I never leave reviews, so this may be my first. We were never planning on eating here, as we were going to try some other local pizza place. A couple mentioned this place while we were on a dolphin tour and said they really enjoyed the authentic home cooking italian food. They never tried the pizza but it looked good, so as a last minute decision, we decided to change plans and give this place a shot. I cannot say ANYTHING bad. The service was quick and attentive, it had the Italian atmosphere, and the food was awesome. The portions were more than enough. As a bonus, the prices are extremely affordable. You will be missing out if you dont give this place a try.

My favorite food is Spaghetti. I love it. I will eat it warm or cold, with meatballs or sausage, almost any style. This was by far the single worst Spaghetti Ive ever had in my life. I didnt finish it. The waitress was unfazed by a big fat guy not eating much of his meal. I had a coke and the glass was small, overflowing with ice so it was basically a shot of coke, and that took forever to ever get a refill. I was very disappointed by a place called "Meatball Cafe" not having quality Italian food.

Thr restaraunt has a nice ambience but it was hot and we were indoors. I had the calzone. It was large but not worth the 15 I was charged. It was ok. Did not like rhe marinara it was too sweet and not very well seasoned bland. The pizza was good. And so was my long island. Although the waitress was friendly, service was sub par since she never asked if she could get us refill. We had to ask whoever passed by. We only saw our waitress when she took order and brought our drinks.

It was good for my husband. I ordered the house salad for $9... it said to have olives, cheese, tomato, and onion on lettuce and romaine mix with red vinaigrette. I got a one inch piece of cheese, ONE green olive, two TINY tomato skins, and two tiny (baby carrot maybe?) carrot slivers. Pur waitor was nice and had a manager swap it out for me for some pasta. But geez. $9 for that "salad"?:( the description was extremely deceiving compared to the salad i was actually served.

The Meatball Cafe was by far the best restaurant me and my friends visited while we were in South Padre Island for Spring Break. I actually went 3 times during my 5 day stay on the island. Great service, terrific atmosphere, and AMAZING food made Meatball Cafe a hit! Their lunch specials are an amazing deal for all the food you get. Hopefully I will get to go back to SPI sometime, and if I do Meatball Cafe will be the first place I go, I cannot recommend it enough!

Bad service and bad food. They were completely everywhere, forgetting things left and right, messing up our orders. They stumble over each other while doing things, even taking an order. It was total chaos and a long wait and they only had two customers. Terrible place. The food also tasted bad. The pasta was tasteless and the chicken was not cooked well, overpriced too. Never again.

My wife and I just had dinner here and everything here was great the service was amazing... Constant attention to our table and our drinks were always full . The garlic bread is a must order! My wife had the panini and really liked it,I had the pizza and was one of the best pizza I have ever had!!! We will be coming back for dinner here when we visit the island!!!

My only 2 complaints are, a bit pricey and you cant have mexicans cooking italian entrees, it doesnt work. Our meals werent all that taste wise. Other than that its a very clean place, very nice atmosphere, very pleasant workers, food was prepped very nice looking but the taste of it was off from what italian food should really taste like. Yes, we are italian.

The salad is pre made and u get one olive and one quarter of tomato. Cheese is there but thin slice. My ravioli came out with red sauce, I order Alfredo sauce. The side of asparagus was raw but burnt Some else ordered chicken dish. Noodles were wrong, sauce tasted burnt, and pasta was not cooked. Absolutely a disaster

My friends and I were atleast the third ones to order at the restaurant. But we still had to wait an hour just to get our food. Even after we got our food, the orders were wrong and the food did not match the menu descriptions. We, along with several other groups, were displeased with this restaurant.

We were really surprised by how great the restaurant is. Dont let the ouside fool you, it nice inside. The food was DELICIOUS, we took all leftovers home because the portions are very generous. Highly recommended and now one of our favorite places to eat at the island.

Service was friendly and attentive. Im very picky about food and love the mom-and-pop style restaurants with truly authentic cuisines. I had the Mahi panini and minestrone soup. My husband had the toscana bread bowl. Everything was very yummy with reasonable pricing.

I did take out which didnt help the food quality, but it was just okay. But definitely get the cheesecake, it was the best part of the meal. The pizza was a little under done and the first bites of the panini were really good but fell off after that.

Extremely over priced. Tasteless food, even adding extra salt pepper and crushed peppers to attempt to add to the taste didnt help . Extremely rude manager, spoke completely out of line. Terrible experience. Definitely never again. Not worth the price.

Service was good and atmosphere was really nice, but food was not great. Meatballs were dry, pasta was undercooked, scallops were overcooked, lasagna tasted strongly of green peppers, and their homemade Italian sausage was dry and tasteless.

The food was EXCELLENT. Everything is homemade and you can taste it! Ive never had caesar salad dressing like the one I just tasted. The pesto and the alfredo sauce were also one of a kind. The atmosphere and service was nice as well.

Bad food , fair service . Mothersday i ordered sausage peppers and onion sandwich and got Ham sandwich, my wifes pasta was way way overcooked and my mother in laws steak did not arrive until we were all finished with our food.

Meal was delicous! A bit expensive especially when you can only get garlic toast as an appetizer, still worth the cost. Servers very nice and ready with refills. WOULD definately dine there again!

The atmosphere was nice and the pizza was amazing. We didnt have any pasta, but the Margherita and meat lovers pizzas were off the chain, and also very affordable. This is a comeback, for sure!

Omg they make their own pasta and sausage ! Delicious! I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Amazing! Only problem is Im traveling and couldnt take the leftovers. Great ambiance too.
