This is an ok restaurant but should be better. The food was just ok. I had crab cakes that were good but small in size. Two people had shrimp with lobster stuffing that the enjoyed but thought were over cooked. My wife had a trout dish that she didnt like all that much and she loves seafood. I wanted to replace a side dish that I knew o would not like with a salad and was told that there would be a $2 up charge. We dont live in VA but were visiting from coastal NC and I know of no restaurant in our area that up charges for salad. Our waitress was very good. She was friendly and efficient but the folks that seated us were a disappointment for two reasons. First they told us it was a forty minute wait. No problem except there was no area in which we could sit and wait. Then they seated us at the booth in the bar area that had been empty the entire time that we stood at the door trying to occupy a 2 year old while taking turns holding him. His mother is expecting in a May as well so that wasnt ideal for her. Secondly, when we asked if we could be seated in the second booth to keep the toddler out of the cold draft, we were curtly told that booth was reserved. Really? Someone actually phoned to reserve the second booth from the door in the noisy bar area? Talk about passive aggressive. If I was the owner I would replace that young lady. She doesnt represent the restaurant very well.

I went to Bonefish this evening on a whim, boy, am I glad I went! I had the most attentive and personable server Emily. She had confidence enough to make suggestions about several of the entrees, which I love, because I enjoy trying new food. She was spot on, I couldnt have picked a better dinner for myself. The manager, Tony came by to check on our service and meal, which most managers do in restaurants today, but he was professional, personable, and made our experience tonight delightful. When we discovered it was pouring down rain in sheets, Tony grabbed two umbrellas and walked us to our separate cars. I was soaked despite his effort to keep me dry, even the inside of my purse was soaked. We laughed as water splashed up our legs and rain fell from the sky. I had some of the best food (Bang, Bang Shrimp, cilantro and lime salad with grilled salmon) and met some of the friendliest staff in a restaurant. This was a WOW kind of night after a long day! Thanks Tony and Emily!!! Make sure you stop in to Kingstowne Bonefish and ask to sit in Emilys section and chat with Tony!

I think that this place is simply awesome. My colleagues and I went there on Friday after an all-day meeting. Our Office Manager made the reservation which was smart, because we saw nearly 50 people hanging around the lobby and waiting area. We arrived about 15 minutes early, and we all were quickly seated in a nice quiet space in the corner of the restaurant. I started off with the Bang Bang Shrimp with crab cakes. I know if I even attempted to make these at home, they wouldn’t be as delicious. My friend had had the Potatoes Au Gratin with the bread crumbs and she said it was absolutely perfect. My other friend had the beef ginger dumplings which she said were freakishly good. The service was outstanding and our server walked us through each of the wonderful salsas that they had to offer. The atmosphere was also nice, and the prices overall seemed reasonable.

Great service, attentive and nice. Food I would leave 1 star. I wanted to order their scallops and shrimp and when I asked what scallops they have the answer was wet ( the worse one you can get) We ordered steaks medium well. We got the food in 5 min!!! How??? Answer the steaks were medium to medium rare ( all red inside plus with blood), they took it back and cooked moore... mine came medium well but tasted so old. My filet mignon tasted like it was cooked yesterday and rehited today:( Ribeye steak from my husband came back medium ( we both shared it since didnt want to send it back again, plus it was a bit burned already). After meal I told manager about this, and he comped my meal even though I sad I would like to pay for the 2 sides that I ate. Still thats not the point... when you ordered the meal you want to get it perfectly prepared...

Nasty nasty, my hubby and I was out on a date the sever sat us near the window. As we look at the window a bugh was crawling around and the window seals was very dusty. The bathroom was very disgusting. Toilet over flowing and tissue and trash every where. To be a high end restaurant this was the worst experience ever. To top it off my husband corn chowder was warm almost cold and his main entrée which was the salmon was cooked very hard. The crust was burnt. The only thing that was good was the bread and the bang bang shrimp. The manager had to come over to kill the bug. After he left another bug appear. I mean come on we are paying you our money for a nasty restaurant that they didnt take time to properly clean.

Went there for lunch before seeing a movie. Got the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer and they served the bread with the dipping oil. Both were very good and consistent quality when we usually order the shrimp. For lunch my wife had the Cobb salad which she enjoyed sand everything looked fresh. I got the two cod tacos and Cesar salad. They forgot the dressing and the cod I bit into was rubbery. The server and the manager, James, both provided excellent service by replacing my dish with better fish and the salad was great with the dressing. Ill continue to rest here again because of their service and of course the bang bang shrimp.

The food is exactly what I expected (OK but solid), the service is good, and the drinks are really tasty. Food: I found the food to be very standard, similar in quality to California Pizza Kitchen. Ive been twice, and everything I ordered was solid and tasty, but nothing spectacular. Given the quality of the food, it is on the pricey side, but not outrageous - kind of like CPK, PF Changs, etc. Drinks: I thought the drinks here were the highlight. The cocktails are really delicious. Ive also had their Blackberry Smash (non-alcoholic), also very good. Update: Cocktails continue to be consistently super tasty!

Been going to bonefish since the place opened about five years ago. I know the owner hes a great owner and manager hires excellent people. One of the few owner managers that comes out and talks to his guest and regulars to see if theyre happy how theyre doing. Their house salad with the bonefish dressing on it is phenomenal. The already tuner is a generous portion of great fish. The prices and service is great the bartending staff is phenomenal. Also like meeting up with the regulars chatting with staff and them makes you unique and great place to hang out.

EVERY Bonefish Grill Ive visited has gone above and beyond the call of duty in terms of menu selections, drink selections, wait and hostess staff quality, you name it, they have GOT it. This location is no exception...but you might be led to believe otherwise, due to their low-visibility location in an (arguable) "strip mall-ish" location. Dont let any of that fool you...this is an OUTSTANDING restaurant. And I say that as a dude who has critical shellfish allergies... :)
