We work up north & were excited to try this place. Went for lunch today. We were immediately seated & brought water. They have no lunch menu. It took awhile for someone to come by to take our order (7 minutes?). I asked if the crab dip that was on the menu had real crab meat. He said it was a combination. I ordered that & the lettuce wraps. My co-worker ordered the phad thai chicken. As the waiter was leaving I asked if we could have the crab dip served first before our entrees. He said "well we dont have the crab dip any more, we have crab rangoon." He was going to serve us crab rangoon & not crab dip? I said no thanks. Our orders were delivered one meal 3 minutes before the other. My co-worker said the chicken had no flavor. My lettuce wraps came out in a huge pile of very wet "leafy" lettuce, not crisp iceburg lettuce. It was very hard to wrap the chicken in without it falling out all over the plate. I had about 3 bites of it & realized the chicken was sitting in a bowl of grease. I didnt touch it again. Nobody asked how our meal was; nobody asked if we wanted to-go boxes; we had to ask for the check. After paying, I flagged down the nice lady who sat us & told her I didnt like my meal & why. You could obviously tell because my plate was still full. She said "ok Ill give you springrolls or crab rangoon to go." I said o.k. $10 lesson learned. Theyve only been open 12 weeks and I predict they wont last long.

Spices is a great little find. Its a bit of a fusion/pan Asian restaurant offering a few Chinese dishes, pho but mostly focused on Thai cuisine. The online menu features a lot of dishes but the restaurant menu had a few dishes crossed out so keep that in mind if youre browsing for dinner online. We wanted to start with the calamari but the friendly owner suggested we try her fried shrimp rolls and we were not disappointed. The rolls were like little cones stuffed to the bottom with whole shrimp and a fish paste. They were perfectly fried and came with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that was wonderfully balanced. I had shrimp pad see ew which was full of shrimp and vegetables with the right amount of sauce. I got it medium spicy but couldve gone one level up since I love some heat. My friend had the yum yum spicy seafood salad which came with a nice mix of seafood including shrimp, squid and fish balls. The décor is modern, clean and welcoming and the staff is friendly and attentive. Im planning on going back already because I cant stop thinking about those shrimp rolls.

Spices in at the same location where a failed Mexican place once resided, and still has a little of the latino decor left over, but the food is straight Thai with a little Chinese thrown in. Its family-run and they aim to please. I walked in and was immediately seated. The menu has lots of traditional Thai favorites, so I ordered chicken panang peanut curry - one of my favorites. After ordering, I learned the noodles at Spices are made by scratch, so next time, Im going to order a noodle dish. My food came out in 5 minutes and was served with Thai hot relish pepper accompaniments that I dont recall seeing at other Thai places in KC. Nice clean bathrooms. Plenty of parking. Take-out ordering. Perfect portions. I was very pleased with the spicy yet balanced flavors. It was also fun sitting at the bar and watching the staff operate the modern, fancy restaurant POS. Cannot wait to go back.

Been here couple times. Food is good but management must be horrible or full of cheap minded people. Do not ever come to this place during lunch if you want a good dining experience. The service is horrible and they deny you from ordering certain menus just because they are "busy". Food takes forever to come out, and the quality isnt up to par since they are "busy". Except there is no line... This place is decent when its not busy, but who wants to eat off hours? They are understaffed and havent made a singlr improvement throughout the times Ive been here. Slowly they will lose customers who chose this place for lunch, and by then it might be good to visit again since it wont be busy I guess. Honestly, they shouldnt fill up tables if they cant rotate them. 0 line means not busy. Please talk to me if you read this review right now, Spices management.

We went here last night for the first time and my family and I loved it. There was a new girl being trained so I didnt mind that it was a bit slow to get our orders in. After she got our orders though, our food came out fairly quick. We were served our appetizers first and by the time we were finishing up on those, our food was brought out. The portions were very good too. My 7 yr. old son and I shared the Combination Fried Rice and we still had some left over after filling our bellies. My husband ordered pho. This is probably his third time having this (ever) and he said this is the best one hes had so far. I LOVE spring rolls and the ones served here are the best (in my opinion) compared to other places weve eaten at. It was a very quiet and intimate atmosphere. I know that we will surely be coming back here to try other dishes on the menu.

Middle of the Road Thai Asian fusion food. Flavours were off in simple Thai staple dishes such as the Phad Thai. It tasted really yeasty. There were stickers on the menu covering up most dishes they were out of and we just happened to try to order the other 4 or 5 they were also out of. The condiment tray had coarse ground red peppers of some sort in it. Not fine ground Thai bird bird peppers one would expect at a Thai restaurant. The Summer rolls, made with Tofu and the Service were the redeeming qualities of this restaurant.

Service was very slow. Food had no flavor and missing spices. Ordered dumping they were not made in house. I can buy this product at the market for .99 for 12 and they dropped them in the deep fryer. Very greasy and nasty. The food is the worst in kc. They should be ashamed to serve crap like that. Had something called the three kings mushrooms. With shrimp and scallops. Very fishy not fresh. Over cooked everything. Dont eat here if unless you need a colon cleansing. You wont stay off the stool for long.

Ok, seriously, if you like curry, go here. Service is a little slow but not unreasonable, and they are friendly. Prices are reasonable, decor is nice, it is clean, including the bathrooms. Theres multiple options for curry and some pan-Asian fare. This is better food at a better price than LuLus with better parking. Both the red and green curries are great with ample portions. The drawback is that its across the river and you wont notice it unless youre looking for it, so look for it.

Best Thai curry place I have ever been to. For less than 10 dollars I got the awesome yellow curry!! You can ask for special opinion like "Thai hot " in the curry, and I can tell you its a complete different experience from any kind of hot you have ever experienced. They also have all the regular Thai food options like snacks and noodles. Those are really good as well. Service is brilliant!! Anything you need? Just ask for it and they will be around every 4 minutes or so
