This is a good little Mexican restaurant. No pretentiousness, no fancy upscale dining room, and I give it 4 stars. Ive been here to eat in and take out on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. My favorite dish is the Tacos Al Carbon. Their hot sauces are good too. Enchiladas and other tacos (and soups) are good as well. One reviewer gave this restaurant one star because of a poor quality taco and rude service at the drive through where a female employee asked for a tip. The reviewer must be confused with another restaurant nearby with a similar name (Jaliscos, I think its called), because this place (El Jalisco Mexican Restaurant) does NOT have a drive-through. There is a tip jar at the cashier, but they have NEVER asked for a tip, and yes I do tip even for to go orders. It isnt the best Mexican restaurant in all of creation, but it is tasty and much more than decently good and the prices are reasonable. Try it.....youll like it.

Ive been to this restaurant about 3 or 4 times in state opened. The first time I came they have been open about 4 days the food was perfect. Second and third time I came the food was bland it was missing flavor. I ordered a torta but it was mostly bread hardly any meat or avacado and it was tasteless.I expected a big torta for the price. My mom ordered machado con huevos, and got eggs with some meat and the onions and tomatoes where still raw. The fourth time I went I ordered a barbacoa and a chorizo taco. The barbacoa tasted horrible it tasted old and rotten I spent most of the night in the restroom. My chorizo taco was bland needed more chorizo. Instead of getting a chorizo taco I got a tinted scrambled egg taco. The staff is courteous, nice and very attentive. Their location is OK and their parking is very generous. I dont know if I will venture out to El Jalisco again, maybe Ill get an itch and try it once more.

I have to admit the only thing we have eaten here is breakfast tacos but we eat them....5 DAYS A WEEK! The green sauce is OUTSTANDING (normally but occasionally to runny) . We have tried basically every combo and ALL good. Egg, ham & cheese my favorite. We phone in and pick up to bring to work and an occasional language barrier will sometimes net the wrong combination hence the 4 stars instead of 5. RECOMENDED!

Management was incredibly rude. They did not keep a reservation and then threatened to call the cops when we did not wish to all pay the high gratuity rate after being left with a (new) single server for a large party. We called the cops and were told by the police this happens frequently there. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Good food, but the service has gone downhill. When we first started coming here, it was always an all-around pleasant experience. Now most of the time some of the staff is very rude or there is some issue with our order. We dont go here as often anymore, and probably will wont at all if it doesnt get any better.

Chalupas came in a taco bowl. Enchiladas had carrots in the ground beef. Chicken strips were milanesa strips. Puffy taco was soggy. Waitress was new. Our kida quesadilla n flour tacos were forgotten. Had to wait for them. From Milwaukee, Wi. Would probably only return for the breakfast taco special.

Went for breakfast one morning and was attended by the server who took our drink order. He brought our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We told him we needed a FEW minutes. 15 minutes went by and he never came back. So we left and got tacos down the street.

They were ok , but never go through the drive thru if u want a , Barracoa taco , they gave me a tried out one when I was on my way to work. And a lady there kept asking for tips so I never gave her one she was pushy , black hair lady.

I ordered a Torta sandwich. It was OK but not great. Pricy for what you get. Very oily chips served with the meal. Biting into a grease matted corn tortilla chip is not my idea of delicious.

It doesnt get more authentic for classic mexican food in Schertz. The servings are generous, and the food is delicious. Breakfast tacos are always speedy, and the price is very reasonable.

Dont go. My husband and I got food poisoning from there. We when for Breakfast order the same thing as soon as we got home we were sick. It lasted for 2days. Will never go back.
