As far as the food is concerned I can not fault it in general. They do a great job at preparation and delivery. However there is one reason I rarely go there. Primarily from 5pm on it gets to be such a zoo of people and young children you cant even hear yourself think let alone hold a conversation with someone right next to or across from you. Another annoying thing (and quite against the fire code) is they allow mommies to park their strollers and baby seats right at the end of the tables in the all to narrow lanes between tables and it become nearly impossible for patron or workers to pass as needed. Its a good thing there has never been a fire there or there would be some real heck to pay for the lives they place at stake for this poor design layout planning. I try to go off hours and never on Friday or Saturday of course as it is just too crazy in there to enjoy the meal. I wish it wasnt a entirely open floor plan with some quiet areas. Oh well......

The last time I ate at Goodwood (4 yrs ago) I ordered the deep fried mushrooms. They looked really good. I took the first bite and choked on a thin wire that was deep fried to the mushroom. It had speared both sides of my throat when I swallowed. I had to stick my finger down my throat and hook the wire to get it out. The manager said it was from a wire brush they use to clean the deep fryer. He then tried to make me pay for the salad I ordered with the mushrooms. I told him i no longer wanted the salad and wasnt going to pay. The server was so kind and unconcerned about me being ok. I didnt pay for any food and gave the server 20.00 tip, I will never go back. I even wrote to the corporate office and didnt hear back from anyone.

Goodwood is not the best BBQ around but it does have one of my favorite sandwiches ever. I get the Honey Stung Chicken Sandwich every time I go here and it is very good. It is basically three deep fried chicken strips topped with cheddar cheese, honey BBQ sauce, thin slices red onion, tomatoes and a garlic mayonnaise on a toasted bun. Other people I go with get their meats but they simply are not as good as their sandwich. The service is always great, the managers are always active and come to the table to follow up on the service. I like the log cabin atmosphere and the wait doesnt seem long even though this is a busy place to eat. I would give it a better mark but they need better deserts and better entrees.

I took my parents here for my mothers birthday. She heard it was a great restaurant. She still thinks its a good place to eat. I would never return. My mother didnt get any barbecue. I, unfortunately, did. I also currently live in Texas. Goodwood has good service (hence the two stars), but this restaurant does not know how to serve barbecue. I ordered some barbecue turkey. It was dry. So I applied barbecue sauce from the table. The flavor of the sauce was dreadful. The proprietors should go to an area where good barbecue is the norm, and learn how 1) to cook turkey where it can be served tender and juicy, and 2) how to make barbecue sauce that is not absolutely dreadful.

Service is consistently good, take out always fast, and the food quality is top notch. Portions are beyond sufficient. Im a big guy and I usually just order 1 entree to split between myself and my GF. Must trys are the pulled pork, chicken fingers, onion rings, nachos, and the loaded mashed potatoes. You probably understand this already, but this isnt exactly health food. Take a look at the waistline of the average customer and youll understand. Still, go here before you even think about hitting a chain restaurant! I dont know how Applebees stays in business right next door, this is 10x better...

I love the Good Wood in Ogden, and expected similar service. Asked for reservations an hour ahead on a Saturday, was told they dont take official reservations and only allowed only a call ahead. I called again right befor we came, they told me the wait time was only about 15 minutes, and with my call a head. The call ahead was completely useless and we waited well over that and people constantly were seated as we were not. We didnt not have enough time to wait any longer as we had to make it home, so we had to leave early. Nothing horrible but defiantly negative experience.

Maybe I just came on a bad night, but the two greeters were snobby and cold, and my ribeye was hands down the worst Ive ever had, it was over cooked, dry and chewy. When the manager came around to ask how everything was tasty she ran off before I could tell her (because I was chewing) that it was dry and chewy. When we were able to get her back over all she could say was that I should have told her earlier and they could have replaced it. Wont be coming back again. Disappointed because in the past its been amazing which is why I recommended it for date night.

Very impressive speed. They seated 6 of us within 20 minutes on a Saturday night. Our server Dillion was friendly and quick. Our appetizer came out fast, and the entrees followed quickly. Everything came out within 15 minutes, and they were cooked well also. Just impressive speed overall without sacrificing quality. The portions are very generous. For a $10 burger or sandwich, they sure give you your moneys worth. Great BBQ flavor. The quality is so high, they are keeping Utahns fat for sure. Highly recommended.

It says a lot about your BBQ meat when you drench it in sauce. I ordered a three meat plate with brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. All three of them were covered in their house sauce which tasted like generic grocery store sauce. It was terrible. They all tasted the same because if the sauce. If its good BBQ then it doesnt need any sauce or at the most, have it on the side. Let the meat tell how good it is. I wont be going back and money is much better spent at BBQ joints like Bam Bams BBQ, R&R BBQ or Pats BBQ.

Ordered the $21 ribeye. Has to be the worst steak I have ever eaten at a restaurant. IHOP has a better breakfast steak than what I was served. A good cook would season and cook a steak that the marbling would give it such flavoring characters that steak sauce is not needed. 20+ day aged steaks my ass. The steak I received had non existing marbling in it, dry and tasted pan fried with no oil. Just terrible. First time I actually asked for steak sauce to give this roadkill some flavoring.

WOW, I never saw a caterer go above and WAY beyond expectations! So glad I hired them for my wedding. Even though we had a buffet they served the guests and when my husband and I were done with photos and ready to eat they brought our food to us. On top of that they provided us with a bartender at no additional cost and she served us table side all nite. Its been over a month since my wedding and I am still getting compliments on how fantastic the staff and the food was! The King Family
