Has to be the best bang for your buck lunch spot in the area! I was finally able to stop by here for lunch after being turned off by the line out the door. Lunch specials are all around 7.99. You get about 9 different banchan with soup and rice with your entree. Co worker and I shared the fried fish and a leak and beef soup. The fish was lightly salty and fried perfectly. Fish was steaming hot and tasted very well. We literally deboned every single piece of this poor fish to get all the meat. It was that good. Fish comes with the bean paste soup which is also very tasty. The soup was huge had to be an extra large bowl. Beef is crazy tender reminded me of pot roast beef. Tender, fall off the bone type and they give you plenty of it. At least 4 big spoon full of it. You get a lot enokitake mushrooms, green onion and mildly seasoned broth. There was so much food we brought home the soups for dinner. Our bill came out to only $16 which is a steal. Seating is very limited here. Ill be back to try their mackerel and bibimbap.

Heard they have very good (and cheap) lunch menu, but I was here for dinner. Ordered their notable bosom (steam fatty pork with lettuce and pickled vegetables to wrap around with), bibimbap, grilled mackerel and galbi). Everything tastes so delicious and portion was rather generous! The restaurant itself is very small and not very decorative. Furniture is not the most modernized. It feels very homey and the two Korean ladies that serve all the tables (about 8-10 tables in total) are extremely nice and responsive to refills and all your requests!! Since seating is extremely limited, you might have to wait a while if you come in at the wrong time. I also saw quite a few people coming in to pick up their orders so that could be an alternative option, but I enjoy sitting in especially I dont live in the area.

They were really rude to me. Ive heard good things about their food. Very good. So Yesterday, While I was walking by to pick up my bonchon order. They were closing up and one of the employees stepped outside. I said "Excuse me, Ive heard great things about your restaurant, What exactly do you serve here?" I was polite, smiling, not under the influence of anything. Just curious? She brought a man out and I repeated my question He said " I dont know, go away go away" shooing me Im like WTF? What did I do wrong? I dont know if it was a racial thing, a language barrier or maybe they just didnt like me But I know one thing, I definitely dont want to know or try their food anymore

I lived in Charlottesville for last two years and once I went to D.C. I would have To Sol Jip. The best Korean food in D.C. area. Last week, I took my friends here and had a great lunch. One of my friends forget to take her iPhone with her after lunch. When she realized that she didnt took her iPhone, we were approaching Charlottesville. As we were doing a single-way road trip to California, it is not a good idea to go back to pick up the phone. We contacted the restaurant and they were very friendly and willing to help. They helped us ship the phone to California, where my friend help received the phone this morning. Thanks again To Sok Jip!

There is almost always a line at this place. You will almost never see Koreans waiting for a table at a restaurant, particularly one as casual as this one but the food is very very good and the prices provide very good value. The menu is very limited and is in Korean and there are a few items that are "acquired tastes" so go with someone who can read korean because the wait staff is too busy to walk you through anything. The service is prompt and courteous but they are very busy so it may seem brusque.

A hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant, they are known for their grilled fish! The menu offers soups, stews, bo ssams (steamed pork belly with spicy radish), and grilled meats. I highly recommend their lunch combinations that are offered during the weekdays, as well as getting their Go Deung Uh Goo Wee (which is the grilled mackerel - it is grilled and seasoned perfectly). The staff is very abrupt, but efficient, and the place gets extremely busy during the lunch rush.

Often very reasonable lunch menu that comes with not only rice and fish but also with a soup. Other than food, service is always horrible due to small size restaurant with many customers, long wait line during lunch so if you dont have time, dont even think of sitting down to eat. Funny thing is if you order on phone that is quicker to pick up food then wait in line to order.. overall, food is very authentic Korean style but often very salty.nice traditional side dishes

This place is awesome. Remember when you would sit around at home for dinner and the food that your mom/grand mother cooked was so good that you would ask the question, "Why dont you open a restaurant?" But then, because of the economy and dedication, the idea fell apart like a Vietnamese car. Well, in another universe or another life, this is the result of that seemingly rhetorical question. This place has great home cooking. I wont say anymore.

Food was about average, servers were slightly impolite. The most shocking thing was when one of the servers (waitress) called me urgently on the way out of the restaurant, complained to me about the tip (I gave her about 11%), and looked at me with those evil eyes (about couple of seconds) as if she was going to murder me. She headed back inside the restaurant. For me, the food was about average, service is below average.

Came here for lunch yesterday. Parking lot is small they share it with a ton of other restaurants on the block so I parked at the Giant. The restaurant is very small maybe 10 tables max. The menu is in Korean with some English translation. Everything we had was very good and hot. Food came out fairly quick. The portions are huge! They offer white and brown rice. True authentic homemade Korean food.

The food was delicious. The place is bustling most of the time due to it being a rather small joint. However, the services were pretty prompt. The amager lady and the head server were doing a good job. We had 청국장, 된장국, 대구매운탕 and 고등어 구이. All of which were yummy. The manager lady gave us extra food to take home thinking we were travelers? she was right. The food tasted good cold too the day after.

Possibly the best Asian food Ive ever had. And they serve the food so fresh and hot that I had to wait a solid 3 minutes before I could begin eating. My only complaints would be the dishes seem poorly washed because my company and I all agreed the complimentary water cup they serve tasted like burnt rice and the service could be friendlier.

Today my experience having dinner lead me to the decision that I will be there only for lunch. Seafood pancake(해물파전) came out undercooked and I asked to fix it. It seemed they just microwave it then brought it back out bc it was soggy. Budae jiggea (부대찌개). No one would question if I say it is kimchi jiggea (김치찌개). Very disappointed.
