place was beautiful with nice patio seating. food was spot on and warm Sake was delicious. our waiter was around and served us drinks and food perfectly. this would have been an excellent night except for the fact its a collage kid hang out. girls all around us stunk of over sprayed floral and vanilla perfume. they were rude, stuck up and one asian girl wouldnt stop staring at us. her table mates were even telling her stop she was being rude to a married couple. but she wouldnt stop staring so by the end i stared back with a smirk. made for a very uncomfortable situation and we left instead of eating desert. by the time we left the overwhelming smell of perfume was making us sick. nice place but way too young rude crowd hangs out there. we try new places every thursday night and this was a first bad experience we have had in austin. love the food but I honestly would only do take out instead of dine in. looks like a frat/sororities.

My friend and I went to RA for happy hour. The hostess couldnt have been less interested in what was going on, it seemed like she hated her job and it was obvious she didnt want to be there. She was even chewing gum with her mouth open! The server was not friendly, I think it was because we werent drinking immediately when we got there. After I ordered my drink he was more attentive and slightly more friendly. He didnt write our sushi order down and when it came out incorrect he acted as though that is what we ordered and it wasnt his fault it came out wrong. The sake sangria was super sweet and tasted like juice. I will definitely not go to RA again!

I visited Ra late on a Friday evening. The service was terrible. We were met with an unfriendly host, and gave her our phone number to prompt us when our table was ready (however, there were several empty tables around). We waited at the bar. The bartenders hardly acknowledged our presence. We caught ones attention and ordered two beers, then had to catch the bartenders attention a 2nd time to try to order an appetizer. I fought to get someones attention a 3rd time to ask for a beer glass and was given a short cocktail glass... Our appetizer arrived with no utensils, napkins, or plates. We left.

Great Service, Great food.. We sat at the bar on the outside part. They have a nice patio that looks out on downtown Austin. You can smoke, drink and eat and we did. The bartender was amazing gave great suggestions for sushi, and drinks. She made me a Mango drink, and the guys just kept ordering, and ordering. I think we tried everything they had and it was all amazing. Hint if you don`t want to walk upstairs, there is an elevator to the left, but when we were there it didn`t go to the main, walk in level. if you take the stairs down, then you could get the elevator up.

RA Sushi Bar provides an ideal spot for people clubbing in the 6th & 4th Strees areas to stop for a midnight snack of sushi. The service is classy, and the intuitive wait staff know the perfect balance between attending my needs and leaving my friends and me to our late-night conversation. I like how the space spreads out so that groups can find their own area. The sushi, which is what this place is really all about, is smartly & artistically prepared and incredibly fresh even after midnight.

My friend and I ate here twice last week because we loved it so much! With very mystical atmosphere, and a patio that overlooks the city, it is quite beautiful. The food is AMAZING, we ordered way too much the second time just so we could try everything. The manager Peter was super nice and they always made sure everything was going well! I am addicted to this place. Did I mention they have happy hour? Great new place to dine for any occasion.

The eel in my eel roll tasted like it had went bad. Also the eel sauce was separate when I had it delivered and there was no soy sauce for the other sushi I ordered. I got a Tootsy Maki and the tempura crumbs on the outside of the sushi tasted terrible and over powered the any eel sauce that may have been in there, but maybe they put that on the side too? Very strange and disappointing. Sad that it is so hard to get decent sushi in Austin.

If you genuinely love sushi and are in it for the fresh and delicate taste of fish- this isnt your place. If you like tempura fried rolls with a lot of ingredients on top of them including sauce, you might enjoy RA. Imitation crab or shrimp tempura is in almost every roll, mostly all are covered in eel sauce or spicy mayo. They have a good house salad but there are many other sushi restaurants in Austin to try before RA.

We want to RA during their happy hour. Got 1 appetizer, 4 types of sushi, and 5 different drinks. Split it between 3 people and there was more than enough food and our checks were only $25 each. The food was great. The drinks were awesome. The atmosphere was amazing (cool, windy night as we sat outside and a super chill waitress who checked on us regularly but never interrupted our chats) I will Def be going back again!

They werent very busy when we visited, but it took an extremely long time to get food or drinks. We were there almost 2 hours before an event down the street and had to leave before we got our food we ordered. We ordered an hour earlier and never received. Will probably not go back. Weve never experienced anything like this at any other RA Sushi Bar weve visited (weve been to Houston several times and Vegas twice).

The food tasted pretty good, but the service was slow. Unlike other reviews, didnt have any stomach problems. Ordered the salad with seared tuna, the soft shell crab roll, and some mackerel nigiri. Washed it down with some hot sake and cold beer- The atmosphere is kind of night clubish: dimly lit, good music playing a bit on the loud side. The outdoor seating was great at night when the weather was good.

Hit or miss. First visit enjoyed the happy hour at the bar and got great service. Yesterday we got seated on the patio, waited more than 20 minutes for a server to come. Nothing. Not even an "Ill be with you guys in a moment " It wasnt like the restaurant was busy. Everyone around us seemed to be getting service. Ended up moving to the bar and asked to speak to a manager. All in all lackluster service.

So the atmosphere seems like it would facilitate an interesting dining experience, but the service blows literally. The sushi is not presented appropriately in regards to shape, texture, and consistency. The music is also extremly loud to hold dinning conversations. We also waited on our food for over an hour to arrive at our table. One of the worst restaurants i have experiences here in Austin.

We had a bad experience with the service when we went on our anniversary but when we spoke with Carlo the manager. He was very sweet and he made it his personal goal to turn that experience around! RA Sushi is lucky to have a manager like him! We will be back again because Carlo went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of after we told what happened.
