I had the pleasure of eating at the Green Pig last night in the ‘Dine Around’ program. This meal would be excellent if in a fine dining restaurant. For a bar, this was spectacular!! The chicken cordon blue was made from scratch, nice crispy outside, perfect moist chicken inside, amazing sauce that balanced and complimented without overpowering. The chicken was on a bed of sautéed baby spinach, again, perfectly cooked. Slightly al dente, not mushy, perfect seasoning and went so well with the chicken. It also came with roasted new potatoes, lightly seasoned, melted cheese on top. They were perfect, not overcooked or dry, the right amount of firmness. Then, I had the bread pudding. This is something you either love or hate, but a good bread pudding is magic. My (former) favorite is from the 5 star Glitretind restaurant at Stein Eriksen’s Lodge. The Pig’s blew it away!! They bake it, then pan fry it before serving to give it a lightly crisp crust. The vanilla sauce (was that a hint of rum?) was not too sweet or syrupy, a nice balance to the delightfully moist and dense pudding. THEN, they add a fresh blueberry compote, and drizzle with crème fraiche. OMG, this dish was magic!! The flavors were excellent together, and I was pleased there were no raisins in it (not my favorite). Fresh ingredients, made from scratch, with passion. Gordon Ramsey would be so proud!! This place is outstanding, best secret in SLC!! Great prices, excellent beverage selection, outstanding live music, fun atmosphere and the staff are superb, very friendly and attentive. Ignore the idiots who put in reviews before, their experience cannot be true, the Pig staff know how to treat their customers and I always have a great time. Now, I will ALWAYS eat too!! Well done!!! That’ll do Pig, that’ll do.

Really had an unfortunate customer service experience in the Green Pig today. I ordered two orders for pick-up today which resulted in a very bad experience with the bartender who took the order. This is the second time I have had this waitress... I let it slide the first time... but I cannot stay silent the second time. I came in to pay for this order--mind you--there was ONLY one customer besides myself in the ENTIRE bar. From the moment I told her I was there to pick up the order it seemed she had a stick up her butt. To explain her attitude, she seemed to act like she was busy and the fact that we came in was an annoyance (even though I was 1 of 2 customers). Im a nice and caring type of guy so I tried to be patient and communicate clearly. However, she was very short tempered, annoyed by the fact that I had to split the order, rude, and then expected a tip. As I was getting up to leave with the order, she explained (in a very rude tone) that they expected a 10% gratuity next time. I then told her "if there is a next time." I will be clear. Perhaps she was just having a bad day. We all have bad days, but this is the second time I have experienced this with her. Her attitude today burnt the bridge with me. Out of principle, I have no desire to return to the Green Pub. There are plenty of great pubs and bars here in SLC that I will gladly pay my money to support. Furthermore, our company will not be going there anymore. Its a shame.

We took our daughter and son-in-law out to dinner this past Saturday night (4/8/17). It was raining and we were originally headed for Lucky 13. However, Lucky 13 had zero covered accommodations for its customers to wait outside in the weather and after being treated like second-class citizens for complaining about being soaking wet in the rain, we left and headed for the Green Pig Pub. Plenty of room, easy parking around the corner and the food and service was exceptional. This was our first time at the Green Pig and I can tell you we will all be back. Lucky 13 has permanently lost us as customers and the Green Pig has won us over. Its spacious, tons of TVs, great music, food was absolutely amazing...we all ordered something different and it was all fantastic (nachos, salmon fish tacos, green apple chicken sandwich, burger and HUGE salad that our 64" son couldnt finish). Thanks for salvaging the evening for us!!

I loved Green Pig and it was a definite 5 star for me until we went there the third time and experienced the worst thing ever! We were sitting in the balcony enjoying some drinks when one of the bartenders confronted the table next to us telling them that they did not tip. At first we ignored it until she started making pure racist comments. The African couple were not even halfway through their meal when the waiter WHO DID NOT EVEN SERVE THEM began to lecture them about how "Here in America we tip and they should go back to the bush" after she noticed they were speaking another language. The waiter who served them tried to tell her to stop but she just went on and on. Am surprised the couple dint just leave! This was honestly the worst thing I have ever experienced and I am completely certain that I am not going back to Green Pig.

I dont drink, but I love bar food. My girlfriend and I recently went, and I loved the "Chefs Special Burger". The Kobe beef patty was cooked perfectly with just a little pink, and the heirloom tomatoes and ciabatta bun just added to the already tasty burger. The fries were awesome alongside the homemade sweet garlicky ketchup. The nachos were good, and my girlfriends fish and chips were good and meaty. All in all, I loved my food, the service was average, but I expected being a little ignored when I asked for water. Although we didnt even get any drink menu at all (it almost looked like our server removed them from our menus just because we asked for water). Side note: Just enough TVs to watch a decent game and tables werent too crowded.

I have been visiting the Green Pig since Sept. 09, right after they opened and my experience there is always FANTASTIC. If your looking for delicious food at a crazy low price and the best drink specials in town, then this is the place for you. In addition, you will be greeted as you walk in the door with a smile and good service. Bridget the owner always makes a note to walk around and say hello to everyone. Food is prepared fresh and does not fit the typical bar food profile. I have introduced all of my friends, co-workers, and associates to this place and have yet to hear one bad review. This place ROCKS! Try stopping in for lunch, you wont regret it. Jesse

Our cocktail server brought us the wrong beers and just shrugged her shoulders about it before walking off. That was mildly annoying...I was really just there to see my good friends, so almost any beer wouldve been ok. But she never came back...another employee brought our food out...and although I saw her walking throughout the section all night, we were never asked if we wanted another round. It was around 10 pm when we got there, maybe earlier, so its not like we were camping out. There was a jazz band which was great. Other than the music, I was not impressed and cant say Id make the effort to go back, even though the location is great.
