First of all I want to say that I am a fan of the beer. On that note I was very disappointed in the whole experience. I was in a party of four (my girlfriend, our friend and her boyfriend), my girlfriend ordered Midas Touch twice and both times was given the wrong beer. Our friends boyfriend ordered from the beer menu only to be told that the price had been changed on his beer by more than $5 higher. Once our beers finally came, we ordered our food, but waiter only took down one of our orders and the three left over had to order again. Food was alright, and only alright not worth the price. We thought the atmosphere would be more like an ale house, but was was more like a family oriented restaurant on par with T.G.I.F. If you are expecting a brewhouse like Founders, Bells, Three Floyds, etc... I say stay away from this place. You will be bombarded with children and prices that will make you say where is this coming from?

Ive been going here with my family since it opened. Weve frequented all the restaurants that have been in this building since it was Pat & Mikes. Dogfish is easily.one of the best restaurants in Gaithersburg. The food quality is very consistent. The regular menu gets minor updates every year or so. Changing out a burger or adding an entre. But their weekly specials are often where the chefs get to shine. Beyond the food, the beer is always good. Dogfish is easily one of the best large scale microbrews in the country. Constantly putting out seasonal beers and limited releases while maintaining the quality of their regular beers. I love the 90 minute IPA and the Hellhound. The wait staff here is very friendly and helpful. Service is usually quick even when the place is packed. There can be long waits for tables on Friday and Saturday nights. The trick is to get there just before 5.

We love Dogfish in this family. Its our go-to restaurant. Weve had just about everything on the menu at this point and its all good. Our favorites are the mac and cheese, the canary pizza, the steak bomb sandwich, the border burger and the calamari. Oh and of course the beers. I prefer less hoppy beers, so especially come winter the selection does get a bit limited for me, but my husband loves those. The Black and Blue, Festina Peche, Sah Tea, Pangea and Punkin are my favorites. My husband usually gets either a 60 or 90 minute IPA. Weve never had a bad server. The place can get crazy busy but if youre a normal sized party (less than 6) they can usually get you seated in a reasonable time frame and you can also call ahead to see how busy they are and if needed add your name to the list. There are coupons regularly in the Valu-pack mailer so dont just throw those envelopes away.

The beer is crazy expensive, the better brews are all north of $10 and many of them come in only 12 oz servings to rub some salt in the wound. Food is decent, Ive never had anything that was bad but never anything noteworthy either. Bar and restaurant service is solid, patio service tends to be slow. Other brewhouses often have special, interesting and hard to find beers on tap, this place...does not. Its the same stuff and it gets boring. I work a two minute walk from here and enjoyed coming here on nearly a weekly basis for a few months, but hardly come at all anymore. The beer and menu never really change, the crowd and the bartenders tend to be older and pretty boring and it just isnt worth the cost. Go down the road to Growlers, youll pay half as much money for better food and more interesting beer.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant when I moved to the area. The menu and beer is great! The service was awful though. Our waitress was awkward and not very friendly. My friends food was served cold, not even luke warm, and it took our waitress about 15 minutes to check on us and reorder a new meal. The rest of us had been done eating before my friend even got her food. The waitress mumbled an apology, said it was busy and walked away. It wasnt even that busy and she wasnt rushing around at all. After that, we were still charged for the cold meal. I would like to try this restaurant again but our waitress showed 0 enthusiasm which gives me negative feelings about this place. Ive never had such bizarre service in my life. Maybe I will try this place again in a few months.

Dogfish Head Alehouse is one of my favorite places to go to in Gaithersburg. Lets start with their craft beers. The Raison D Etre is amazing and quite frankly the main reason I go. However, everything else at Dogfish is great too. The staff are friendly, courteous and attentive, the food is always delicious (and they vary the menu with specials) and the ambiance is nice too. If you go on a weekend go early or plan to spend some time at the bar waiting because there is always a line. To me this a great sign, people are willing to wait to eat. Im always suspicious of a restaurant that has no wait on a weekend. I go here at least several times a month. I highly recommend you give it a try!

Dogfish Head is probably my favorite restaurant. Every time I visit the Gaithersburg location, its a fantastic time with the best food and beer around. Portion sizes are excellent, and the beer speaks for itself. You cant go wrong with anything on their menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion. Their staff is always great and knowledgeable, and can answer any questions about any beers you want to taste. Absolutely love it and it deserves 5 stars if not more. My fiance and I have been lucky enough to grab Dogfish Head to cater our wedding, and Sam and Joe have been nothing, but the most enjoyable experience of putting together our wedding.

The Hamburger was really good. The bacon was thicker than most and had good flavor. The patty was more medium rare than the medium I asked for but it was still good. The bun was not able to provide bun support and gave out halfway through dinner. This might have been the result of the mushrooms. The fries were good and I was surprised to see hand cut fries that are actually crispy. These fries were crispy with the right amount of salt. The reuben egg rolls had a lot of cheese and very little sauerkraut. They were more like cheese egg rolls, which is okay if thats what you are looking for. Our waitress was really great to work with.

Pleasantly surprised by this Bar that serves food. They are known for the beers but the food is not bad at all. What really killed me was how well the service ran. We had been seated for just under 5 minutes when the server from the next section came to check on us. Our server took over from there and was excellent. Never had to look around for her... or wonder where things were. Everything from the kitchen to the bar was speedy and correct. I have not been there in years... but thinking I should correct that. The garlic in the Caesar is a little over powering... but everything else at our 8 top was spot on.
