Heard good things about Miyako so our family of 4 went to check it out. The hostess needed a bit more experience with first time guests. She blurted something we didnt hear over all the televisions and the noisy bar. We finally understood we could be seated in 1 of 3 places. The sushi bar, dining or the hibachi bar. We chose dining, then changed to hibachi for which she told us with exaspiration it would be a 30+ minute wait, so we went back to our first choice, dinning. Miffed by our questions and changes, she showed us to absolutely the worse table in the place. Against the wall in the very back of the dinning area. We were hoping to get a view of the restaurant but it was not to be. We should have asked to change, but didnt want to risk this girls temper. A bad start. The rest of dinner went surprisingly well. Our waiter was calming, thoughtful and attentive. A necessity since we had been rattled by the hostess and the menu was a bit skanty on information. It was good to have a guide. The food was beautifully presented, fresh, on time and served with style. The pork tenderloin was overcooked, not an drop of its juices left, but the chicken was right on the money, tender and juicy. The starters were the best part of the night by far. Dont skip the Rattlesnake Roll. Great for first timers, its a cooked alternative to sushi of tempura shrimp, and crab. 6 pieces was more than enough for our table to sample. It would have made a light meal for one. The soup and salad portion of dinner was also excellent and perfectly portioned. Dinner cost us one Benjamin and we left satisfied without dessert, though I would have liked to have had room to try some. I should make it a rule to never miss dessert! *grin* I am reminded now of a friend who always takes it to go. Smart! My recommendations would be to re-focus marketing to inform dinners better as to the choices Miyako offers, not hire a teenage hostess, move the hostess station to a quieter area, and pump some information into the menu. Some shuffling of the tables to allow for traffic flow in the dining area would be great too. I felt uncomfortable moving between tables of diners who could have knocked elbows if I were not there. The 4 of us tramping through, disturbed dinner at both tables, but there was no clear way around. The place looked large from outside, but inside space was tight where it mattered. For Granbury Texas this place hits it out of the park compared to other dining choices. When you are your only competition it might be a bit harder to see where to improve.

The main feature of Granburys dining scene is the lack of one. The restaurants are usually AWFUL with even worse service. However, Miyako is a welcome change. They have above average food and above average service. Our waitress didnt answer the question "Which sushi is the freshest today?" very well. She said "everything is fresh". That may be true (I seriously doubt it), but what we are looking for is what is exceptional today. I eventually got her to answer the question by asking "what would the chef recommend". She asked the chef and came back with three species, which were all very good. Its not coastal sushi and its not even big city sushi where the supply moves a lot faster than Granbury, but it was very good sushi. We also had some of the teppanyaki and it was all very good, it a little salty. The experience of the teppanyaki grill is fun and the kids enjoyed it. The onion volcano and such are always a fun novelty.

Been coming here for years. Prices are very reasonable at lunch, though they go up a lot for dinner. That said, the portions double, so the value is there for sure. Their fried rice is my favorite of anywhere Ive been. As to rolls, the Rattlesnake and Sunfire are hits. The sashimi is great, but my groups are usually not too into the raw stuff. Service is consistently great. Love this place!

Benihanas right here in Granbury! What a pleasant surprise... Very fresh tasting dishes all over their menu and the always-pleasing teppanyaki grill is fantastic. Well-stocked bar and decent selection of Japanese beers, great sushi a la carte or as a meal and varied menu for regular sit-down type dining. Always crowded, especially on holidays. Reservations recommended.

Hibachi is about the experience and for a first time experience for my kids it was a let down. Food was good, great atmosphere, but the chef was the lamest hibachi chef Ive ever seen. Hibachi food isnt exceptional which is why you go for the entertainment. If you are looking for a good hibachi experience this is not the place to go

I went to Miyakos Restaurant before going to Prom with my friends and my boyfriend. The food was amazing and the chef made the rice into the shape of a heart for my friends and I. It was honestly the best restaurant I have ever been to. I would highly recommend visiting.

The food is great, a little lacking on originality in the sushi department. Tempura here is amazing and so is the chicken teriyaki. Even though the sushi is creatively stifled it is still delicious. Con : The place can fill up fast and they dont take reservations.

The food is great. However when paying for a Hibachi meal I expect the chef to display some showmanship in their culinary skills. The price is a bit steep for the experience you receive

Went here to eat with my girlfriend and son last Saturday night. The service from our waitress Rachel was excellent. Every experience we have with them is above expectations.

It is always good food and good service. The server was able to tell me about the different types of sushi. She gave reccomendations and was very prompt/friendly.

Great food, the guy was amazing with the eggs, if you go someone has to order fried rice. The experience was fun but it was all pretty expensive.

Good sushi Could use a better liquor selection. Wait times are long but not out of line for similar restaurants. Eat here every once and a while.
