This is by far the worst restaurant experience i have ever had and the worst Mexican food I have ever had. It is so bad it almost seems like a comedy movie. My husband and I came here on a Wednesday night after work. We were seated at the bar that looks to the kitchen and immediately we started noting red flags. The kitchen where they were making the food was a mess. There was chips lying around everywhere and dirty rags around area where there was coming out. The waiters were all running around like they did not know what they were doing and the whole atmosphere seemed chaotic from the get go. I ordered a chicken fajita plate and the meat was absolutely awful. The chicken tasted like it was left sitting for a long time dried up in a skillet then left sitting on a cold plate for an equal amount of time. Everything on my plate looked that way. Then during out meal we noticed one guy in particular who was shamelessly committing so many errors. He stuck his finger in the bulk dip container to stir the dip. He was picking chips out of the common bowl that waiters were using to refill the customers chip bowls and eating. He was walking around the kitchen coughing in his hands and texting on his phone.. Lastly, he took one of the cooks from the kitchen and introduced him to one of the customers who was calmly eating her dinner so that they could flirt. We would have told the manager, but he looked just as inexperienced and lost as everyone else that was there. I am not a picky person and it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. This restaurant was the biggest dining outrage I have ever experienced before.

I decided to see what the buzz was about and went to Taco Diner in the shops @ Legacy. I was alone so I sat at the bar. I ordered the brisket tacos which were great! I ordered a margarita on the rocks, which the server up-sold to top shelf. Apparently all top shelf margaritas here are the same price, $14. I did not know this until the bill came. I was not offered a choice of the many tequilas, the server browsed the selection and settled on Sauza Hornitos. Good but hardly worth $14. The server than hand made the margarita it in a cocktail shaker which had previously been used to make a Mojito and not cleaned out afterwards. So my $14 rita was full of little bits of chopped up mint leaves. The server saw nothing wrong with this. Not exactly the way I like it. I wouldnt have accepted the drink if Id realized the cost. I thought it would cost $10 at the most! Also, before I left I watched a female server knock over a container of clean forks onto the floor, then simply pick them up off the back bar floor and put them back into the service tray like they were still perfectly clean. She saw nothing wrong with this!

Unfortunately, we were seated at a dirty, sticky table. I asked for it to be wiped clean, so the guy did indeed grab a wet towel and did a light wipe over of the table, but it essentially did no good what so ever leaving all the sticky residue behind. The employees obviously take NO pride in their work, instead they must be there just to punch the clock and get paid? Anyway, next come the flies. They landed on both me and my food. If we were seated outside I could have overlooked this - BUT, we were inside. I had the crispy tacos plate. The taco shells were so hard it was a challenge to bite and chew. I finished what I could, tipped the waiter over 20% and left without complaining. I dont want to complain and make a fuss when Im at a restaurant - Instead I never go back. I hope this online review helps others. I would avoid this place if you are in West Plano - there are many other much better options.

Stopped here on the recommendation of a friend who declared our dinner #TacoTuesday. It was a great suggestion. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive keeping our drinks full, our food coming out fresh and hot and getting us special items when requested. We had shrimp, "traditional," chicken Al Pastor and poblano with mushrooms tacos, They were all quite good. Even the rather plain-looking traditional taco had great flavor. We had pico de gallo and jalapeno with honey as condiments. They were very good and complimented each other nicely. The only thing I thought was "so-so" was the queso with meat. It was good, but not great. I recommend this place for lunch or dinner, whether its #TacoTuesday or not. Great service and food make this place a great stop.

Usually I love Taco Diner! But this place has Awful service! My girlfriend and I went here to eat and drink on Sunday afternoon. We were sat at a table but had to grab a servers attention to order a drink. 40 minutes went by without anyone asking us if we wanted food. I talked to the manager and she gave us a bowl of queso to apologize for the awful service. The queso was cold and tasted watered down. Im usually not one to complain but this place really disappointed me. I work in the service industry so I am usually sensitive to service issues but this experience was unexcceptable. Will never go back.

Pretty good spot to hit up on Wednesdays when their signature drink "Mambo Taxi" is half price all day. The food is good but I wouldnt consider it great based on their fajitas. Any Mexican restaurant that uses flank steak rather than skirt steak loses points in my book. Their fish tacos are most likely your best bet. If its after hours and you have a buzz stay away from their bar. They charge around 10$ for girlie shots. Can add up quick if you are with a large group of girls. On a side note, the green salsa/sauce they give you with your chips is great. But they are really skimpy with it.

This was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. Our waiter was so completely clueless after 15 minutes of waiting for our drinks I had to go to the bar and order my drink on my own. I got our drinks in 1-2 minutes. While I was waiting for a manager 3 more people came in to also complain to the managers about their service. I had to wait in line to give them feedback. The managers had absolutely no clue or no empathy about the situation. Seriously wouldnt recommend this place to my enemy!

This restaurant gets cheaper and cheaper by the day. They used to have 2 pieces of potatoes on fajitas, they got away with it, wonder how much theyll save on these 2 pieces. Then started making fajitas smaller and smaller. As of Dec 2015, they put 4 or 5 thin pieces on the skillet. They pre-cook the meat, and it is so dry and stale that resembles beef jerky. They must have a new management that is running this restaurant to the ground. We will not go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Im not just some random Mexican food eating dufus. I love my Mexican food and this place was awesome! Our server, Jesse, was outstanding! We were greeted quickly and pleasantly, seated immediately, and our drink order was taken right away. The brisket queso was really good as were the tacos. Jesse, our waiter, had the appearance of Fabio and the serving skills of Martha Stewart, leaving my woman speechless. Thank you taco diner for an outstanding evening!
