NEW OWNERS!!!!!! My whole family noticed the difference! Weve been going there ever since they moved to the brand new location on Wedington, some 7-10 years ago! I was playing it off as a substitute cook for a Sunday and was HOPING it wasnt what the rest of my family thought. But I ordered 2 hot & sour soups on 6/16/17 and it confirmed what we were hoping wasnt true! This WAS the best Chinese in Fayetteville but not at the moment. The food is kind of close but just not the same; the hot & sour tastes more like chicken soup with tofu and spice, and the appearance is lighter, my guess is less soy sauce. The curry chicken was bland compared to what I used to get. I gave it two stars because, in my book, they have a lot to make up. I felt a bit deceived not knowing I would be ordering food that was NOT what Hunan Manor used to be. The staff is completely different; I loved the old staff-you knew it was a authentic family effort. We WILL be trying all the other Chinese restaurants in the area to find something more to our liking, more like the old Hunan Manor. I know its hard taking over an established, local food venue but Im not on board yet and its hard to say if we will ever be on board. We, as a family, didnt eat out that often but when we did, Chinese from Hunan Manor was always an option. I am bummed out about the change. It was TRULY my favorite food to eat. Now I have to find something else or succumb to something that is less. GOOD LUCK, Ill give it six months and well try again. In the mean time, we are not eating there :(

This is my favorite chinese takeout restaurant in Fayetteville so why three stars? They make the dishes I like best of all the places Ive tried in town, but the staff cant get it right. They like to close the bag up with staples if paper and tie it off if plastic, and so I didnt check them, but 6 of the last 6 times they have made a mistake in my order. It didnt bother me at first, and the mistakes were minor, usually I asked for one sauce and got another, but then I got the wrong entree, and I was mad. I said I would complain online, but I was talked down, and I relented. This time they for some reason put the food in a styrofoam clamshell instead of the paper carton, and put the clamshell in a bag with all napkins and whatnot. So this bag is a riot of slop with sauce stuck to everything because the clamshell is overloaded, and not watertight in the least. I always order the same thing so why is it always wrong and why is it always different? tl:dr 3 stars, check everything before you pay, expect to have them re-make something.

My review is based on the buffet. I liked the orange chicken and the beef & broccoli, but none of the other food. Pretty sure they used spaghetti noodles for the lo mein and the same batter for everything they fried. The batter was good, but some things would be soggy and some crispy. The egg rolls looked like they were probably bought frozen. The tables are almost elbow to elbow and youre in line for pretty much everything since there is only one buffet table about 6 long. Maybe 15 items. Some typical Chinese food, but poorly executed dishes. It gets pretty messy with 6-8 hungry people up there at once, but it works out. I saw other patrons straws touching the soda station as the were refilled by the staff and I was pretty grossed out that they didnt realize they were doing it. Fresh glasses or an update to their refill procedure would fix that. Id expect some of these things from a $6.99 buffet, but for twice the price I cant see myself going back soon.

"RTC307 a year ago Made this review even before the food came out. Arrived at 8:30pm to sit down and eat. Sign said open and they close at 9pm but buffet had already closed. Not to mention the whole time we were eating someone was sweeping hall around our table and everything was in the process of being cleaned. I know its a Friday night but you still have customers!" uhh... what did you expect... it was 30 mins to closing time... every business does that...for example, try going to a deli at walmart at 8:30... but they will have begun cleaning and not have a whole lot of food out in the hot case. i used to work in a walmart deli... we begin cleaning areas at 7:30-8:30 depending on staff and business. note: i put 3 stars to be fair to the business as i havent been there... yet.

While waiting on the waitress to come take my card for payment, I decided I would write a review on my first (and only) experience here, and leave 2 stars. Apparently they dont accept prepaid AMEX card as a form of payment. My vehicle was still warm from when I had initially arrived at Hunan Manon (7 and 3/4 minutes prior) but I decided a walk next door to the ATM to withdraw half of my childrens tuition, might be productive.. After all, I needed the excerise to help settle the bland 3 pieces of rice, 1 noodle, 1/2 greenbean, and bread with a hint of chicken covered in lemon goo that I had just previously consumed. The food was terrible and the choices were slim. In summation, if you want to have a similar experience to the one I had, put Hunan Manor on your bucket list today! :)

Went during the lunch hours. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, atmosphere was pleasant and cozy; these were the only things that save this place from a 1 star review. Of the negatives, the buffet options were incredibly limited, everything was either drowned in soy sauce or bone dry. Additionally, spaghetti was clearly used in place of lo mein noodles, and the few dessert options were clearly store bought (Still in the plastic trays straight from the package). Last, the majority of the options that bring me to chinese buffets, such as pepper beef, general tsos chicken, orange chicken, steamed dumplings, and crab rangoon, were not present. Not worth the $12 price tag for ten feet of buffet bar and such low quality food.

Hunan Manor is a very professional place. I used to wait tables there, and the owners are just the nicest people and very lenient yet professional. The food is awesome especially the House Special Chicken with the broccoli. The environments awesome and its a great place to spend some quality time with your loved ones. They treat their workers very well too. Oh yeah and for Appetizers; Id recommend the "Pu Pu Platter". Theres so much quality food for such a good price. Oh yeah, and if you have an acquired taste for certain foods make sure you get what you know tastes good. Ask the waiters for the texture and taste of foods and theyll describe it. That way, you wont set yourself up for disappointment. Enjoy!

to be fair, this place has excellent environment and is professionally run with good service. However do not go there if you want have the taste of Chinese food, even for Americanized ones, as the cook is terrible and he overloaded the food ( it was fried jumbo shrimp in my case) with salt (you dont need much salt for shrimp unless it is rotting, but i can tell my shrimp was fresh), and the sauce was also overloaded with sugar an vinegar. I think the cook has no clue how to cook, Chinese or American. What a waste.
