Found this place in the area when I was searched Google for nearby places to eat. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived and there was a line out the door, always a good indicator of good food. Although we waited a while to order and get our food, the food and service were worth the wait. I got the carne asada chimichanga and my husband the California burrito, we were both please with what we ordered. After we sat down with our food, the owner came up to us and greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. Even if the food was terrible, Id come back for the service alone. All the employees were very friendly and seemed to enjoy working there and I loved that Thur owner went out of his way to talk to us and the other customers. Only bummer is theyre only open until 8:00, because Id love to come here for a late night meal!

Guys, listen I am a quesadilla enthusiast. I have had so many quesadillas in my life that I probably shouldnt even be alive right now. I even pondered the idea of doing my own quesadilla food truck because I thought I made some fantastic dillas But let me tell you. I got a chicken quesa at Hectors the other night and was blown away. I wanted to cry it was so good. By the time I got halfway done with it, the tortilla was just spilling delicious ingredients all over the plate. It was a huge mess, but a glorious one. I also have to give respect to the owner for closing the place down for the week of July 4th. Giving the employees time off to be with their families and whatnot is awesome. Ill be coming back for sure

If you havent tried hectors or molca salsa from what it previously was known as then you probably will kick yourself for ever going to the del tacos or betos all those times. Im not joking when I say its so good we ordered a ton of burritos for my college graduation and set up serving dishes and still go back whenever I can make it in. Chimichangas-steak and eggs burrito- carne asana burrito- and a not so secret is the California burrito but substitute French fries instead of the other potatoes.

It was mediocre. Came here with high expectations and was somewhat disappointed. I got the carnitas burrito (enchilada style) and the meat was cooked to perfection. I would give this place 5 stars for the meat alone, but the enchilada sauce looked and tasted like it came from a can. It really took the whole meal down a notch and detracted from the great taste of the meat. I might try it again, because the food was very reasonably priced, but I would not recommend enchilada style burritos.

Waited about 20mins in the drive through. I ordered the california burrit and three rolled tacos. I felt bad that they were swamped so I left a tip. Had I known what my food looked like and the portion size I would have kept driving to the ghetto to go to betos instead. The portion size was so small and my rolled tacos were burnt. They think they can get away with over charging customers because they are located in a rich area. NEVER will I eat here again.

Hectors has gone down hill fast since Hector stopped working the evening shift. The wrong food has been given to me more than once. Nothing is more frustrating than after a long day at work getting a nice burrito and after you bite into it realizing it was not what you had been craving. Hectors was easily the best mexican restaurant around but when paired with 2nd rate service I will think twice before going back. Good luck my friends

These guys do it right! I went in last night for my 25th time since i moved here from AZ, there was bit of a line but nothing bad, this place is hopping all the time! I would gladly wait in a line 3 or 4 times longer for their burritos and tacos! Great tacos awesome burritos Amazing Customer service. These guys have never let me down in taste or quality, and thats saying a lot because i am very skeptical. Go get the food!

The food here is wonderful, simple, and fresh. The staff is perhaps the best in the state—regardless of how busy they are, they are always super friendly. If you are in need of some quick Mexican soul food, go here. If you are in need of a slower experience, go here. If you just want quality food made with quality ingredients, go here. A staple of the community. My favorite menu item is the fish burrito.

I love fast Mexican, and when this place was Molcasalsa it was best in the city!! Hectors unfortunately had slowly gone down hill. The younger staff is really fun and friendly! Guys there are always good for a laugh even when its busy...the food is still oook, but theres no salsa verde, the portions are smaller and the quality isnt what it used to be. Needs some authentic flair to be back to 5stars

5/5 - Once known as Mocha Salsa, Hectors is a great fast-food Mexican restaurant specializing in really good burritos. It is popular with younger crowds, who often congregate here on weekend nights, and among seasonal skiers and snowboarders who come to Utah for the winter. They have some cool memorabilia on the walls and a cult-ish following among locals.

I love this place. I always go to Betos / rancheritos and almost always am disappointed with the quality of food there and condition of the restaurants. Hectors is always fresh, always good, always consistent, always amazing. The carne asada burrito is my all-time fave I never imagined a burrito could taste so delicious.

Hector and the family are always doing up fast but fantastic grub. Ive been eating at this place for umpteen years. The carne asada is on point, breakfast burrito always hits the spot and if you are not super hungry, the three rolled tacos are just right. Menu items for most, and my favorite burrito in the state!

I was so sad to learn of the new hours, but this place is still AMAZING. I love the chicken burrito and Im a huge fan of their horchata. The owner is super nice and personable. He always recognizes me and treats me like a regular, even if its been 6+ months since Ive been in. This place is a Salt Lake staple!

My sister ordered the super nachos. Their was MOLD in the cheese. They wouldnt refund us and claimed it was cilantro. Their was no cilantro in the plate she ordered. It tasted like mold. Smelt like mold. Looked like mold. TERRIBLE customer service. Will not be going back or recommending it to anyone.

Great locally/family owned business that always satisfies! Defiantly a setup up from betos or ranchoreitos and have great hot sauce! The inside is rad and has a homely feel to it although it is quite small inside. During the weekend nights it can be pretty busy and attracts mostly a younger crowd!
