Summary: Way Over priced for portion and quality, Not Clean, Cheap Service- Bad Choice, and will never come back. I usually don’t leave a review, but this one is worth to tell. Coming out of town, I looked up the place on Google, as another alternative from going to subway. Since it was open after nine pm, was excited to try it. The time I entered, instantly noticed the issue with hygiene. I was surprised how dirty and sticky the table was. I looked up the menu and the owner jumps straight ahead to recommend a plate. The prices he started to mention are different than what I was seeing. Anyways he picked something I pointed at, and left. Then the owner shows up with a dish that has nothing to do with the picture on the menu, then hands me a dirty fork “No knife” and exactly one folded cheap tissue. I already used it once I flicked out one of the chicken pieces dealing with only a fork to cut and eat. I asked for the knife and water, I get the water in a cheap plastic cup and has dirt all around the edges so mainly I didn’t drink the water. On the check out I moved to the cashier, stayed for sometime till the lady showed up, immediately mentioned the extra charge and said it is a lunch special and now a dinner time so you have to be extra charged! Even though the same meal is way cheaper on the lunch time, and initially it was the owners choice. So I was almost charged as having 3 meals at Subway and not as near as healthy. So mainly I was on a go for a quick nice meal, I ended up ruining my night, having unpleasant food, got way overcharged for a small meal “ Almost kid size”, and not a sip of a water to dilute the species I had.

This may be the very best pakistani food i think i have ever eaten that was not homemade. I have been all over the Southwest and even with significant desi population in California and Texas, one would very hard pressed to come across a pakistani restaurant with such authentic and delicious pakistani food on this side of the Mississippi. Amir Mehmood, the owner, is a native of Kashmir from Pakistan and he takes great pride in his cooking and prepares every single dish with the highest level of personal attention. He actually uses real daigs, karahis, and a tandoor to prepare barbecue, karahi dishes, chargha, and naan. The menu includes a bunch of delicacies from Kashmir including Kashmiri pulao and Harissa. He makes puri and pathoray right in front of you with lahori channay and halwa. If you are not the one for spicy food then just let him know what level of spiciness you are comfortable with and hell make it right. Otherwise if you want real Kashmiri or Punjabi food, just say so. Top it all off with real pakistani style chai. Well done Amir bhai. Keep it up!

this place was a mess. We arrived here around 6:30, typical dinner time when it was temporarily closed? after waiting for 30-40 minutes she yelled at us saying that there was a sign saying that it was closed and she had to pick up someone and it wasnt her fault. it was so cold in her restaurant that all the guests that came in after us left. It was a one man show, she gave us the menus , took our order and made our food. we ordered one meal and got two little scrappy chicken bones in a disgustingly dirty pan, the rest of the restaurant was dirty too. The meal was overpriced for the amount of food we got, 25 dollars for one meal that barely had any meat and just tasted like she poured a box of seasoning in it. I really dont understand how his restaurant has any high reviews, if you want quality service and food for the right price go to kabob stop.

I been going to Zaika for more then 3 years. They were very nice. Today I order chicken curry with medium spice and white. Since I was fasting I couldnt taste. When I took it home to eat for iftaar, it was a worse taste ever. Curry had so much spice that I couldnt bare eating and the rice had no taste what so ever. When I took it back to them and told them how it wasnt how I wanted, they started arguing instead of apologizing. I was so disappointed with their rude behavior. No refun or an apology. Worse restaurant ever. Please tell them twice what you want or youll get the same thing as I did. Very disappointed. No manners, no apology, no refund.

The decor is nothing special, which makes it especially my kind of place. The owner, Amir, is very affable. We had the good fortune of stopping by when it was empty of other customers. Amir spent a lot of time explaining the food. EVERYTHING possible is made from scratch. EVEN the tangy yogurt in the mango-yogurt dessert drink we shared. Entrees are very big (enuff for 2) and very reasonable. This Pakistani food is such high quality, Im sure even people in Pakistan would drive quite a ways to enjoy it.

A little place tucked in behind Bad Ass coffee on South State Street that definitely deserves the support of everyone who enjoys cuisine from the Subcontinent (India, Pakistan, etc.) These are dishes - and a flavor palate - you wont find anywhere else. And the folks who run it could not be nicer. When youre in the mood for something spicy, and truly different, I would give this place a try.

I have had their fresh made Pakistani food several times. First experienced as brought to me by a friend as takeout. Its hidden a bit within the Bad Ass Coffee company building on State St. with more emphasis on quality than advertising or signage/decor. Word of mouth is essential to businesses like this so please eat, enjoy and spread the word!:)

This place is legit!! The food is authentic and not watered down in flavor or spice. After almost living here in SLC for almost a year we found this gem!!! Reminds me of the Indian / Pakistani food in Texas. The food will sure make your sinuses run if you get the hottest spice level. Definitely coming back.

The worst Beef Briyani I have ever eaten in my entire life. Actually they fooled us by giving a plain fried rice with few pieces of kebab mixed together. For those who have never eaten Briyani before, please guys this is DEFINITELY NOT Briyani. They charged $10 for this stupid sticky fried rice?

The owners were busy with talking to an other person who was not even a customer about TV show and everything else. We had to ask for water twice. Seriously concentrate on your customers. Dont make them ask for Water twice. No wonder the place was empty. Horrible customer service

Owners took our order and made all the food. Everything was delicious! We took their recommendations for the appetizers, entrees, and dessert and were not disappointed! Know that most of the meat dishes have bones in them, so it takes a little more work to eat.
