If you are looking for a all you can eat style Korean BBQ joint this is the spot. While I dont think the quality is on par with other places Ive visited you really cant beat the fact that it is all you can eat. The service staff is fairly quick about getting everything together for you and even cooking the meat if youre not a good BBQer like myself. Its always packed so get in early and try to grab a booth, because the table with the propane fueled hibachi grills just arent the same. Price wise its an insanely great deal, for lunch its $16 and for dinner depending on which style A (more beef) or B (more pork) its $28/$25 respectively. However if you order drinks it could be more and I really recommend getting a soda to expel any extra gas to cram more meat in your stomach. There are three downsides in my opinion. The place is loud, its always playing loud K-Pop music with multiple screens playing video. this might be a minus to some in respect to trying to have a conversation at a lower level. This is a decent 3 or later date place but if you want to have a conversation I suggest going somewhere else. The parking lot is horribly cramped and you really can only make a right turn out of the parking lot. Which leads out onto the busiest street in Rockville. The other is the taste, its not bad by any means but after eating at other Korean BBQ places in the DC metro area Id say that Iron Age while still being in the top 5 is on latter half of the list. However dont think it taste awful, but if you asked me about Korean BBQ Id probably point you somewhere else unless you wanted the all you can eat. Hence the 4 out of 5 rating, while there are other places to go for Korean BBQ that all you can eat is a deal!

Great food, but kinda expensive. For korean barbeque however, it is quite cheap, especially if youre a buffet champion like me. It is 25 dollars for the A menu, and 20 for the B menu. Get the A menu if you can. The iron age steak is the best thing on the menu, followed by spicy pork bellies. They will not seat you until your whole party is there, and they do not take reservations unless you have 8 or more people. It can get quite crowded, especially Friday night to Sunday, so make sure you get there early. Saturday is fine until around 12:30, and Fridays you want to get there before 6 at the latest. There have been known to be 3 hour waits. Try to get a table in the booths if you can. The grills in the middle are those portable ones, and you dont get a flame. This cooks the food slower and gives it less of a taste, if you know what I mean. If you are a vegetarian, stay away. There is nothing but small side dishes for you here. Which arent bad, but not something youd pay 30 dollars for. The service can be slow sometimes, especially if you come at a busy time with only 2 people. They usually come to turn and cut the meat for you, but the servers tend to focus on larger tables first. That means that you will have to make sure the meat isnt getting burned on one side yourself. They do have alcohol, but its pretty expensive and take away from your ability to eat, so I usually dont get it. If you are feeling adventurous, try to beef large intestines. They are really good, but it tastes weird if youre not used to it.

Iron Age is one of my favorite go to places. I always bring new friends here because the food is just so good, it needs to be shared. Unfortunately, the service is really terrible. I have been coming here for about three years, so the terrible service definitely wasnt just a one time thing. Last week I went, and the service was the absolute worst. We were completely ignored, we had to pratically beg for the regular sides that should have already been out, along with water refills. I knew that night was going to start off badly when our server told us what he wanted to start us with...sorry but I want to pick what Im eating if I have to pay for it. So between our servers constantly switching out, disappearing and "trash talking" (in front of us) I 100% do not think they shold automatically make us pay 20% on their tip when they dont even deserve half of that. Speaking as a fellow server, I hate to complain and I know its hard work, but these guys are just plain rude. Also it took us well over half an hour to find someone who worked there so we could pay our bill. We would have gladly walked out so Ill keep that in mind for next time. ***The only reason Im giving Iron Age 4 stars is because yes, their food really is that good, despite everything I just said about the service.

While Honey Pig in Annandale VA is the better known DMV Korean BBQ joint -- Iron Age is the hidden gem! What does Iron Age have? Kpop music videos playing on every wall (check), 2 unlimited meat options (check, check), unlimited appetizers (check) waiters who are attentive ~preface: for a Korean BBQ restaurant~ (check) What is Iron Age Missing? Ventilation -- It gets hot in there. Dont get me wrong, they have vents and its not unbearable but depending on the temp and the amount of people in there, it can get a bit warm... It would also be nice if there was some sort of waiting area. What to Expect? Meat Sweats, Doing some minor meat management, Opting for the 2nd (fuller) option for $25 (it just makes sense), having to wash the smell of meat out of your hair and clothing when you get home, a long wait during popular hours, did I mention meat sweats...ouff Overall I really did enjoy this place -- I have given this place 5 stars as it is probably the best KBBQ place in the DMV, this isnt to say there arent better but comparatively to Honey Pig which is the only other real option, this is the best.

So Iron Age is basically a K-POP video come to life. Loud, confusing visuals, nothing makes sense, but its oddly awesome. To those not familiar with Korean BBQ, there is a grill in your table. Bowls of marinated, sometimes spicy meat are brought out. Said meat is tossed on said grill. Scrape off and eat when done. Iron age does two all you can eat menus. A-side includes some signature steak cuts, octopus, and the exotic side of Korean protein (think beef intestines). The cheaper B-side is more well known stateside staples, such as bulgogi, pork belly and the like. We went B-side and were not disappointed. The Hawaiian bulgogi was sweet and pineapple-y. The pork belly was fatty and savory, and the 돼지블고기 (spicy pork) was hot enough to be fun, but not too hot to keep everyone from enjoying it. Finally, the service was above and beyond fantastic. Our server was a great guide on what to order, and even tailored the portions so we could eat all we could, but not over eat. I cant wait to go back, especially with a big group and get a little rowdy.

After having a not so great experience at the Iron Age Centreville, VA location, I was skeptical about my experience here in Rockville. I went with a group of friends that reassured me that this Iron Age location was the best so I decided it was worth the risk (especially since my friends know their Korean BBQ). I was pleasantly surprised by everything that night. The service was friendly and fast, the food was great, and the atmosphere was much more like a restaurant where I could have conversation with my friends instead of a club like atmosphere where all you hear is pounding bass. Not that I mind pounding bass, just not when Im trying to talk over it. The price is the best part in that the cheaper option is still such a great bargain for all you can eat Korean BBQ. I was most impressed with the service as with most places, you run out of items quickly and have to wait, the staff was attentive and on top of things. Ive gone to a lot of all you can eat BBQ joints in the DMV and I think this one is definitely up there.
