One Star is one to many for this "last resort" bad picnic barbecue experience (Weve all been there). So I walk in with My date hearing nothing but good things about this "R&R" place. The line was 40 minutes of standing in close quarters with strangers of all sort. And 40 back breaking minutes later of standing, We finally reached the destination of ordering. (It was our first time here) So naturally, we ask for suggestions on what to get. It felt as if we were being rushed to "make up our minds" to the impatient employee taking the orders. She suggested the "3 meat combo" and assured us that our hunger would be quenched by ordering this item for 2. We get to the ending part of the line where we receive our food and pay. I am ignorantly asked if I would like to donate a "tip" by the cashier. (As if they arent already making hand over-fist in sales) I graciously declined her invitation. Than she hands us 1 basket of food. I thought there may have been a mix up. Because there was very little food. But she assured us that that is what we ordered. I than ask for a plate (because theres two of us and one small basket) she hands us one. ( because it would have been to much of her to grab 2) We proceed to our table. Only to find there was no silverware to be found. Didnt see any at the condiment/fountain drink area. So we ate with our hands. Like small children in a high chair. We boasted and made best of the situation by saying "were to good for forks and knives" but inside a part of my soul had become sensitive and my eyes were visibly watery of the humiliation of using my hands to eat in a public setting. So I was shocked, offended and hurt. My date was a trooper and pretended as if all was well.. which saved me from bursting into an uncontrollable sob. Lastly, the exit doors... Now here is why I will never be making it back to R&R which should stand for. "unpRofessional&dangeRous". We proceeded to exit and couldnt find the doors... only to find out that they blend in with the glass windows. There was no handle, push lever. Nothing. I believe that it would not pass code byway of the local fire department and presents an obvious fire Hazard. It makes my blood boil just thinking about it. (In fact today, I was getting a hair cut. And the thought of R&R made me thrust my head back in anger causing my hair to receive a tragic loss. And now I have to shave it all off. It cannot be fixed. I hold R&R responsible for the loss of my hair, as I sit dejectedly on the couch in sever depression writing this lengthy review. All because I went to R&R one time. I suggest this place to anyone who wishes to have a bad experience.

I dont like restaurants where you stand in a line, order food, order drinks at the register when paying, and then scramble to find a clean table - this is that type of restaurant. Staff is very friendly and make an effort to hustle - they have been trained well and seem to enjoy their work. After waiting for the next available cashier, we were told that parts of our order were unavailable. So, we paid and picked up the food that was ready, but then had to sit and wait for about 10 minutes for those items and also for our non-Mormon beverages to be served. There were lots of flies too, but I think thats because these BYU fans were holding the doors open for their party of 15+ persons. The food, when it finally all arrived, was very good and pleasing. The brisket is probably the best in SLC, the sausage is very spicy, the pulled pork is very good, and the chicken was tender/juicy. They ran out of ribs earlier, so no idea about them. Their beer selection is outstanding and they have several house beers on tap which are highly recommended. You can get Uinta brews (meh), as well as high point and domestic bottles. Their house Red amber ale is great, but the Competition lager tastes a lot like Bud Light - it was still cold and refreshing, so I cant complain too much. The garlic mashed potatoes and gravy are the best side, IMHO. The hush puppies have bits of jalapeno inside, so be ready for a spicy kick. Overall 3 stars for very good food, great beer, and friendly employees, but the long line, food not being ready/served at the same time, and flies were unpleasant. Would recommend for non-peak hours and week nights, except for holidays, weekends, and especially Pioneer Day - apparently Mormons and their 8+ kids dont appreciate us U of U fans enjoying a cold draft beer with our BBQ.

First of Google maps had me going to a wrong place. Just stay on Jordan Parkway as if going east. Frontage road is the street right before u get on the I-15 South freeway entrance. The food was ok at is best. I ordered a 2 meat plate. One was pulled pork and chopped brisket. I went with a large group of friends and some had ordered the sliced brisket and it looked WAY better than the chopped. My brisket had so much fat it was almost uneatable. I took my plate to the counter and told them about the fat and they happily gave me another order of chopped brisket. It still wasnt amazing, and it had fat but not as much as my first order. The hushpuppies nothing to be amazed about. They only gave me 3 and they are the size of a medium marble, super tiny. And my order of fries was tiny too. They did have all sorts of BBQ sauces on the table which do help the semi dry meat. My order came up to about $16. Not worth it in my opinion. I did not want the hushpuppies nor the roll they offer with the plate. I mean once I was done with the few fries they gave me I was stuck with eating the meat by itself. All in all I will not come back. For the money I spent here I can get more and better quality food in other restaurants.

The food is top notch. Some of the best BBQ Ive had. I highly recommend the brisket tacos. On my most recent visit, unfortunately I received some very poor service. I was told by the individual behind the counter that theyd be with me in a minute, about 5 minutes later and the person was clearly not busy and finally another employee had to ask if I had been helped yet. Then I ordered a dessert and they asked if I wanted it now or later so I said later. I ate my meal and then went back to ask for my dessert and was told it would be right out. I waited 5 minutes and asked again and was told again it would be right out. 5 minutes later I was getting ready to just leave and another employee asked me if I was needing anything and I told them I was still waiting on my dessert. It was finally delivered. I only write this story because I think the food here is phenomenal and the other times Ive been there Ive gotten great service and I hope that this experience was only a fluke due to a busy night.

Im posting as my husband but my name is Tory. Everyone here is so nice. From walking in the door to exiting - employees said hello, asked if we needed any help, to thanking us for coming in; and everyone had a smile! Adam can be seen making his way around to tables and interacting with patrons. He was especially personable. He made my husband and Is first experience here memorable. The brisket was delicious, the ribs tender, and while the sausage had a bit of heat it was a smoky slow cooked in subtle heat. They had 4 sauces - original, Carolina, sweet, and hot. The sweet was the best but hot didnt put your mouth on fire. From our table we could watch as employees carefully prepared the foods ordered and it all looked and smelled amazing. The beans were deliscious - Im from Texas and this is definitely up to par! We will definitely be back!!
