In comparison to the "other" Bar & Grills along the beach, the Palms Cafe on The Beach is more of a restaurant than just a bar & grill. The others generally serve deep fried foods and burgers, fries, buffalo wings, shrimp and oyster baskets. While the other guys stop at those few selections, The Cafe on the Beach continues to provide table side service with a better spread of dishes such as steak, select fish dishes, soups, muscles and a great number of other dishes! Its a cozier & pricier establishment but its well worth it. It has a quieter ambiance of a beach restaurant while the others are more like beach grill shacks. Overall, this is where well head out to when Im looking for a real meal on the beach!

Took a while for anyone to acknowledge our presence. Placed app. and drink order. Took awhile for those to be brought to us. Have to pay refill charge for chips and salsa after paying $6 for them to begin with. Server was not very attentive. Bar drinks were not very well made. However the burgers were decent and the views were amazing.

Pretty old and run down, and the food reflected this. Red Snapper was overcooked and overseasoned. Sitting at the bar you loose any aspect of being on the beach (tucked into a nook facing into the hotel right next to the kitchen).

Very good food. One of the best on the island. You pay a little more than other places but its well worth it. Nice setting on the beach and good fans for those extra hot days! The servers are always friendly and very good.

Came here twice on my four day vacation in South Padre and it was wonderful! Great views, delicious food, and very nice staff. It is a small space but I never felt like it was too crowded. Would definitely recommend it!!

Youd think by looking from the street that its nothing but this is a hiden gem. Great food, great staff, awesome environment. Small private and cozy. Bring a date and enjoy the view of the waves from every seat!

Small cozy atmosphere with great pancakes that have the taste and look that they are cooked on an iron skillet. Prices slightly higher than that of a chain like Dennys, but worth the view and ambience

Thus is one of the best places on the Island. My wife and I shared the combo basket and were very satisfied. It is a small dining area but the service and food is awesome. Javier is the best.

Could do a 1 if I could. Not pleasent people at all and we sat in the corner of the restaurant we found some bugs in the very corner of the table. Fooder was not that appealing either.

Very judgemental place. Would even let me go in and eat. They kicked me out. I didnt even do anything. Just asked for a table. They asked me some personal questions and kicked me out.
