First let me say that this is not my first time dinning at Louie, Ive been to this establishment at least 6 times. All my previous experiences were very pleasant, the food was well prepared and the wait staff was very polite, accommodating, and friendly. Unfortunately our LAST experience was far from pleasant. When I arrived with my party of ten, the hostess showed us to our table. It was two small tables with ten chairs. It was very uncomfortable we were elbow to elbow, I couldnt imagine trying to eat in that limited space. We asked the hostess if the empty table next to us could be added so we could be more comfortable and she actually rejected my request stating that it was too busy for them to spare the extra table. We looked around and counted nine empty tables. The hostess seemed very unpleasant and displeased to be working. She discussed my request with our server and the server reiterated it was too busy. After sitting for a few minutes in disbelief and contemplation; before leaving, we decide to strongly suggest we needed another table. After some staff discussion they moved the table to us. That was the beginning of our terrible experience. When I ordered I asked to sub linguini for penne and I was told I had to order the linguini on the side. After conceding to avoid confusion, my dish came out with no pasta on the side. I asked the server where my linguini was and the response was, the kitchen made it this way. As if I was just to accept it. Im pretty sure she saw the anger in my face because after she served all the other plates she came back to me and asked if Id like to return it so that they could just make the dish the way Id like. I dont understand why that wasnt the initial response. Although All the dishes were brought to the table hot and timely, two dishes had overcooked chicken and one undercooked eggplant. The Eggplant Parmigiana was left uneaten and the server never offered to remove it from the check even after hearing the complaint. If I can say anything positive about my experience it is that I enjoyed my families company. Im sorry to say the above series of unfortunate events has put Louie on my personal restaurant blacklist.

Went to this place one afternoon on a lark. What a great accident! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Usually the music is italian and italian related but it has not been consistent. THE FOOD however has been. Went back that night for dinner and have been back as often as possible since then. Everything I have had so far has been fantastic. Greeted by a friendly staff and excellent service is wonderful but I would eat here if I had to eat it only in the parking lot. All breads and pastas are made in-house. The pizza dough, I found out, was from a family recipe that has been in the family for over 100 years. I KNOW! The owner made a point of visiting everyones table (Thanks Louie) what a nice way to solidify the "family" feel and express his thanks. Good wine list- good beer list. So far I can tell you…. the lasagna was a piping hot (as were all of our dishes) mound of gooey cheese and meat. If you can wait for it to cool down you will be wise (burnt tongue warning) and pleasantly pleased. The rolls they bring to the table were delicious with their cheese and herb crusted topping, I had to ask them to NOT bring anymore, they were that good. Loved the House Specialty "Pasta Combo"- they place several pastas on the plate and then bury them in cheese. Need I say more? Try the "Frita" appetizer plate, and what they can do with a steak (gorgonzola) as well as a house specialty that had lobster ravioli on top with a rich cream sauce and a few large grilled shrimp thrown in for good measure. That steak was so tender and cooked to perfection . All in all, I will continue to go, and highly recommend it. In fact it was so good- I made myself hungry and may have to go now. Hoping your experience is as wonderful as mine.

Horrible experience! They pushed 2 small tables meant to sit 4 together and sat our party of 12 so close together everyone was touching elbows! 15 minutes passed and we still have yet to meet our waiter. We waive down the one waitress we see and she rolls her eyes saying shell just take our drink order. Another 15 minutes go by and she brings our drinks. We sit for another 10-15 minutes before flagging her down again to take our order and she says our waiter is coming. A guy comes and takes our order and we ask for bread considering we had been there almost an hour already. About 10 minutes go by and the bread arrives and our waiter informs us that 3 of the items ordered are out of stock so we need to change our orders. The bread is very dry and hard but we eat it during the 25 minutes were waiting on our food. Finally an hour and a half after arriving, our food is out. Bland, bland and blander... at that point were all so hungry we just scarf it. While we were there we saw 2 couples be seated and just walk out because the service was so slow, another started an argument with the female manager up front. We all left and spent the next hour laughing about how none of us had ever had such a horrible experience before! Skip this place! Update! Only hours after posting this I received a message from an employee saying I was making this all up because they just fired a lady that I must be a friend of! I cant believe how unprofessional this business is! Now Im thinking the fight we overheard with the manager was normal for this place. I will be advising the rest of my 12 person party to also leave bad reviews about our experience! Avoid this place at all costs!

3.5 stars for a restaurant located in a not that amazing part of town, the ambiance is not bad! not fancy by any means, but it does have an italian kinda vibe. the menu has a ton of offerings, and the server was nice enough to point out some of the popular dishes in each section. my roommates and i decided to try the frito mix (calamari, mozzarella sticks, and fried shrimp with marinara sauce). i ordered the tilapia and shrimp livornesse, and my roommates got a veal dish and a chicken cacciatore dish. we all opted for the soup of the day instead of the side salad that accompanies each entree. it was a chicken/veggie/rice soup, which went pretty well with the cheese-topped herb bread. the frito mix was also pretty decent, with a good amount of calamari, 3 mozzarella sticks, and 3 shrimp. perfect for us to share! by this point though, we were actually kind of full. girl problems. but the entrees came out shortly after and all looked great. there is the option for fresh parmesan cheese on top, which was a nice touch. my tilapia entree was great! the fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and it was a fair-sized dish for the price. i tried a bite of my friends chicken and veal dishes though and both were disappointing. the chicken was dry and the veal was weirdly chewy. i would consider coming back for the tilapia dish if i were feeling some good fish! also, be sure to take advantage of the yelp deal ($25 for $35 of food) and check in for a free dessert! we got the tiramisu, which was underwhelming (small, too much cream, not enough ladyfingers) but it was free so i cant complain!
