Worst investment of food in a long time.. The food was tasteless, expensive for the lack of quality of the food,and greasy. Mind you I only tried this restaurant for the high reviews, but after my visit I am convinced they were most likely written by the staff to attract newcomers such as myself ,completely bamboozled by this restaurant.Ordered some chicharron and barbacoa tacos ,buddy ordered the menudo , we had not ate all day, even so it did stop us from leaving the food almost untouched on the table thats how bad it was. I only tried half a chicharron taco before I convinced my buddy to go elsewhere. I had ordered 3 more tacos left them still in their wrapper. The chicharron was flavorless just nasty looking. The barbacoa was soaked in grease, it should come with a warning wrapper really ,stating the health hazard and come with a liability waiver. Keep in mind I asked for the barbacoa that was on top of the rest of it she even squeezed it a bit and still the amount of grease was unacceptable for any human to consume no matter their level of gluttony. I only opened the barbacoa taco saw it floating in a puddle of grease and closed it right away. Tortilla was basted in oil too just terrible. My buddy said the menudo was expensive , tasteless and not enough to fill you up. He said he would not recommend for cure after a hangover. The restaurant gives you this cold environment feel to it , prison lunch /soup kitchen line type of setup inside . Trays on one end and a long narrow tray stand to the other side . You cannot see the food from all the steam or dirty windows on the food line , they should really put wipers on there or clean them. They do sell a good 2 liter Dr Pepper though.

You open at 5am, and I get there at 6am && youre already out of ALL tamales? Im disappointed in how you conduct your business!! 1. KNOWING its tamales season & youre not better prepared to handle the high demand by staying well stalked to serve tamales until your "posted" closing time of 2pm. Management needs to anticipate that day’s demands....youre not new to this and should know better! 2. During this high tamale demand, you should have a limit per customer; give others a chance...sheesh!!! Whos buying you all out this early? Other businesses? Suggestion: Allow us to pre-order on your website. This will allow you to cater to the bulk ordering business/people and give others who cant pre-order a chance to enjoy tamales as well. I really hope this is looked into, address and fixed by the next tamale season.

Very impressed with a location very clean employees very friendly the best tamales Ive ever tasted the best Barbacoa in San Antonio I would say were here from Corpus Christi due to the hurricane had to transport patients out here staying at the Omni but we enjoyed Tellez tamales and I think one of our nurses that told us about that place her name is Anita shes from Corpus and comes to San Antonio quite often and always makes it a point to take tamales from here up there I give this place on their food and their servers their employees attend

This place has bad service the people who attended me had bad and nasty attitude. They did not have a third of what was on their menu or any condements. On top of not having a variety of food they charged almost 3 buck for one taco and almost a buck for taxes. This place suck and i absolutly do not recommened it. Ps. I hope they actually start paying more attention to their costumers rather than talking on the phone to their comadre and not paying attention to what your asking them.thank you.

For the past 10 years, my family, extended family,and friends have been ordering tamales from Tellez! Hence, is the reason we have never been disappointed with the mouth watering effect you get when you take your first bite of their tamales. I highly recommend ordering the pork jalapeño and chicken. However, all flavors are tasty.

Dont like that when you pull up, to a tamale restaurant mind you, the first thing you notice is a Bexar County Sheriff patrolling the parking lot. The barbacoa is great so Ive gotten used to him by now but I still dont like it.

Only had the Menudo and its on the expensive side....it had a good taste but the pieces of tripe had quite a bit of fat on them...and Im not a fan of machine made tortillas. The food on the taco line looked really good too.

Great food at this establishment, yet the parking is inadequate. As well as the line to order is far too long. Without a "To Go" line, one must wait upwards of thirty minutes sometimes.
