrette righteous. We eat the whole world over, but it is always a delight to return to Virginia and a drop in to Lucios Restaurant. By the way, the service, speedy, and always flawless Its always a plus to partake of their gastronomical delights. Thank you, Baron & Baroness DeVere-Austin of Delvin.

It was recommended by the B&B owner where we stayed. The meal was unbelievably good! My wife had panko-encrusted grouper, a special on the day we went, and I had the sole in egg batter with lemon butter sauce from the regular menu. Both were superb and the portions were generous. The sole was the best Ive ever eaten, cooked to perfection, it almost melted in my mouth. The grouper was also excellent. For desert we tried an almond cream cake and split it. It was so good that my wife asked if they were open late enough that we could come back later for another piece! We had called ahead alerting them that we had only an hour to eat before we had to leave for a performance at the Castleton Festival, about 40 minutes away. The service was fast, friendly (but not annoying), and we felt we had gotten undeserved VIP treatment. (Cost per person quoted excludes tip.)

Culpeper has a LOT of great restaraunts, but Lucio is my most favorite... Hands down. I think Im there every single Tuesday for their special of angel hair pasta with marinara sauce (and it also comes with a delicious buttery cream sauce mixed in). Sauces are all obviously homemade.. Ive tried to replicate it without any success- theirs is always 100% better. Its a grand slam, outta this world, melt in your mouth, gotta have it every week kind of GOOD. The customer service here is GREAT. Not sure what previous reviewers were talking about... This Restaraunt has a family feel to it, but also with an eclectic elegance-- making it perfect for date night or even a casual lunch with family. If I ever die, fill my casket full of Lucios pasta.... Its what I would have wanted.

I really dont know what restruant some of these reviews were going to however, whenever we have gone to Lucio it has ALSWAYS been the greatest expereince! The service has always been impressive and the food is out of this world! They never BADGER you to order, Never! A party of 14 is not a SMALL goup, this is not a big chain restruant that has massive seating capacity its a intimate restruant residing in a renovated victorian home. Expecting you to pre-order your food is not out of the question for a party of that size, maybe you should go to Olive Guarden if you want to have no attention from the wait staff and the plates are made to order nothing is pre-cooked sitting around waiting. Keep up the great work Lucio, its worth every minute of being there!

Worst New Years dining experience in 20 years. Waitress was hard to understand, took our order, then other busboy people refilled drink and bread while we waited for meal. No sign of her until 25 minutes AFTER we finished meal. She says, "hi how are you doing"? We say, we havent seen you in 40 minutes...she asks..are you done? we say yes with the entree. She then leaves and sends another busboy person to come to our table with the check...thank you and happy new year. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT...average food....BAD SERVICE!

The web page says that the hours on a Friday night are "5:30 -until." Until what? My wife and I went to have dinner that last night (FRIDAY NIGHT) and we roll into the parking lot about 8:30 and the parking lot is empty with a truck running, and all of the dining room lights are off...ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! The place must suck if they were so sure no one in town was going to show up on a Friday night for dinner. We ended up going to Luigis just down the street and it was GREAT!

Lucio is a family owned and maintained restaurant. The food is prepared in traditional Italian style. Delicious. The restaurant has a serene, classic decor that is suitable for business lunch or dinner as well as family/friends dining. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Lucio has specials Tuesday-Thursday. Taco Tuesday, Lasagna Wednesday, Manicotti Thursday. Lucio also caters events.

I was passing through Culpepper a couple of weeks ago to meet some friends and I stopped in at Lucio for lunch. I can honestly say that I had some of the best food at this little gem. I got to meet the chefs as well and I feel like I made some additional friends that day. If you are in Culpepper, do yourself a favor and stop in for delicious food, a great atmosphere, and outstanding service!

Discovered this place one weekend while traveling. Had the apple brandy chicken. It was marvelous. I have dined here several times and have always experienced a great meal. Brett has been my server a few times and he is top notch. Take your time and enjoy a quality meal.

Asked for specialty - server said chicken marsala. It was a breaded chicken patty from Sisco Foods. No flavor. Pasta was edible but nothing special. Hostess and wait staff very nice and helpful. Decor like Christmas. They should have spent the $$ on a chef.

simply the greatest. no other words can describe. NEVER been let down. And incredibly reasonable for the quality of the experience. In NYC, they would charge $50 per person.

Wow, wish I had gone here sooner. Had an absolutely awesome dinner. Need a few more beers on the list but the wine selection was great. Prices too.
