Finding a good sushi bar in south Texas sounded challenging and Tokyo Sushi Bar was up for the challenge. It is a small place but I found it to be comfortable. The sushi was fresh and very well; prepare. The dipping sauces for the salt and peppered calamari were very good, one being a sriracha sauce base and the other a sweet vinegar chili pepper sauce. The hand rolls were large with the sushi throughout the roll and not just on the top. The server was fast courteous and friendly deserving of his tip. If you are down McAllen, Texas way, maybe make some plans to stop by. I am sure you wont be disappointed!

Where have you been all my life ? This restaurant has been here for a while and what a gem that was found. Taste, smells,visually all appealing . Spicy ramen soup is "HOT" & spicey like these soups should be and taste is wonderful. The selection of sushi rolls are plentiful. Service and presentation are good. Saki is available from what I saw but unable to taste at this visit. Setting is a bit dated with minimal decor to set the mood but still feels cozy and inviting.

I had the privilege of attending a birthday dinner. I found the service and food to be excellant. The owner Mr.kim and his staff were very professional and did everything possible to make his customers feel at home. The cuisine that was served and prepared were authentic and very delicious.

Went there for the first time today and was thoroughly impressed. I had the veggie maki and the fortune maki and both were incredibly tasty and were served much faster than any other sushi places have served me. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite to eat.

Sushi was excellent and is worth 5 stars. I went back another night and had the tempura, but that was not so good - 3-star tempura. Definitely go for the sushi, though.
