You know, sometimes food is meh - but its OK if your waiter is on your side. Thats not what happened to us at Bourbon Street. My wife and I were unimpressed with our lunch today. She got crabcakes and asked if it was made lump-style. The waiter said yes. Of course it wasnt - it was a breaded crab patty so hard that you needed a knife to get through the batter. I got gumbo that had very little meat - mostly broth and rice. But hey - not the worst food ever. Not every meal can be a home run. Certainly not something that would motivate me to post a negative review. But then we ordered bread pudding to finish it off. Bad idea. We waited for 15 minutes and eventually got two giant, stale (frozen and reheated) pieces of bread pudding. Again - you couldnt cut it with a fork. Get out the knife. Seriously? It had zero flavor, no sauce and the ice cream they jammed beside it was mostly melted. Terrible. So our waiter came back to our table. We asked for the check. We hadnt touched the desert - one bite each. He never mentioned it. He brought us the check and disappeared again - still no mention. When we realized it was $9 for the desert, we asked him to remove it. He rudely said "Yes" - turned away while rolling his eyes and went to take it off. He came back and handed the card back to us. Never said sorry for the terrible food he put in front of it. Based on the food, we probably would have given a 2-3 star rating. But after being treated like that, Im only sad that I cant give 0 stars. Service matters.

We sat down and it took us about 10 minutes to look over the menu which looked delicious. When it was time to order, one of us ordered the special and the waitresss response was "specials ended at 4pm." It was 4:07. Any restaurant worth their salt would have extended their special 7 minutes considering the place only had guests at 3 tables and we did arrive when the specials board was still up. The food really was good, about a 7 out of 10. The service from the waitress was not. There are thousands of restaurants in san Antonio area. I dont think well GO back to this one. Despite the food being good, I go to a restaurant for atmosphere. The waitress ruined this one.

Went there six times, four sitdown & two for carryout. I was desperate for the variety so I put up with food that was always way to salty. The wait staff was excellent on sitdowns. The carryouts were the straw that broke the camels back. The final time the hostess had to take my order and was not happy about it. I found on getting home that the order was wrong and when I called to complain the manager acted as if he could care less. Ive not been back since nor will I ever return. This was over one year ago and when I saw I could relate my experience here I felt compelled to do so.

This place was pretty good a couple of years ago, but it has been going downhill. The menu is a little tired and the food has lost its edge. We lived in South Louisiana for several years and have had good Cajun cook’n and this ain’t it. Overpriced for what they currently offer. Its like they have some amateur doing the cooking using the old cook’s recipe and they just smoother everything in a sauce. We check in from time to time in hopes that this place will return to what it once was – we’re still waiting.

My family and I make reservations for all our birthdays. We consistently love the pesto and hot bread to all the food dishes. Salads are fresh and plentiful, Family favs are clam chowder, bacon wrapped shrimp, stuffed shrimp creole, blackened specialities and bourbon street shrimp. Love all their pasta dishes.Good dirty rice and desserts are the balm. Esp baked alaska. Highly recommend this place and hope they thrive esp in relation to construction of boerne stage road.

My wife and I enjoyed our recent visit to BSSK. We split the crawfish étouffée as the portions are generous. The atmosphere is good, even though it is in a strip center, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. It may not be as good as the French Quarter, however, it is a nice alternative with good Cajun food at a fair price.

Ive never been to a seafood kitchen but i had a very good night here. We went there on Saturday night so expectedly its packed. But we had good server and very fast service. Ive heard they have couple of locations in SA. Ill probably try their other locations as well.

Wife and I order the fish and shrimp; food was OK not great...but when you leave a restaurant and can talk about the excellent service of the waiter it makes up for the food, waiter name was HUDSON young kid but very knowledgeable

Better Cajun can be had out of the Walmart freezer section. Have spent a lot of time in Cajun county and this for is nothing like the real thing. We were very disappointed to say the least.

Nice variety of choice but I must agree that the dishes seem a bit salty. Love the cilantro dipping oil and bread. Less salt and I bet the dishes shine.

Not bad, not great. Like the fries. If youre ordering for the kids the chicken strips are pretty good and a large portion.
