Average Chinese Buffet. It was my first visit to this buffet. I visited around 8:30pm, the buffet closes at 9:30 currently. Selection was decent, but not amazing. Fried crab, crawfish, fried shrimp, fried fish and baked salmon were all on the buffet. I tried the beef and broccoli which was OK. I had the mongolian pork which was also just OK and also tried the chow mien which was lacking flavor and had some dry crunchy noodles in it. I tried 3 of the 6 sushi rolls offered, including an avocado/cream cheese, an avocado/cream cheese/cucumber/crab, and a tempura roll with cream cheese and crab. None were overly amazing and were cut very thick. What surprised me was the green beans, which was one of the last items I tried. I actually went back for more of this item. They were soaking in some type of oil that was filled with crushed garlic. They had amazing flavor and were some of the best green beans Ive had anywhere. Desert bar had many options, including an ice cream machine, pudding, 3 kinds of jello and assorted fruit and cookies. My waitress came by several times, cleared plates right away, refilled my drink whenever it was halfway down, and offered very good service. As for the restaurant as a whole, the selection was decent, service was good, but flavor was lacking on many items. I would consider returning here if in the area, but overall was not impressed. The price on the buffet was about average, $14 including drink and tax.

I am really really bored
I have a soybean allergy and left happy and full.. After reading the bad reviews... Im guessing we were lucky this past Sunday 5/21/17? All the food was super fresh. Place wasnt slow yet wasnt jam packed. The staff were very polite and very attentive! Kept up with the cleanliness of the tables, refills for us all. It was our fist time here.. I have a severe soybean allergy..so I was expecting just to eat steamed rice and fruit. My loving husband spoke to the older woman in charge of the place. This woman went out of her way for me. She took her time and walked through with me explained what has soy, what doesnt, what might. When she wasnt sure..I requested if she could please steam bonless chicken w some veggies. She said sure! The cook made my food fresh! Overall we our happy and this is our new fav chinese resturaunt. We usually drive over 20 miles out to Wok Inn on culebra. Yet Grand buffet is right down the street. Im usually a very picky eater. These kind people left a smile on our faces. Love you guys

How to start this review? BAD TO THE BONE! Tried a lot of stuff, starting with the hibachi/Mongolian grill. The staff there looked like zombies, absolutely drained of any enthusiasm. The raw vegetables and meats where speed and disorganized. Absolutely no jacked to recognize any sauces, and no one seem to give any light. The choices from the buffet were fresh-ish, but far from tasty. They felt to me like they were missing an ingredient. The "salmon" was not salmon, at all!! Sesame chicken was extremely sweet and "soupy", the chicken in general (wings, barbecued, grilled) was super dry, macaroni and cheese was super spicy hot, my kids were not able to eat it, the sushi... Ah, the sushi... Ew? Go to HEB first if you need a better sushi by far.... And of course, desert. Well, the cheesecake was FROZEN..!!! And the ice cream melted, the pastries tasted old and greasy and the jello was not good (kids said) anyways, Im not a picky eater, but this was by far, disappointing. HUNGRY, BEWARE!!!!

One star is as low as this thing goes? Ok then. Grand Buffet has become the absolute worst dining experience of my entire life. After eating only one plate (a meager amount to someone who usually makes the most out of a buffet), I fell extremely ill and in a failed attempt to reach the restroom, devastated the entire establishment in what felt like a violent, aggressive, and demonically possessed explosion of the disgusting garbage I was stupid enough to swallow despite the initially awful taste. Lobby: ruins. Dining area: a slimy wasteland. Buffet: destroyed. BOTH restrooms: sinks filled to their brims, toilets demolished. The entire restaurant covered in their own filthy mediocrity. A culinary catastrophe. Wouldnt wish such an experience on my worst enemy.

It was a buffet but there was nothing Grand about it! Today, they totally missed the mark... mushy cooked crab legs and unseasoned steamed crab legs. Pink at the bone chicken. Warm watermelon, unsweetened pineapple, barely there sushi, and chewy beef! Naturally when you are complaining, lack in the English is deeper and you are left frustrated and still expected to pay full price...for lousy food. My sons drink was filled 3 times, I received one serving of my drink!

food The staff were polite yet the establishment was understaffed. The crab legs were warm and delicious. They have cheese cake and garlic bread. I wouldnt say the taste was any better but the quality of food was better than most buffets. ***Best tip I can offer is never go to a buffet during a slow time to avoid stale food. And if there is no parking then avoid it as well because the pans will be constantly empty.

I will never eat here again. It was dirty. The food was disappointing in selection and taste. My family sat down for their first plate nibbled at the questionable food and shoved the plate away all three of us including a child who eats everything. We must have spent all of ten minutes there and spent $30 for absolutely nothing. When we walked out the staff didnt look too surprised.

Bad here the food is so bad, I rather eat at Freds fried fish,,,,,the people here are rude and never wash there hands,, please never come to the Grand Buffet off of military drive next to the HEB,,, chopsticks is the better Chinese restaurant to go to or Hong Kong harbor recommending those two for good buffet and oriental Asian foods

They have a good selection, but for the price I dont feel it was worth it. There is another buffet just a few short blocks away that I feel was better than this one, and a little cheaper too. The food at Grand Buffet was decent, and it all looked good, but some of the items seemed a little too oily. The steamed rice was good.

The fried fish is under cooked. The fried chicken seems like they use older chickens and is not cooked all the way either. However the place is kept clean and the people are awesome. They do have some food that is good. I just wish they cut up the salad into bite size pieces instead of having large pieces of lettuce.
