WOW! As if the beautiful view and the surroundings were not enough the food and the music made for a perfect Mothers Day Lunch. The drive up the canyon was amazingly beautiful, the waterfall at the entrance was stunning but no where to park as your coming up the canyon. We stopped at The Oaks because of the amount of traffic and figured it had to be good. Parking was very difficult to find in this small tight canyon but we lucked out to find the only spot left. As we walked in we were told the wait would be about an hour. We had no problem waiting as the day and the atmosphere were just amazing, no rush getting back into the city for us. Luckily, as we we had a seat in the waiting area (which is outside along the river) a performer was setting up. The music complimented the surroundings very nicely. The hour wait seemed to go by quickly. The one thing that would of been nice while we waited would of been enjoying a beverage, but we were never offered one. We were seated at a table that sat directly above the river facing up wards towards the Ogden Canyon. It was like a picture! Made for a special moment on Mothers Day. The atmosphere was just relaxing and VERY enjoyable. We ordered Onion rings for an appetizer. It will be difficult trying other items on the appetizer list because they were so good and NOT greasy. My wife ordered the Oaks Salad which looked like a picture. I ordered the Nochos as a meal and this thing could of easily fed 3 adults. Black beans, Chicken, green onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, Jalapenos and cheese. Oh boy were these delish. All though my Wife helped I still couldnt finish them all. We both agreed that we would definatley order these dishes again but then again im the type of guy that likes to try everything on the menu. So it looks like we will be visiting frequently. The service was excellent and very friendly. Our food was brought out to us quickly and they were packed! You must try their apricot Heffi, YUMMY. Thank you The Oaks restaurant for a memorable day!

Excited to try here for the first time but after our experience we will not be back. We were greeted upon entering and were told to "go find a table and Ill bring you a menu." Seemed odd but Ive never been here and my husband hadnt been in quite a few years so we did what we were told. We found a table outside that was empty and sat in it. After a few minutes, a different waitress came over and asked us what we were doing so we explained and she gave us menus and asked us what we would like to drink. Then some more time passed and a different server came over and told us he had, had complaints about us not waiting our turn to be seated. We left after 20 minutes here, without eating. Im still not sure what we couldve done differently but the communication and customer service of staff here is poor.

Ive been here once before and everything was great. This visit however was awful, we walked inside to be seated stood there for 5 minutes with NO ONE acknowledging us. There had to be 10 people behind the counter doing various tasks and no one even said hello. We walk around back and were finally helped. The wait was long buy understandable. We waited for almost an hour and were finally seated. We were given our drinks and told our server would be right with us....18 minutes later Im still sitting here with an empty water glass waiting for someone In this restaurant to acknowledge my table. I will NOT be coming back. And will recommend no one else does. AWFUL customer service.

Go if you are hungry and its close but dont make a trip up the Canyon for this restaurant. This is a beautiful location. In the warmer months the outdoor patio is incredible. And the view of the river is great. But the food has gone down hill over the years. They need an updated menu. The Hamburgers are boring and are simply a bun and some meat. The sweet potato fries are great. The building and exterior are getting old and need updates. We sit in the same booth we always have and for 10 years the table has been wobbly. This place used to be one of the hottest restaurants around. But with 25th Street getting all the attention time for the Oaks to step it up a notch!

I love it here. The atmosphere makes up for the lacking staff that tend to refer to their customers as "bud." Id prefer some more upscale/healthier choices. Coming in the fall and winter provide a gorgeous indoor experience (get the middle booth facing the river) and sitting on the patio in the summer is divine. The hummingbirds! The philly is my favorite. Wish fries were standard instead of potato chips. Wish desert had other options than ice cream. Sometimes the wait is VERY long. Id like to try the breakfast, heard it is great. Ive been here 7 times or so, those things aside, still fantastic!

We went here for lunch today. Me my wife and kids had some burgers. We got our check and payed in cash. Then the kids wanted some ice cream so we went up front and used our card for ice cream. Some how the waiter got our card and charged us for our lunch after paying with cash. To bad, we really liked this place, but after our card was used fraudulently we will never trust them again! We have reported this to our bank and we never signed anything except for our $11 in ice cream so the $50 the waiter tried to scam us out of I hope he looses his job!!!

I had a very bad experience at "The Oaks" the manager was yelling at me for an order that his employees messed up. The employee messed up on my order and then overcharged me. When I went to ask the employee about it the management was called over. The management didnt try to fix the problem but quickly got confrontational for no reason and chased me out of the restaurant with his two thugs. It was over a couple of ice cream scoops. Do not go to the Oaks they are terrible. No customer service at all....

Not how it used to be. We ordered The supreme Nachos & the cheese was microwaved & the chips were dry. Then my burger Was dry, asked for no onions and found onions caked on my burger. The bun was dry & the meat wasnt done. Only 2 stars because the view & ice cream. Our server wasnt friendly & the staff was yelling the whole time. And when we walked to the front, the cook was on his phone listening to music on his phone. Obviously no boundaries are set. Do not recommend. Nor will I return.

The oaks Is beautiful to eat outside when it starts to get warmer, my wife and i came in late April to take her family and eat and the service was good as well as the lunch food was good. Servers were friendly and came often to the table to offer refills and to see how we were doing. The burgers are really well made and delicious. The reason I docked it a star is because I came with my wife for breakfast before and it wasnt the best and took awhile to receive our food.
