The food was alright; the price was standard; the real problem was portion sizes. We walk in, sit down, and the waiter asks what we want to drink. I asked for a Dr. Pepper; my brother-in-law asked for a Sprite; the rest got tea or water. The waiter accepted the order and left; he neglected to inform us that they did not have soda on tap. He gave us a can of Dr. Pepper and a can of Sprite. So I asked if that meant we didnt get free refills, and the waiter just looked at me and smiled, as if he didnt understand my question (though he had thus far demonstrated a decent grasp of the English language). I asked again; he smiled, and then left. When he came back, I demanded an answer, and the answer was no. Those cans of soda cost $1.75 apiece. When I got my meal (I ordered enchiladas), it was small. The enchiladas were glorified taquitos, and they gave me about a single small spoon full of rice and beans each. The food tasted alright...for all of the 12 bites it took me to finish it. Best items: the queso blanco and the flan. Not enough to make it worthwhile, though.

If youre looking for Mexican food, definitely do not go here. This food is bland as can be. The salsas arent the least bit spicy, the white queso tasted like flour. We then ordered the Cancun tacos (shrimp, cucumber Pico, avocado, spicy orange sauce) and brisket tacos. The shrimp in the Cancun tacos tasted like freezer, the avocado looked a day old, the orange sauce tasted like bad Louisiana hot sauce. The brisket was also bland, and was accompanied by a single slice of poblano pepper and some forgettable melted cheese.each plate had a little pile of "Mexican" rice, that tasted like it had been cooked with some chef Boyardee tomato sauce, and then fried until it was super dry. The service was also fairly slow, but it definitely wasnt the worse about this place. Wont come back and cant recommend to anyone.

Its not this location specifically, this food in general is really not good. I tried all of their salsas and they literally all had a bad flavors. The queso blanco with no meat was edible, but nothing to brag about. Black beans were way to sweet. Tacos al pastor did not resemble the tradition flavor and spice at all. The mushroom and poblano taco was the only one I finished but I was really hungry... I still wouldnt recommend that one either. Again, its not this location at all, the staff was very friendly the place was clean but I just dont want anyone else to waste another $18 on a really disappointing taco experience. This was my second time eating at Taco Diner and I wont be fooled into a third time.

Was looking forward to trying this place for the first time but never got a chance to try the food due to the horrible service or lack there of. Walked in was not greeted but didnt worry about it stood at the To Go register waiting to place an order as the manager continued to work on the computer, never looking up to acknowledge me after five minutes she walks off and I stated to her " I guess I dont need any help?!" She says, "Oh sorry sir I thought you already been helped." I said in response "You dont know if you dont ask." I then walked out, no establishment will ever get my money if they cant even acknowledge Im standing right in front of them.

Excellent food and great service...when the manager is around. My boyfriend and me both ordered a specialty meal. It came out wrong and had to be sent back on both orders. We called the manager over and got a new meal. My drink was also neglected entirely, six servers walked by and did not ask if our meal was okay and how was the service. The Manger is what made our experience better. After we explained what had happened this evening to him he waved our entire meal and asked us what would make his store a "better place" to enjoy a meal

Edit 8-3-2017: Recently changed my review from 5 stars to 4 stars because I came on a Thursday night and the service was pretty terrible. It was very busy and Im sure everyone was stretched thin but being able to keep high standards during the rush is what separates the 5 stars from the 4 stars and Taco Diner just couldnt keep up recently. Still a great restaurant... just consider avoiding the high - volume time slots! Original Review: Delicious! One of my favorite spots for up-scale(ish) tex-mex! Try the nachos mas elegantes.

I think this place is too expensive, and the tacos are too small. Flavor is reasonable; the chips and salsa are very good. Service is poor; several servers ignored my empty water glass. The vibe is cool, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and modern. Parking is very hard to find at lunch time, but that goes for any business in this area. I probably wont come here again just because of the prices. $11 plus tip for the small little tacos and rice just doesnt seem worth it to me.

The tacos were unusual and wonderful. My family tried three different varities and loved them all (Beef, Pork, & Fish). My favorite was the pork tenderloin with pineapple (Amazing!). The portions are not huge so you may need an appetizer, also ask for more lettuce and fixens for the tacos because they dont give you much. Be sure a bring your reading glasses the menu has tiny print.

While the staff was friendly and attentive, the prices reasonable, and the service timely, the food has something to be desired. The salsa and guacamole served is sparse if you have four people, and has a very unusual taste. Both sauces felt like an experimentation in the wrong direction. Food portions are also small, and the food seems rather greasy for what it is.

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. FOR REALZ. Consistent adequate service, excellent food, and a great patio (until afternoon, then its hot as all get out...) The service is okay - nothing to write home about but you wont be dying for a water refill, either. The ceviche... holy moly. Fresh, delicious, and full of shrimp and avocado - yummmmmm!

There are dishes here that I rarely find outside of a Mexican Taqueria or Food Truck, but Taco Diner successfully brings them to you in a modern and fresh environment. There are a few locations around DFW and all of them deliver the same quality and experience. A great choice for a night out with your s/o or a business meeting.

I love this place!! The staff is so friendly and accomadating. I try to come every Friday to see Juanito he is such great server The best part is the delicious food so darn tasty!! My absolute favorite are the fajitas and the mambo taxis. The outside patio is a good place just to relax and unwind! Give it two thumbs up!!

This beautiful Mexican diner was perfect for ladies night. On a Friday night they had drink specials! That rarely happens in bars in Denton. I paid $5 for a great margarita. I will come back to try the food at some point! Truly though, the aesthetic on the inside is what made this five stars. So beautiful and clean.

We thought it was okay. Have had better. My friends had a chicken dish they really enjoyed. It was a fried cutlet and some red cream sauce. They said it was great. I had a taco salad, with fajita meat, it was good except they left the membrane in and so it was a little too chew, if you know what I mean.
