My wife and I are at Silo this past week. We were walking around, trying to find something new to try, and were uninspired by the offerings in City Center. We checked OpenTable, saw Silo, and decided to try it. The menu on OpenTable didnt match the menu in the restaurant. I dont remember the difference, but one dish that attracted us wasnt actually on the menu. Normally this would have upset me, but the food was incredible. We started with a lamb flatbread (I dont remember what they called it), but it tasted great. It was served with arugula on top which made it a little difficult to eat, but the flavors were great nonetheless. As an entree we both ordered their Silo Burger, and I think it was the best burger Ive ever had in a restaurant. It was a little salty, and I think thats why I enjoyed it so much. A couple complaints: The food took a while to come out, and we had to wave the waiter down to ask for the bill. If the food werent as good as it was, I wouldnt have given them 5 stars, but if when we eventually return and the food is just as good and the service is better, Ill leave the rating where it is.

Silo isnt only the best neighborhood bar in DC, but its one of the best bars, period. Each and every employee is so warm and welcoming. Ive had James as my waiter and hes so sweet and informative about the specials and the menu. Ive also come in just for drinks and their bartenders are the most attentive. Luke guides you through the menu and gives you his best recommendations while also letting you sample delicious drinks hes creating on his own. Even on my picky days, Luke knows exactly what Im looking for and can come up with a cocktail on the fly. Besides the service, the space itself is also beautiful and full of character. From the exposed brick and hand-painted mural to the unique movie posters in the bathroom, everything is so unique and memorable. Everyone in DC should stop by Silo at some point.

Simple but excellent. This wonderful restaurant is a lovely surprise. The menu is limited but quality. The Duo Veggie Spread was delicious and a steal during happy hour. The veggie lasagna was fantastic. They had a 3 Star Brewerery tap takeover the night I was there (which were all delicious). The normal draft selection is quite respectable. I wish they would add a veggie burner as their Silo Burger sounds delicious. The space is beautiful exposed brick and ceiling. The waiter didnt mention dessert to us which was surprising, but other than that was very attentive. Overall, an excellent experience.

This place isnt fancy and they suffer from a poor location, but the space is open and airy, and the food was equally good. The staff was pretty unfamiliar with the menu and there were a few items unavailable, but what they had was great. The calamari was super fresh and perfectly crispy on the outside. For mains, the jalapeño mayo on the burger had a great kick, and the halibut was perfectly flaky. Dessert was a bit of a bust--the lavender ice cream was overpowering.

Paid a pretty good amount for salmon and duck breast. Salmon was under seasoned and underwhelming in size. Duck break was not properly trimmed, nor were the vegetables seasoned. With such small portions and high prices, I expected better flavors. My drink was weak, but I admit I have a preference for stronger beverages than most. In fairness, we were told they had a new chef shortly after ordering. Great atmosphere though.

Silo is very close to the Gallery place metro stop and has excellent happy hour deals. It doesnt get too crowded most of the time so you can have a conversation with people which is always a plus for me. Some of the food can be a bit pricey but the drink cocktails are delicious and they have a nice beer selection. All the bartenders that I have interacted with have also been very helpful.

Disappointing brunch. Ordered the boozy donut holes and after they arrived with no chocolate sauce was informed that they only serve it with the sauce for happy hour. For the price, getting fried dough balls alone is not satisfying. The rest of the food was fine. Nothing special. Go here if you want a quick easy brunch, but not if you want to be impressed.

Service was great. Food was flavorful. I ordered the ratatouille, which was tasty but too salty. My boyfriend ordered halibut and was served a filet that couldnt have been even 3oz....for $23. Thats absurd. Tip to travelers: dont necessarily trust DC area ratings. These people here dont know 5 star food.

Love the modern, American-industrial influenced atmosphere. Ive been three or four times, and the food is always great! It was brand new the first few times I went, so you could tell they were working out the kinks with service, etc. Overall good experience. Great addition to the neighborhood

Faramarz, the guy who runs this place, is absolutely the friendliest and most professional dude youll meet. Ive had an extraordinary experience every single time I come here. They also have some great burgers which I recommend getting cooked medium. Juicy and tasty like its meant to be.

I sat at the bar with an empty glass for twenty minutes with no help. Being a general manager at a major restaurant chain I expect better service I will never come here to spend my money again . It would have been easy to tell me African Americans are not welcome

Good food but nothing to write home about from the culinary perspective. Really enjoyed the rosemary in fashion cocktail (old fashioned with rosemary twist?) ++ Best part is it wasnt crowded Saturday evening accommodating 12 of us. Great waitstaff.

I dont know why it has taken me so long to go to Silo for dinner, but their food is great and the vibe is legit. Theyve always had a great beer selection (local included) and their happy hour deals are awesesome!

My friends and I came here for brunch, exploring restaurants in the neighborhood. The service was fantastic and the food was great! The brunch options were very common, however. Nothing particularly unique.

Easy to miss with adjacent construction, but a great place to meet up with friends for a fun night of good food and drinks. Walking distance from Gallery Place or Mt Vernon. Get the brussel sprouts! Yum!

I love this place. Laid back bar with great bartenders. Food is really good and it stands out from the larger downtown places. Definitely check them out for happy hour.
