Was our favorite Asian (Sushi/Thai combo) place since they opened. At the time they were the only option, so thankfully they were deserving of the love. Great menu and great staff. Was there a couple of weeks ago to pick up our "Go" order and should point out that it was early, just as they opened - so, no excuse for anything other than hot & fresh. Well, guess what. Got home and very disappointed. The stand out food wreck was the Chicken Satay - very dry, chewy and stick broke while trying to slide the chicken jerky off. Quanties were lacking and basically each item was sadly underwhelming. That was Bad #1 BTW, this was 2nd disappointment in a row! Bad #2 was when I called to let them know how disappointed I was. Was not looking for a refund or replacement, just thought that they should know. The guy who took my call was same person who handed me my order. His attitude could best be summed up as if they thought they were still the only show in town. He might as well have said: We got your money, dont care. Apparently they havent heard about The Sake Bomb, or The Sushi Box - both wonderful alternatives and now the only 2 choices we consider. Its not often that I judge my food experience based on Honesty: but, when this guy tried to convince me that they had not given me yesterdays Chicken Satay - even said: "I watched them cook it". Folks, im here to tell you that you dont need to be a gourmand to recognize day old over-cooked chicken. Remember, I got there when they opened and not possible to have overcooked - unless your cooking skills are limited to a Suzy Homemaker Oven (obviously dating my consumption experience). Dishonesty was the final straw for me. Never again! Must try Sake Bomb or Sushi Box for your Asian food urges.

After having lived in Canada most of my life, I was spoiled by the competitive market there for authentic Thai cuisine. Moving to Texas, finding THE ABSOLUTE BEST Thai food I have had to date (having grown up on it) was certainly an unexpected, pleasant surprise to find Koung Thai so close to home. Consistently the service here has been more than outstanding, going above and beyond in all facets. Regarding the menu. You would be hardpressed to find better Thai food in the state. Always fresh! (the chef even grows his own peppers in a greenhouse) A vast selection of popular and less well-known choices, healthy as ever, to suit nearly everyone. Spice enthuisiasts will love this place as well, as some of their dishes can go far beyond the infamous "Thai Hot." AMAZING food, GREAT service, and truely a gem of an establishnent!!

Im so excited with the service of this restaurant. The chef came out and expressed that they have tamari and will make any dish made with soy sauce with tamari instead. He pointed out every safe menu item and every item that could be made gluten free. He expressed confidence at having served to gluten free customers frequently. We also had a friend with an allergy to fenugreek, which is commonly in curry. He was able to confidently state that their curry was free of fenugreek, but, for the sake of reassurance, brought out the container with the ingredient mix. Im very satisfied with my experience. Because of the shared kitchen I would not necessarily declare this establishment "celiac friendly," but they are so accommodating, I suggest you try if you can! :-) :-)

We come to Dallas about twice a year and this has now become a mandatory fixture on our trips. We stayed in Rockwall for our honeymoon, thinking we would go into Dallas for meals. Then we discovered this little restaurant hidden near our hotel. The combination of amazing service and food above and beyond any Asian we have ever had made this the highlight of our honeymoon. We were so impressed, we didnt even care to try any restaurants in Dallas. The rich diversity of flavors and the visually stunning presentation of the food makes for a unique and unforgettable experience. The prices were average for this type of food, but the quality was worth twice as much; we would have gladly paid double. We highly recommend this restaurant-nay, we demand you try it!

Ordered for the first time. Very disappointed with the food. The Thai fried rice uses frozen carrot and peas, the spring rolls are not fresh, pad krow just tastes bad, and overall this is the worst Thai food Ive ever had. I always like to make my own opinions on food and this place just misses the mark. Thai food is my favorite food and i eat it once a week. This is the first time i didnt finish my food and decided too eat left overs from last night. The coconut curry could be as good as other customers pointed out, but based on my experience with other dishes, i will not go back. Also, some reviewers claim this is the best Thai food they have ever had....?? I trusted Google review and this is the first time i have been let down. Its too bad.

Thank you so much for providing the food for my ESL class at the Rockwall County Library. We have students from all over the world and chose to celebrate the Chinese New Year in class today. We wanted everyone to experience eating with chopsticks! I realize this is Thai food instead of Chinese, but your restaurant was close to the library and it worked out. I appreciate you having our order ready in a timely manner, supplying plenty of extras (silverware, chopsticks, sauces, etc.) and you even threw in a Pad Thai with chicken, free of charge. The fried rice dishes and the crispy egg rolls were all delicious. Thank you for making this a educational and enjoyable day in our class! Everyone enjoyed the food and had a great time.

The food was decent but the service was terrible for our family of 15. The server took forever to get our drink order and never came back to check on us after the food arrived. He was one of those complacent servers who has been there for a while and felt he was too good to wait on us. We had to constantly get other servers to help fill our drinks or ask for to-go boxes. For service like that, I would have thought we were at McDonalds, actually that isnt even comparable because the service is actually better McDonalds. My family insists on going to Koung Thai because the food is good, but next time I will dissuade them from celebrating anything at this place!

I visited this restaurant earlier today for lunch and certainly overstayed around an hour over the hours of operations (they close at 2.30pm after lunch and reopen at 5pm). The staff was so great that not only they did not asked us to leave but they were very nice and helpful. In addition to a great customer service they also have a great and authentic food... and amazing presentation of all dishes. This certainty is a great place for lunch and dinner ... I very much recommend it.
