6/30/15 This is at least the second time I have had a VERY NEGATIVE experience while trying to purchase through this "Bakery". I dont normally write reviews, much less a negative one, but this is making me boil!!! Ill preface this by saying that I stop in a few times a week for the salad bar & to talk with some of the friendly helpers like Charles & Frank... but when it comes down to the management... grrr 1. The first time was over a year ago. They had an extraordinarily delicious Chocolate mousse/caramel pie in the display case. I asked to order a full pie & left my name & number. They said sure, no problem! so I said please order. I checked back after a few days and inquired. They said oh no worries it is being made...we will call you when it is ready. A week later I stopped in and asked and they said their chef quit, so it would be another month. I said ok Ill check back. I checked back a month later & still no pie... they had a chef... Then the excuse was that this chef didnt know how to make it. After many more discussions- the lady finally said she would get it in. So a few weeks later I had the exact pie, full & frozen- packaged from the original supplier: probably US Foods source. So my question to her was WHY COULDNT YOU HAVE JUST ORDERED IT A MONTH AGO instead of going through all the sham of making it seem like you baked it. It was delicious by the way thanks to the mfg in Atlanta. 2. Fast forward to current. I told the bakery I would like them to order the pie again- the very specific one that they knew too well. I already knew that 6mths ago they said they were not dealing with that supplier (since that they already know that I know they dont bake it). however they said that they were going to start back with them. And they could have it middle of June. So beginning of June I inquired to make sure the pie would be ordered- they said dont worry, it will be here week after next. (of course I worry due to previous issues). I wait a week and ask the status- they say yes, yes next week it will be here- we have been so busy. (How difficult can it be to place an simple order for a box of pies???) I stop in the next week & they say sorry, we are going to order it it should be here next week. Today IS next week and we inquire about the pie & they now say "NO, SORRY WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET IT... but your can buy it at Wegmans!!!" What a shock. not only are we now, a month later being told we cant have what we have been mouth-watering over... but basically told a lie (because Wegmans doesnt carry it) Your organization (or at least you Albert) really sucks. I appreciate what you do to let disabled workers work for you- but Im sure you are subsidized & pay them very little. So any apparent generosity is heavily outweighed by your inability to provide good customer service. Im sure you normal day to day visitors will come and eat your food that you mostly buy from somewhere else and sell as "freshly baked" but I will definitely rethink my continued support of your establishment.
