We went out on a Monday night for Chinese food and forgot that many restaurants are closed Monday nights. We decided to try this place and we are very very glad we did. I ordered the General Tsos chicken combo and the wonton soup was hot and not too salty like many other places. The fried rice was average but the chicken was delicious. Huge chunks of solid white meat perfectly breaded and very good sauce. There was plenty of sauce to even flavour the rice as well. We both got egg rolls and they were hot and crispy and well seasoned filling. My wife ordered the pepper steak and sweet and sour chicken and veggies and she loved it. She never chooses to take leftovers home but she even asked for her own box. It seemed like they didnt expect so many tables to fill and the server was overwhelmed and busy but it didnt affect our meal other than the drinks were refilled slowly. We will certainly be trying this place again.

My husband was yelled at tonight when he went to pick up our to go order. He got there and asked to add a soup, she answered him annoyingly when he asked, then as she proceeded to run his credit card, he asked her for hot mustard, she then yelled at him saying "one thing at a time". The restaurant was not even busy. And she yelled so rudely my 12 year old son even looked at his father and asked why the worker was so rude. My husband informed her why was she being so rude and she continued to be annoyed and rude as she prepared the order. Then when my husband got home she had messed up our order, the additional egg drop soup had no flavor. We wont be returning to this restaurant and I will be sure to tell all my friends and family not to go there either. This company needs to learn some manners and customer service skills and change their attitude or they will be out of business soon!

Weve ordered about 5 times in the past year and a half of living down the street from it. Not awful, but not amazing by any means. No delivery, and the drive through does not have a menu outside. Weve tried quite a few dishes, including general tso, Mongolian chicken , crab Rangoons, chicken teriyaki, happy family, etc, and have yet to find any sort of wow factor. If the location wasnt so convenient for us, we would never eat here. Golden jade and orient express are miles above. Side note: learned today that if a dish says it comes with rice noodles, what it really means is that they toss in about 5 tiny noodles in the dish (Mongolian special #51 in my case) and give white rice on the side. I even called and she told me thats what they do. I found this misleading, so thought I would share.

Im giving this a 4 star review because as great as it is, at the end of the day, its Chinese take-out and Im a food snob. For the 2.5 years I have lived in the area, the food is always fresh and hot and delicious. That being said, I have only eaten here a half dozen times. My only complaint is I sat at the drive-thru window for a whole minute before I realized there was a door bell. They knew I was out and could have checked on me but waited until I hit the button to open the window right up. All in all, this place is consistently good and as long as I live in the area, is my go to Chinese spot for take-out.

I ordered my food to go and when i got there, i decided to eat there, and told her. Im gonna eat here, i have time. I sat down and she totally ignored me. Didnt ask me if i wanted a drink. I finnaly asked her very nice for water and she ignored me the 1st time. Then she finally gets up mad, so i tell her you know what never mind..put my food back in my bag and left. They are always soo rude, like you are inconveniencing them. I WILL NEVER GO BACK..and to top it all i got sick at work from the food.

So I just finished my first meal at Hoi Yin, and I am satisfied. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. The General Tsos chicken came in giant pieces that needed to be cut in half. The sauce for the chicken was tangy and tasty. The egg roll was probably the best egg roll Ive ever had. The low point of the meal was the tasteless wan tan soup and the fried rice. The latter of which tasted very bland. Overall, I would give this restaurant a 6, but there are others that are better in the area.

First....the old women in there are very rude and un-welcoming. Second...the wait is long for ordering out...I came in to order...waited 30 mins my order came out and was wrong...I had to wait 10 more min. I asked for the crispy wontons so I could give them to my baby because she was hungry from waiting, one of the old women rudely said those are for soup only...Third...the food was NOT even worth the wait. It was greasy and flavorless. Ill never go back again.

The service is the only decent thing about this place. I have tried eating here probably 6 times over the years just because it is so close to home and I have never been happy with the food. Ive discovered that Im better off driving a few more minute to just about any other Chinese restaurant to get quality food. I know a lot of people who love this place, but my family and I will not be returning here.

I cant... there are so many WASPy suburban families that allow themselves to think this place is edible. Most of the young people here cant wait to get away. Oh Spring... anyway. If you order the lo mein, you know what Im talking about. Unexplainably popular. Must be the area, because the food and service are seriously terrible.

This is by far my favorite Chinese place, it is pure comfort food. The staff are super sweet. And the chicken with cashew in special sauce, which is this white creamy sauce and candied walnuts, it is a one of a kind dish that I havent found anything close to it anywhere else. They have a lifelong customer in me for sure.

Threw away soup because it had no flavor, threw away egg roll because it tasted like dish soap. Chicken was very average. I ended up eating just the fried rice. First time I had ordered from here and it will be the last. Essentially I spent a seven dollars for fried rice. Nothing else tasted good enough to eat.
