On 5/20/16, I went to Matchbox in Loudon One and received the WORST customer service I have ever received in my life. Here is what happened: My boyfriend ordered 2 whiskey gingers at the bar. When we tasted the drinks, it was obvious that it was soda or water mixed with Whiskey instead of ginger ale. I immediately took the drink to the bar stating “Hello, my boyfriend ordered 2 whiskey gingers but they taste like whiskey and soda water.” A guy behind the bar tested the soda gun and realized the tap was out. He responded “ I’ll go change the tap” As he walked away I stated “It’s pretty obvious to see the difference between soda water and ginger ale.” Brandee walked over to me and decided to show me how Soda Water comes out of gun and states “It’s hard to tell the difference” I responded ”They are two different colors.” She responded in a LOUD sarcastically rude tone “How are YOU doing today?” Personally, I just view this as whoever made the drinks was not paying attention. I smiled and walked away because clearly she was getting a bit upset. As I am speaking with my family, the guy comes back from changing the tap and sprays Ginger Ale on top of our existing Soda Water and Whiskey drinks, then goes “Here you go.” My family and I’s mouth drops.. Is that how he remedied a miss poured drink? I grabbed the drinks to avoid any more confrontation with the rude staff. As we sit there discussing this experience, another bartender comes up to me closely on my right side with two “new whiskey ginger drinks” (I did not taste these because I am sketched out at this point) He states “ You shouldn’t speak to her (Brandee) that way. I was the one that made your drinks” I responded “ What did I say?” and he walked away. Well THAT was my tipping point. I am appalled that not 1 person had the courtesy to say “I am sorry” or “we will fix this.”

We recently had lunch here and matchbox exceeded our expectations. The servers were quick, accommodating, and very friendly. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer, the seafood pasta, the crispy chicken sandwich Nashville hot style, a small pig and pepper pizza, and the churros for dessert. The artichoke dip was was flavored well and complimented the crusty bread perfectly. The seafood pasta was delicious, it had a zesty, citrusy tartness that went well with the shrimp and the mussels. The crispy chicken sandwich was superb, it had the right amount of crispiness and the Nashville hot seasoning had just enough kick balanced with a subtle sweetness that was just outstanding. The fries that accompanied it were just ok but it seemed to be relatively bland, perhaps a garlic truffle seasoning would have put it on equal footing with the rest of the dish. The pizza was good, but I was kind of expecting a crisp bite considering it was fairly thin, but the toppings and the crust were on point. The churros were great, maybe on the borderline of too tender because it would break into pieces easily but it wasnt a big deal. The berry and chocolate sauces that it came with were ok, but I found myself just enjoying the churros plain, maybe an addition of a scoop of vanilla ice cream would have completed the dish better. The decor and the outside appearance had a modern, industrial feel that made it feel pleasant to the eye. We would definitely come back to try the cocktails next time, it seems to be a great place to drop by and enjoy some company.

Had a 30th birthday dinner here Saturday, June 10, 2017. They allowed me to drop off giant 3-0 balloons earlier in the day so they would already be set at the table when we arrived. We had a party of 9, and our reservation was originally for indoors, but it was a gorgeous day so when I dropped off the balloons I asked for an outdoor table if possible with that many people and at a popular dinner time. When we arrived, they had our table set up outside! I felt like they easily could have said they couldnt accommodate that, so I was thrilled. It also turned out our balloons popped on a ceiling fan that was outside, so they actually went out a bought a new 3-0 to put at the table. That is excellent customer service - for real. On top of that, the food was DELICIOUS. Our guests really enjoyed themselves. We will definitely be back, and I recommend you give it a shot.

Love the rustic country chic feel of this restaurant. The tucked away seating booths in the restaurant are really nice! My daughter has food allergies. I am so happy to say that the manager Steve was very thorough in making sure her meal was prepared especially for her. He introduced us to chef Eric who is fabulous! We were reassured they would take every measure to avoid cross contamination. They understand allergies. Our waiter Mohammed was very friendly and made good suggestions. The food was very fresh and delicious! They have a great menu selection. Although it was a busy time at the restaurant everything came out on time. I would give the restsurant a 6 star rating if available. Try it you will not be dissapointed. We look forward in going back to try other drinks, appetizers and entrees soon. The staff is A+!

The bartenders here suck! They have signs up that say they dont wait tables during happy hour. I get that rule, and its a good rule to have. However, when your bartenders set precedent by taking orders from women at their tables, not one, twice, three, four, five, but SIX times during happy hour, you better offer that to everyone else in the bar, otherwise we all see you for who you are, and what your manager and owner permit. Follow your own rules, or change them, but offer consistent service to all patrons, no matter what your personal interest is. Youre on the clock, not us.

The food isnt that good. Ive been here twice now, both for lunch. The French dip was served cold on the first visit, and the crab cakes on the second visit tasted like they came out of a box. My husband ordered a pizza the last visit, which he said was incredibly greasy, even for a pizza, and was heavy handed on the pepperoni. On both occassions, it felt like we were being waited on by robots. Although the staff smiled, there was zero emotion in their actions and the responses seemed scripted and emotionless. I have had worse, far worse, than Matchbox. Its just not all that.

Matchbox features excellent pizza and American style food set against a backdrop of modern styling mixed with industrial elements like exposed beams and aged hardwood tables. The mini-burger appetizer was good, but the accompanying onion strings were fairly indescript. The service could have been called excellent were it not for a mix-up in the kitchen that left one member of our large party without a main dish until well after many of of had finished eating. The waiter did give us a credit for his order, though.

Awfully broken. Called ahead, quoted 30 minute wait. Horrible layout and chatty staff made it impossible to get a drink at the bar. Stood in a sea of clearly miserable people also waiting. Finally seated more than an hour AFTER ARRIVING. Walked to our table amid many, many empty tables. Server took our drink order and disappeared. Probably couldnt get served at the bar. Food was fine for a chain like this, but I was exhausted and annoyed. Who is managing this place?
