Just ate here today. First of all, I want to say that the staff is pretty good. Not incredible. But they were fine. The food was dissapointing. I got the Vegas Roll and some salmon nigiri to see whether their traditional stuff was better or their cream cheese deep fried stuff was better. Usually Im more of a nigiri guy, but it was pretty basic. The salmon didnt have much color and I couldnt really taste it. I could only taste the soy sauce I dipped it in. The Vegas roll was less dissapointing than the nigiri, but still not great. I could really only taste the cream cheese. The miso soup was ok too. My friend said the food he got was pretty bland too. If I could give it 2.5 stars I would. The place pretty much boils down to being "ok". Its especially weird that its Chinese and sushi, as if they are one and the same. If you know anything, you know that sushi is Japanese and that its not the same as Chinese. Its like having a New York style pizza and Hawaiian restaurant and calling it the same thing, because they are both "American". Would I go again? No. Should you go? No. Where should you go? For Japanese, go to Kobe. For Chinese, go to Asian Star. Hopefully this helps.

WOW, WOW! WOW! We reserved a table outside because we have kids who would be bored inside and there was shade as well as a lovely atmosphere. Mandy (one of the owners) was very welcoming and accommodated us very well. She was upbeat and positive and checked on us throughout the meal. Our server, Ben, was very helpful when we wanted opinions about what to choose to eat. When there was a mistake with our checks, it was handled promptly and professionally. I usually dont like iceberg lettuce on my salad, but the house salad (especially the dressing) was very yummy, yet it didnt overtake the flavors of the salad. I had one of the dinner combos and, though it was a little pricey, it fed my family (2 adults and 2 little children), so it was definitely worth it! Well DEFINITELY come back with empty stomachs and Im sure well leave with full stomachs like we did this time! Definitely would recommend it to others!

This is our go to Chinese restaurant for take out. It is close, and the food is always hot, flavorful, and what we ordered. The menu is extensive so everyone gets what they want. We stick to the Chinese menu as the Japanese dishes can be disappointing. To be fair, however, most restaurants in SLC are unaware that there is no mayonnaise or avocado in Japanese cooking. The restaurant itself is not our favorite place to dine. We echo the previous reviewers comments on the hostess. We assume that she is the owner, as no one would hire such a negative person. The service is adequate at best and non existent all too often. There are definite training issues from the top on down. But they do take out quite well, so we do not ask them to do more than that.

Keep in mind: I went at 4:00 on a Tuesday. I was underwhelmed with Jasmine China Bistro & Sushi Bar. I got myself the dinner special: a California roll, and a spicy tuna roll, + 5pcs. of nigiri. The rolls were okay, and lacking a bit of flavor, probably on the part of the fish. The rice was a little too sticky, and stuck up my mouth a bit. The nigiri was a little too heavy on rice too! Lastly, the wasabi was a tad bit weak. I did not get my once-a-sushi-meal experience of nose pain that I look forward to with every sushi meal. I did like the décor, and the selection is very broad. I should also mention that my sushi chef was asleep on the bar when I arrived. Silly boy!

At best this place is just below average for Asian food even for Utah. Servers are not that sharp. This restaurant could do better with a more customers savvy receptionist. The food is like something I would make at home in a cheap wok. Im not sure why they would put Bistro in the name because this place is far from fine dining. When I say far im talking light years from being average. Ive given this place tons of opportunities to keep my business but they have fallen short for the last time. I give this place a D minus for personnel, ambiance, and food. Not sure how they even got mor than 3 stars.

I use to come to this restaurant alot when i was younger and since it has been taken over by new management it has gone way down hill! The sushi is not very good quality, they are clearly understaffed and the owner never seems to have a very sunny disposition and she does seem to be serving half the time i have been. I have been to this restaurant 3 times in the last 3 months and it has disappointed me every single time. It is not very proffessional to be able to hear an argument in the back of the kitchen which has happened 2 of the three past visits. I am not sure i will ever go back.

The food is pretty good, the kids love it. I ordered a meal to go the other night and after I got home I realized a couple of items were missing. I call to tell them about this expecting push back or at least a little attitude. To my surprise, the woman who answered the phone was very concerned and offered to have the items delivered. I was just calling to let them know, I didnt expect this. The driver was at my house with the missing items within 10-15 minutes and was also very kind. Excellent service. Thanks!

The best Chinese! Their walnut shrimp is the best in Utah, hands down. They also go above and beyond for their customers. We live on a private lane that is really hard to find and their delivery person struggled to deliver on time. Because of the trouble they prepared us a whole new order that was hot and delicious (and had free extra goodies!) and gave us a gift certificate for our next visit. Thank you Jasmine! We love your food.

I dont know what the high rating on this place is about besides the cheap prices. Ordered Sushi special b as well as spicy scallop hand roll. Had to repeat myself 3 times even though the waitress was writing it down. Then she came back to ask me my order a 4th time. The spicy scallop roll came with the scallops frozen add the seaweed was dry and crispy. Helen Keller could roll a better handroll. Would not recommend.

Ordered take out that was just OK for my dog, or maybe not. Since the ownership has changed, they have changed the recipes. The sweet and sour chicken had twice as much breading as chicken, and it was dry. I could comment on the rest of the order but I would just be repeating myself. In short, the food was bad with no flavor. After 15+ years of fine dining, we will no longer be eating at the Jasmine restaurant.

Yummy! This is my new favorite sushi/Chinese place. The service is good and the food tastes amazing. Prices are fairly decent and the portions are huge. The restaurant itself is located back off the street and surrounded by large trees next to a small creek. The decor is slightly outdated but unique so makes it seem more of a timeless classic if anything. I highly recommend trying out this restaurant.
