Id been looking for a good place to get some real ramen and this was the only restaurant that had anything close. At first I was a little intimidated by their higher-than-average prices, but was still fine with spending a little more after seeing other reviews on how great their food was. We arrived at about 8:15 on a Saturday night and the place seemed relatively busy. Its just a small little home that was converted to a restaurant, and the interior was quaint and simple. My girlfriend and I were seated after about a 3-5 minute wait and the waitress we had was very nice and had a great attitude. The first thing we ordered was their edamame, which was slightly salted and still pretty warm when we received it. Though it did take about 10-15 minutes to get it, it was obviously fresh and prepared very well. My girlfriend and I finished the whole bowl in less than a few minutes! After receiving them, a nice middle-aged woman who I believe to be one of the owners apologized numerous times for the wait. I told her it was no problem and she promised that our order would be coming soon. We both ordered their udon soup at the same time as the edamame but for some reason it took nearly 45 minutes to get them. Fortunately, when we got them they were still hot. Then soup tasted excellent, and although it only had a few ingredients it tasted great! About 5 minutes into our meal the woman who Id believed to be one of the owners came out to us and explained that they had gotten backed up on a few orders and she sincerely apologized and insisted that she remove one soup from our bill. Of course, I wouldnt refuse the offer and she apologized one more time. Regardless, the soup was still really great and I wouldnt have cared if she took one off of our bill or not. After we finished our soup the woman apologized again and then offered to buy us free dessert: a mochi ice cream. It was just your typical mochi with a little bit of chocolate syrup but the gesture was enough to please us. Overall, the service was a little bit slow but I imagine the same circumstances dont occur too often. Its also understandable considering that it was a Saturday night. The woman that also repetitively apologized and insisted on giving us free food made the night that much better. Even if we hadnt received as great of service of the food still tasted great. Id definitely recommend this restaurant if youre interested in good Japanese food in a nice little restaurant. Just mind that entrees range between about $14-$20.

I hate to leave a less than great review, but this place was less than great. The tuna sushi was pretty fishy and it was nothing special. The prices are much higher than other sushi restaurants and it wasnt really a nice place at all like Tsunami or others. The lettuce wraps were not creative and very basic. Very disappointing that they passed off a bunch of stir fry chicken with 3 pieces of lettuce on the plate as lettuce wraps. The decor inside was pretty stark, it was absolutely freezing in there and it smelled very strongly of bleach. You can tell the place has been around for a long time because everything was pretty old. The server was nice and tried but forgot a bunch of things. Overall, if the owner cares, he or she would step up their game because its going to go under if they dont adapt and get some new ideas and sushi specials. Parking was easy because the lot was empty at 8pm... :(

Well, let me start off with the fact that if you EVER pull up to a place that has a sign next to it saying "turning point" listen to the sign, turn around and never come back. Second, considering the fact that it took almost an hour to get my sushi, the food should not be room temperature. Also, having a server continuously walk past my table, pause at the stairs, and casually make eye contact with my daughter then turn around and walk away could probably be a little uncomfortable for some people. DONT LET THE PICTURES OF THE PLACE AT NIGHT FOOL YOU. I dont know what filters theyre putting on their picture, but it looks absolutely nothing like that. But, I guess if you like dirty restaurants, gas station sushi, creepy servers, and being the only person sitting in the restaurant, then yes, 5 stars.

Came to this restaurant and BAR so I could eat some sushi and have a couple drinks. Was asked for my ID which was expected because I am 21. And was told after showing them the ID that they will not serve me any drinks because I had an Identification Card. And not a drivers license. Unluckly for me Im not able to get my drivers license. So that is why I have an Identification card. After being asked multiple times for different identification and even credit cards with my Name on them they still refused to serve me. Weird that I can buy beer and alcohol from the state liquor store but not at this establishment. My ID is legal proof of my age. Needless to say I will never come back here. And lady that helped me handled the situation very poorly.

Overall, the food was pretty good. Just not a very big menu. Mostly just your typical roll options with a few entrees and sides, although the roll sizes were kind of small. Tempura was top-notch. Owners were very friendly and they are probably the biggest reason why people go back. We asked for some hot water and they gave us a teapot of hot water with limes in it. They definitely treat customers well. All of the customers there were regulars which made for a fun and friendly environment. Pretty decent comfort food just not anything to get super excited about. I probably wouldnt come here just for the food. Food 3/5 Atmosphere 4/5 Service 5/5

I love love love this sushi place! Their food is always so fresh. You really can taste the difference. Its a quite small "home-town" feeling restaurant (which I love). You can really just take it easy and have a conversation over a fantastic meal. This is my favorite family dinner hotspot. The only reason I gave it a 2 out of 3 for service is because of the time it takes for them to bring out your food. Granted, this is a good indicator that theyre actually preparing your food fresh but some people might want their food a bit faster.

My favorite sushi spot ever. Ive tried so many sushi near me and even very talked of places like tsunami ( pg rated date night sushi for teens who want to feel cool) and Takashi (very high end and fresh, great but nothing fried). This place was super fresh and high quality fish and had a great selection of rolls. The kanai, Charlie, among others are super amazing. I loved it. And even husband who isnt a fan of sushi enjoyed all 3 rolls. He said the stuffed jalapeño was amazing too. My favorite place

The head chef has a passion for food that is transcendent. Hes taken staple foods and given them just that little bit of extra love that makes my tastebuds sing. The owners are involved in the day to day operation of Mizumi and the pride they have in their work shines through. I can easily recommend anything on the menu. Knowing that the chef is as neurotic about the quality of his fish as he is, truly, youll be hard pressed to find better prepared sushi in the state of Utah.
