Place was slammed, but we went on Fathers day weekend in June with Slitterbahn right next door. So, what do you expect. The wait actually wasnt that bad, but we were a couple. There were folks that had 10 in their party expecting to get seated immediately. This is unrealistic expectations. The problem with New Braunfels is that Slitterbahn has ramped up tourism exponentially while the local eateries havent expanded enough to meet demand. This place is a bit of a perfect example. The food is great, but they cant seat the kind of volume thats showing up at their front door. So, lots of disgruntled people with huge parties either walking off in a huff or asking angrily when their huge party will get seated. Getting to the food, we split the "Hungry Texan" breakfast, and holy cow was this thing huge. It wasnt the best food Ive ever tasted, but it was very good and very satisfying. Take whatever you would get at IHOP, and then double the size. You get full cuts of ham, huge portions of hashbrowns, huge pancakes, etc. The food came out hot and fast. Gf and I were stuffed and on our way in a reasonable amount of time given the holiday season and such. We would definitely go back again, but not with a huge group.

Union Street is our go to place! When people come to town to visit and want a suggestion on a place to eat...my husband and I ALWAYS tell people...breakfast at Union Street! This place is the definition of hospitality and the family who owns it...is awesome! I only know them from eating here and watching them work, chatting with them when we pay, and I just know they are a great example of hard work and taking care of people. The food here Is excellent and ALWAYS worth the wait. Honestly...all breakfast places in New Braunfels that are good...have a wait...but this place is the best! Anyone who has rated this place below 4 stars...dont know what theyre talking about. Thank you Union Street for being the #1 place to eat in NB, for many reasons.

Absolutely the best place to eat any time of the day. Mike the owner makes you feel very welcome. The staff delfa and the other ladies that work there give you the same attention. The cooks man I cant say anything negative because Im ALWAYS satisfied. They know how to get down in the kitchen no doubt. This diner is what u call a diner. Extremely happy they are in our town and I hope to see them stick around for a long time. Prices are reasonable. Food quality and quantity is exactly the way it should be. Just gotta give it a try for yourself. I assure you wont be disappointed but if youre not happy then I dont know what to tell you. Other then try it twice. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Please . Thanks yours truly Tammy

Under New Ownership which is why I decided to give it a try again after a very poor experience with the pervious owner. I was very pleased with the food and service. This is a traditional breakfast cafe with eggs/pancakes/ect. I ordered eggs/bacon/biscuit/hashbrowns and it was great. The new owners are committed to ensuring positive customer experiences happen with quality food and friendly service. One of the owners was walking around conversing with every customer to ensure we were happy, he was also helping to bus & clean tables to get waiting guests seated in a more expeditious manner... leading by example. I will be back and also telling others that its AOK to go back again.

My friends and I had been floating the river all morning and were looking for a place to eat. The first place we found required covering over bathing suits, which my friends and I left in the car since we didnt want them to get wet. A lady who was walking in suggested we try Union Street Station, and I am so glad we did. It was 2:30 and they had just closed, but said they would make us something to go. First of all, that is generous in its self. They boxed our lunches, brought them to us, let us use the restroom, and even came to check on us while we were eating. Not to mention, the food was so delicious. I will definitely be going back when I float the river again.

I wish I could give this place 2 ratings. The first time I came was for breakfast and it was delicious. They have a huge selection of omelettes and anything else you could want. I would rate the breakfast at 5 starts for a good home cooking breakfast. My second trip was for lunch and I was not impressed at all. Food was mediocre at best. Several items are not even made in house and some (meatloaf) is not made daily. I had a turkey melt that was very light on the turkey and cheese and overly heavy on the tomatoes. I would rate them a 2 for lunch.

This is a very cute diner with a lot of potential. I ordered the open face roast beef plate because I asked what is their best lunch and the waitress suggested it. The roast beef is just not roasted beef. It is thin, over cooked strips of pre frozen beef. The mashed potatoes are instant as is the brown gravy and both under seasoned. Served over wonder bread. Sadly, their menu is just too large. Quantity has been placed over quality. Very clean, good service, good kids meals, okay burgers. Just really missed the mark for home cooking.

Ive probably had breakfast at Union Station 20 times or more in the last couple of years, and its always been a pleasure. Crowded sometimes? Yes. Have to wait sometimes? Yes. But when I come in after the morning rush and before the lunch rush, I can sit with a friend and discuss whatever over unlimited coffee refills. Wait staff has always been cordial, and the new owner has come over to introduce himself. Food has been great. Ive never been there for lunch, but I cant imagine it being a lot different. It always satisfied.

This is an amazing local diner! Was there with my 2 kiddos. And a big group was seated just before us. Needless to say the kids started to get restless waiting for food. The waitress and owner slipped the kids pancakes ahead so they could eat and not go crazy. So thankful for their reseptiveness to our needs. AND the food was delicious! Fluffy pancakes. Big omelet with lots of filling. And good and crispy hashbrowns. So ready to came back!

Good selection of breakfast and lunch options. Pancakes, waffles and french toast are a staple on the menu. The chicken fried steak and eggs w hash browns w a pancake was more than enough for one person. Coffee was tasty. The place is cozy and parking might be tricky but findable. This place isnt to far from the Comal River. The wait staff was very friendly and smiled. Would highly recommend and a place not to miss for some comfort food.

A true family owned restaurant. Like any family, they may not always seem happy go lucky, but they do always do what is right. In this case, the right thing they do is making sure they deliver good fresh food. While they dont apologize for being a little too small (always busy), they do always give good old fashioned food at a decent price. My hats off for the consistency and quality of this establishment.
