Brought my family and we were disappointed by the food. Ribs were unmistakeably cooked much earlier in the day but kept warmed (or re-warmed) for us this evening (7PM Sunday). Chicken wings had no crispness to them and were just saucy (need to be thrown on open flame grill before serving). Pulled pork came out as two mounds of dried out (see my comment about warming/re-warming) pork with sauce decoratively drizzled on top of each mound. My step mom said the greens tasted like they were from a can. They were OK in my opinion. The beer and sodas were cold and good. Their selection of sauces were good -- sweet, hot and Carolina. Service was friendly while still being sub par -- food took an unexpectedly long time considering that bbq is already cooked, having to ask for plates, no serving utensils for the sides..

Dont waste your time, money, or possibly your health eating here. This place was crap. Unfortunately I am not exaggerating. Cold and old bbq was served with canned sides. We ate there at 7pm on a Friday night and we were the only ones in the Shack besides a random DJ. The old and dry BBQ pork was served in the shape of a cup that it was crammed in to get weighed. The corn bread was mysteriously soggy on the bottom. The sausage was dry and old. This is just a sad place. We agreed that this was the worst dining experience in the last few years. They get half a star for the Greek salad served with cold ribs and half a star for the BBQ sauces on the table.

Food is good but the wait was not worth it. I have been in here for dinner within the last couple of weeks and thought we had finally found a local spot there is a younger lady who is usually very polite and observant, remembers our names, someone who makes us want to come back but the new woman that was in there Wednesday night should not be there . We had waited 35 minutes before our drinks were refilled it took 20 minutes for our order and another 45 for dinner. All I can say is I really hope the other waitress that was working dinner is still there, she doesnt go on about herself and does an excellent job taking care of her guests.

Average Showed up at lunch, was the only one in the restaurant the entire time. Food was OK. Nothing you cant do at home yourself. Brisket was cut WITH the grain which was really really strange for a BBQ place, so you are getting long strands of chewy meat which is why flank, brisket and skirt are usually cut against grain. Just odd to find at a BBQ place. Food wasnt bad, just totally average and the place feels run down. I didnt get a sense of passion for the food or the place. Maybe I came on the wrong day.

Meat was really good. Had pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, and ribs between the group. Brisket might have been a tad over done but we came pretty close to closing time. House sauces were all tasty. Had a bottle of corona that was totally flat. Waitress was all over the place due to drinking a 5 hour energy drink but was very polite. The place looks like a dive but they are renovating and the food is good. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Under new ownership since August. The food is excellent! Pretty pricey though. Everything is a la carte. The full size salad is literally exactly the same size as the half sized salad but they charge double. When we asked the waitress about this, she said yea they are about the same size so I usually order the half size. The food is very good, but we left feeling taken advantage of and hungry.

Ate there today. New owners. Tri-Tip sandwich changed -- it was really hard to chew and thick sliced -- cooked rare. I was expecting something else. Order was a mess (there were 6 of us ordering). BBQ sauce was still good, but ... yeah, I think somewhere else is the right choice for where to go next time. I fed the dog half of my lunch -- she seemed happy with it.

First time here, new owners very first day. Ribs are spot on! Dry rubbed ,cooked perfectly, not fall off the bone braised ribs this is REAL bbq! Spicy sauce has a jalapeno flavor that works perfectly with the dry rub. Smoke level is perfect. Im going to go on a limb and say best ribs in the valley because it really doesnt get any better!

Arizona BBQ Shack is the best barbecue in Scottsdake, Tempe, Phoenix and the greater area. This is barbecue at its best. So tender and flavorful it makes your mouth water. Thank god everyone does not know where to go. Otherwise I would have trouble getting in the door to get my fix of thes famous barbecue.

Not impressed. Stopped in after the lunch rush so very few people in store. I sat at the bar and the bartender seemed to be more interested in looking at his computer than any of the 3 customers in the joint. The BBQ was good but not enough for me to go out of my way to come back again.

Had the tri tip sandwich and it was great - hot and seasoned just right, with a little tub of extra sauce on the side. The beans were good as was the cole slaw. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and we both enjoyed everything we ordered. I was very pleased!

It used to be really good. When the new owners took over they raised the prices, cheapened and made the food bland and turned the decor into a headache inducing sterile plastic pink explosion. I really miss the old Ribshack, formerly known as Scottsdale BBQ.

I cant speak for how this is now, but two years ago, the owners wife was Russian and had an additional Russian menu, which was pretty good. The chicken nuggets at the time were also good.

Some great sides, sandwiches and BBQ. The bar was recently remodeled and looks great. Big fan of the okra, hot link, brisket and pulled pork.
