The Boiling Pot provides for a fun, interactive seafood dining experience complete with a food hammer. We used to stop by this place periodically with my family when I was a kid during our trips to Rockport to visit the beach. Atmosphere: Casual, kid friendly restaurant with walls adorned with pictures and drawings from previous diners. Every table is layered with thick white butcher paper for patrons and children to draw on before the meal arrives. You are welcome to donate your masterpiece to the collections on the wall. Food: Depending on what type of seafood you prefer, but the fresh shrimp, stone crab claws, blue crabs, potatoes/corn, and Boudin sausages are top picks. All options are ordered by increments of the pound or you can select from the combos. Whats unique about the Boiling Pot is that when the food arrives, the hot mix of Cajun spiced food is dumped in the center of the table for you to slowly devour. Each individual is given a wooden food hammer to use to crack open hard crab shells/claws as well as a plastic bib to protect your clothes. You can also ask for warm melted butter to complement the seafood. Make sure to leave room for the Key Lime Tarts for dessert!

Go here! This place is excellent! Their menu is very simple, you basically choose their main option of 1lb of shrimp, 1 crab, sausage, potatoes, and corn for $18. And they have variations of that meal. We got the one that had an add additional 1 lb of crawfish for $29. It was so good! The seasoning was very flavorful and spicy but not super spicy. We didnt finish it all (we had 2 people) so I feel that their serving sizes were adequate. They also have appetizers like oysters, boudin, and red beans and rice, but I didnt want to fill up on that before we got our main course. It took a little bit to get our meal but its because they boiled everything so its fresh. They do not have grilled or fried anything and do not serve fish. This is a place that only does boiled seafood, hence the name, "The Boiling Pot." The beer selection was nice, all in bottles and I saw they do have a small selection of wine. Its a great experience if you wanna get your hands into some delicious crawfish and shrimp and you dont mind getting a little messy with your food. So good! B-)

This is the worst quality and most expensive cajun food I have ever ordered. It was beyond pathetic. Long dead crawfish boiled and served. Two pounds ordered, 12 cajuns sitting at a table, and we left about 1.5 lbs sitting on table. Nobody could believe how horrible this food is. 5 dollars for a SINGLE blue crab that was not even legal size. 5 dollar kids hot dog, was a cold weiner with a slice of white bread. Are you kidding me? Super long wait to get a table. Twice as long wait for food. The kids hotdog came with the check!!!!! Where is the 0 star rating? This restaurant sits across from an expensive hotel, their whole business revolves around ripping off these hotel guests. There is no way this restaurant could stay in business any other way. Save your money and frustration, pass this one by, no matter how busy it looks, they are all unhappy customers OR people trying cajun food for the first time in their lives and have no idea how bad this is.

I have eaten at this restaurant for quite a few years and had good experience until today. I stopped in this afternoon for late lunch with my fiance and while the hostes was looking for a table, another couple came in and asked for table for 2 as we were. However, they were taken direct to a table to be seated. I asked how they were taken directly to a table (there were at least 5 empty clean tables) when we had arrived first and the response was that they were waiting for them to clean our table. Bunch of nonsense. Why were the couple that got seated wait for that table? Forgot, the hostes was white and the couple that got seated first were white and we were not. Never like to bring up racial issues but this seemed very blatant bigotry. I left the restaurant and ate elsewhere. Needless to say, I will not visit this place again and will let my friends know of this restaurant being racially biased.

Have been coming here for a very, very long time. Never had a thought of service being especially good or bad. But visiting there today was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had (and the food tasted fine). 45 min wait for food after we placed are order, which I dont understand for a party of 5 that literally orders one big dish. We got up to either find waitstaff or get our own drinks no less than 5 times. Again, no less than 5 times for getting our own water, tea, beer, seasoning, etc. We were never given bibs (gave up on that one) or lemon water to clean our hands at the end (things were just laughable at that point and we couldnt get out of there fast enough). Im sure this is a management issue, but given the sorry state of service I doubt they care about reviews. Hoping this is helpful to others.

If I could give them zero stars I would very disorganized the waitress were to busy to take care of the customers waited there for about 30 minutes for my order which had been ready for a while until I had to ask someone to check on it again they came back and they told me "its ready but I need to someone to check on it" I was like what to check on what If is ready then give I had pay for the order as soon as I got there whats there to check on if is ready hand it over instead she just went back and kept chatting with the other employees( before anyone says anything I order by phone before I got there still had to wait ) ridiculous and way to expensive shrimp looks like it has been over cooked and re cooked and cooked alot of times and they dont even take the digestive tract vain or( the poop vain) disgusting

I used to love this place. We go every year on our vacation but this time was the worst. I usually never complain about service... When we sat down we didnt get our drink order for 15min. The table sat after us got their order taken asap. I blew that off at 1st. Then we werent asked if we needed the bib at all. And my kids didnt get any colors .Again I let it go. Then our server kept checking the table next to us and only checked on us twice. I had to ask other servers for refills, 3 times to be exact(no lie!) At that point I was getting ticked off. When we were done we waited for a while. Then I had to get up and ask the host to ask the waiter for the lemon water and the check.... The only good part was the host when we got there. She was very sweet and did her best to get us a table asap.

I loved the food especially my crabs i so love crab but most of all that was very inpressive to me was our waitress her name was Victoria we highly recommend her she was awesome and attentive to us we had asked if there was any way we could get a table inside it was to windy and the girl that was the hostess seating folks down told me no with a tone but when i asked Victoria she was very accomedating and we appreciated so much made our first visit to this estsblishment much more enjoyable. We will have to bring our grandson and we will be asking for Victoria as our waitress again. Thank you Victoria for making our dinner so much more enjoyable. She is an asset to this establishment.
