I wish I had something good to say other than the owners are very nice people.Sadly I do not.We can literally see Smokin Bones from my house. We have never seen a puff of smoke or smelled a hint of cooking meat coming from there. Their brisket...which should be served in cut slices is served as an overly wet pulled meet.It taste like grandmas pot roast but even more flavorless.Apon looking at it or any of any other of the meats weve had here they dont have a smoke ring....just saying. My family all agrees it all tastes as though its cooked in the oven/crockpots,with no rubs or seasonings added to it pre-cooking. We went when they were trying a weekly new item menu one time....navajo tacos...they called them.A giant deep fried Utah "scone" a lot of very lackluster canned beans and meager scoop of their soggy...pot roast "brisket" it was insanely over-priced and disappointing...in fact their food as a whole is over-priced and disappointing. Beans from a can, cold pre-made cornbread, and flavorless meat served colder than room temperature. I really dont know how people rave about this place.Maybe theyve never had actual barbecue or have the the most easily impressed palates in the world. Judging by the reviews, our family isnt the only one that thinks this way. A+ for the friendly staff and owners....D- for everything else. We had 7 eating experiences at or from Smokin Bones, and all we did each tiime all we did is kick ourselves for wasting so much money only to be disappointed, again. Spare yourself. If you want good or even great, authentic barbecue.....go to SLC

If your looking for good smoked meat stay away. My first experience here and as I walk in, the entire staff was eating and seemed annoyed I was there to order. I ordered my food and there were no options for different sauces. (Like this is a BBQ joint right?)They give you two little sauces that pretty much tasted like glorified ketchup. Then I finally get home to be even more disappointed by the beef brisket. No smoke ring. No smoke flavor. It tasted like a watered down pot roast. Out of all the meat I ordered there was only a couple of bites I could attempt to eat after all the fat. To top it all off they messed up the Cole slaw. It was sitting in a huge bin in the fridge and it was so soggy. No crunch whatsoever. Im telling you the locals here must be brain washed for all the good reviews on good tasting meat. Stay away! To much money for such poor food. I really wanted to like it too because its family operated. But I write this review so that they will step up their game and offer some good food.

This was my first time visiting Smokin bones. I wanted to try it for a couple years. However now I only wished it would have been a couple more years before I tried eating here. Started out by taking my order which I had to repeat twice then he made my food and then it just sat there because a catering order customer came in to confirm and pay for his order tomorrow. I just figured that he was more important and his money by their actions I guess was more important. I suddenly became invisible standing there finally I paid what I think was kind of overpriced. I got a sandwich with sausage which I was told was hot and not so much really Bland and the tater salad had egg shells. By the time I got my food everything was cold that needed to be warm I personally would not recommend or ever go back and waste my money here again!

We ordered takeout last night from Smokin Bones and, Ive got to be honest, my expectations were pretty low. I ordered the brisket Navajo taco for me and the BBQ pizza with pulled pork for my wife. WOW, WERE WE IMPRESSED! First of all, their portion sizes are HUGE. We couldve shared either one of our meals and feel like we got plenty of food for the price. The scone for the Navajo taco was wide, thick, and delicious and the brisket was tender and flavorful. The pizza has thin, soft crust with plenty of delicious mozzarella cheese and smoked pulled pork. When I feel in the mood for some BBQ or even a huge scone, we will definitely be going back!

I wanted to try this place for a while. Stopped in yesterday and had the brisket and sausage. The sausage was a smoked bratwurst. It was good but it had a weird aftertaste. If I had to guess what it was, I would say pine sol. Im not trying to be mean, but thats what it tasted like to me. The brisket tasted like a good ol American pot roast. It tasted fine, just not like any brisket Ive had. The beans tasted great and the cornbread was good. Its been 24 hours since I ate there and lets just say I havent been "right"since. It cost about $12 without a drink.

Short version: Well prices, clean, GREAT food and good service. I love BBQ and local is ALWAYS better in my opinion. I know plenty of people who have been there and like it alot, and with good reason. Its similar to Subway in the order setup, you walk up and order and the make it front of you. The meat is made by them and all in house. The pulled pork was amazing and my friends who had the brisket said it was great as well, side such as corn bread and BBQ beans are great as well. On a scale from 1 to 10.....8/10 - would recommend

This is some great BBQ. We often go there and have. Ever been dissatisfied. The service is great. Oftentimes the owner has sat down to visit with us. I love that the food is ready when you walk In the door. The ribs are the type where they fall off the bone with ease. The sauces are very good. I always get way too much and take it home with me. This is a very super tender BBQ ribs like the kind you do in a crockpot or oven in foil and slow cook until moist and tender. Best way in my opinion.

What a hidden gem! I ordered a half rack of ribs, big portion compared to more chain style restaurants. Sides were excellent. I dont eat corn bread, when I go back corn bread will be one of the sides I choose, it was yummy! Staff was very polite, service was great. Refreshing to find a place that has great food and service, value very much exceeds price. Everyone needs to try this place. I will be spreading the word to everyone i know in the area. Thanks!

There are not too many places in Utah that can throw down good BBQ. We are not talking about "Burgers & Dogs" folks. However, Smokin Bones is the place to go. When you walk in, you can smell the smokers cooking away and your taste buds wont know what will hit them after polishing off a meal here. First timers must have the ribs, everything else will follow suite. I am glad that Bountiful has a restaurant like this one. Keep those smokers rollin

This is one of the best BBQ place Ive been to, hands down, and Im from Alabama! Their stake burger is one of the best things Ive tasted, and both my husband and me get the double steak burger almost every time we go - 1 to split in the restaurant and 1 to take home. My husband has also had the ribs and said they are so good. We love their cornbread too and other sides too! Very nice family who owns the place and work there too!
