I have eaten here many many times and the place, while a bit quirky with the big screen TV playing Indian shows, its a good value. When you first drive up or drive by you might be put off by the apparent shabbiness of the exterior. Once you are inside you will be pleased with the pleasant decor. The affable owner has worked continually over the years to turn the place into a very nice dining spot. I tend to go for the buffet which, despite some other reviewers complaints, I consider well tended. You will tend to find many standards like tandoor chicken plus occassional new items. Today was a debut of a wonderfully light chickpea flour dumpling in a yogurt curry sauce. (Im not the best at remembering Indian food names, but it was nicely done.) As for freshness, they dont tend to overfill the serving bins which keeps things on the fresh side. For the record, both I and my wife are accomplished cooks in a variety of cuisines and tend to avoid eateries that cannot keep up with our own skills. In general, Star does meet our standards and we have become regulars.

I dont know where to start. At first I thought this place was decent, but I was wrong. They kicked us out of the restaurant for OVEREATING when we paid for the buffet. Story is.... I came with my two friends, my little sister and my little brother. We didnt eat much, but my little brother was the one who ate a lot. They yelled at him....a 12 year old boy....to stop eating and overcharged us because he ate a lot. I understand how buffets charge their customers if they waste food, but my little brother wasnt wasting his food. He just simply got more. They were so mad they kicked us out and overcharged us when we paid to eat at the buffet. Why call it a buffet if they dont allow us to eat as much as we want? I wouldnt have been upset if they simply told him to not eat a lot, but yelling at a kid from the kitchen to the buffet table is a little childish. Hes 12 and doesnt know any better. As any buffet, he thought he could eat as much as he want. If they would have told us, maybe we would have only gotten a plate each. Never coming back again.

Im really picky about Indian food, and *finally* found a place I like! Its 1/2 hour drive for me, but I will be making it often. I went during a buffet, so was able to sample a number of dishes. I liked *almost all* the dishes. A few were too spicy for me, but thats my problem, since you expect some Indian dishes to have some fire. The new owner was charming, and went out of his way to be welcoming. Very clean, very nice. A little small, so book ahead for parties of 60 or more. Ignore the old reviews. Its a shame they are still being considered.

Just got chicken korma take out for lunch. Literally the worst korma Ive had in my life and Ive had chicken korma in Texas and in Michigan at a variety of places. If you enjoy tasting nothing but pure celery salt and cream, dig in! I absolutely detest celery, celery salt and thats literally all I could taste. No other place uses any form of celery in their korma. So gross.

I bought just about everything on the menu, and I was not disappointed with any of it. The spices were traditional and done well. I enjoyed it completely. The service was excellent. I did not try the buffet, but it looked and smelled wonderful. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. I would recommend dining in or taking out. Either way you will be satisfied.

This place is better than i have expected! Ive been going to Bethanys, which is the small asian right next to India Star and one day i decided to give this place a try. Dont judge by its book cover describe this place. Outside looks shabby, but inside is pleasantly decorated with above average foods. I will be going back.

Guys believe me this place is not good to eat. Food is stale and service is worst you can think off. My appetite was gone moment I saw their buffet. It didnt looked fresh. Chef also looked very unproffesional in his attitude. Stay away from this place.

Love love Pappadeaux! The food, the atmosphere, the service! Always great! Try the oysters, and the mixed seafood grill is the best bang for your buck! Lots of great seafood at a great price.

What happened to this place? It used to be really good. New owners, maybe? Not the cleanest interior. The buffet food was mediocre at best.
