Id been in the area the past two months and decided to give this one a try. Ive been to the one off I10 west a few years back and loved it. So I decided to take my dad to lunch there. I will be honest and say I am never going back. I know lunch is a bit less fantastic than the dinner when it comes to buffets but this one was an extreme disappointment. The staff were great, no issues with them at all but the food was another story. Not sure exactly when they open but we got there around 12 and after filling up my plate most of what I put in my mouth felt really old. Not talking about 4 hours old, more like food reheated from two nights previous kind of old. Sadly we only had so much time to eat lunch before a next appointment we had to attend to, and i dreaded even going back for a second plate. The only thing I felt was actually exceptional were the coconut macaroons, but everything else was just...thinking of it makes me gag a bit. I know buffets in general are not top notch luxury but most ive been to are good, or decent, but the one time I decided to go to this one, it was just below tolerable. We finished what we could stand to eat off our plate, paid along with tipping the staff and left. Both my father and I admitting never to return to this China Sea ever. The single star is for the staff, they were great but everything else was just sad.

this is unfoutunatly the second time i have eaten here, and i got to say the only edible thing on the entire line was the sushi, the chicken in the chicken mushroom tasted old and the breading on all the rest tasted old and gritty , there was pieces of fried chicken in the egg drop soup , the rest of the food on the line had other items crossing over , the crab rangoons were burnt, alltho the steak was tasty the cook was surly and please DO NOT try the new dishes , shrimp alfreado DOES NOT taste grainy and bland when cooked right , they do not cook it right, and dont even get me started on the ice cream!!!! , but i have to say the table server was fast and prompt with removing plates and filling tea , and was very polite , as was the lady who showed us to our table, cant say the same for the rest of the staff,,,,... all in all DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND GO THERE.. stay home and have a hamberger instead., i will never go back there.

I dont rate restaurants but this is my third time coming to this Chinese buffet with my family and I see a lot of bad reviews about this restaurant. So, if you want a good service be a good customer. The (buffet: all you can eat) is good for the price youre paying $10.39 x person. So, why so many haters. If youre expecting to eat at a 5 star restaurant this is NOT the place for you if you have the money I suggest you to eat at Bohanans prime steak and seafood or wildlife seafood grille or if youre the type of person who likes to complaine about money just go to Burger King they have 2 cheese burgers for $4.99 and nuggets for $1.29. I cant believe every time I come to this restaurant I see a lot of rude people complaining about the price, food and being rude to the hostess. Stop being such an ASS holes people of San Antonio. Never coming back to this area of San Antonio

The WORST Chinese restaurant I have ever been to! My family and I came in an hour and a half before closing and the food was awful, unfortunately that was not the worst part. Our waiter only refilled our drinks once after we had been sitting without anything to drink for about 15 minutes. Half way through our visit he took his shirt off leaving only his undershirt on. After he brought the check and took our card he then stood right beside the table as I filled out the receipt. I was so disgusted with his behavior I only left him a dollar, as I have been a server myself and know this is no way to behave. Before we had even gotten up from the table he grabbed the receipt to look at the tip we had left and chuckled at the amout we left. I will never go back.

There used to be several China Sea locations in San Antonio. Sadly they have all closed but this one, which was my least favorite to visit. The selection of food at this location is decent, and food usually fresh. But occasionally customer traffic here can be slow, and some items can sit on the buffet for a while. I was disappointed with this location because a few of the items the old location on Wurzbach used to carry are unavailable here. The food quality also seems to be a step down from the other location that is now closed. This location does offer a limited sushi selection, a steak grill, a small salad bar, and variety of about 2 dozen entrees. Service here is hit or miss, but the buffet price is still decent for what is offered.

Food is below average, but the reason this place deserves one star is because the owner and most employees are very rude and unprofessional. There is one younger female that works there that is pleasant, but my experience otherwise was very negative. The second time I decided to try the food and let them redeem themselves, I was charged a different price! The manager told me that it was impossible I was charged a different price for the same food at the same time, and instead of politely apologizing for the discrepancy, he blew me off. Extremely unprofessional. Go support this business if you want to, but there is literally 3 different choices within 2 miles of here that serves better food and respects their customers.

Disgusting food and unfriendly service. A man sitting alone at the next table was choking and I mean he could not breathe and was obviously in great distress. A handful of employees stood around and watched and made no attempt to help or call for help. My husband had to go over and give the Heimlich Maneuver. The man eventually coughed up what was blocking his airways. Still all this time no employees came by to assist or even thank my husband for saving this mans life. The man was very grateful but disgusted with the restaurant and simply left as soon as he could breathe properly again. There is something really mentally wrong with the employees and employers of this establishment.

Visited here for the second time the other night - will NOT be going back. The first time - it was okay, acceptable. This time - ugh. The sushi seemed and tasted old - fishy, like its not supposed to be, and the egg rolls had been sitting a while (mmm, nice and chewy - yuck) - not much tasted "right." Seafood salad was the best item out that I tried. The ice cream freezers handles were very grubby, which made me a little wary, but I tried some ice cream anyway (not bad - several of the flavors are unlabeled, though). They were not busy at all for a Friday night, either. Waitstaff was very so-so - he kept our drinks refilled and table cleared, but wasnt very respectful of space.
