I wish I could have given 0 Stars. My husband had a taste for sushi to celebrate his birthday. Id heard the food was good here so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, the short experience we had here was horrible. Upon pulling up there was equipment outside and few cars. So my husband first peeked his head in and asked the front staff person if they were open. He responded that yes the sushi side was open but not the Hibachi. As my husband beckoned for me to come out the car to come in, we noticed a female staff person peering out a window at us. It was clear she did not think we could see her. My first instinct was that we were not welcome there, as I had experienced something similar at a restaurant in the past. My husband waved. Upon entering we were escorted to a booth without any utterance of a word. Once seated, menus were placed in front of us and the waiter asked for our drink order. He then went to the only other customers in the restaurant and socialized and conversed with them for about 5 minutes (yes I checked my phone). He brought back our water and left without giving us the opportunity to ask questions about the menu or order an appetizer. Then he went to the bar and began watching tv. At that time I decided given the poor customer service and lack of care for our business, we would take our money elsewhere. Once I left, I called the restaurant. I asked to speak with a manager and the person explained that he was the manager. I asked his name and his response was "Who is this". I explained that I was a customer that just left the restaurant and could I have his name. He finally said "Jeffery" In fact, after I confirmed, he was also the host/waitperson that sat and waited on us. I asked if I could have contact information for the owner or a corporate number and he explained that was him as well. When I began to explain that we left because of the poor customer service and lack of attention to us as customers, he exclaimed "We do not need your people here!". At that point I realized our mistreatment was based off more than just a staff with bad attitudes, but due to our appearance. I cannot pinpoint if it was our African American race or something else, but I cannot believe the poor treatment we received at this establishment. I will never return nor encourage anyone else to spend your money or time at this restaurant. No food is tasty enough to waste your money on rude, disrespectful owners and staff. I am a Texas State alumni, former employee, current Graduate student and San Marcos resident and will be sure to let all those I associate with in those capacities do give this restaurant any business. We decided to go to Wok n Roll Chinese and Sushi down the street and had a pleasant experience with great customer service, tasty food and the fastest service at an Asian restaurant Ive ever had.

Okay so I was willing to give this place a chance considering all the bad reviews I saw. Now I realize I shouldve stayed away. First of all when we walked in the floor was all sticky and slippery which was really gross. Then when it finally came time for our food to come the chef didnt even say hi or acknowledge us, he just started cooking. Then after the meal there was a problem with the check. She had mixed up mine and my friends and had to go back and redo it and same with the couple that was at our table. But even when she came back she still screwed up the couples check. Trying to charge them for something they didnt order. She just misunderstood what the man had wanted and she tried charging them for it and for something he didnt even eat. All she did was kept arguing with them instead of listening to them. Then once all this was done we finally went home. But only to realize that both my roommate and I felt incredibly sick. Im not sure what it was, my guess is the chicken, but either way it was terrible. I ended up just throwing away my leftovers. Needless to say that was my first and last time going there. I would stay away if I were you.

The manager does not know the definition of Reservation! OK, this was Valentines Day, but we CALLED to make the reservation, they should have told us they were booked!! We arrived for our 8:30 res. and were told the wait would be 20 min. For a reservation! There were apparently 10 parties reserved for 8:30, and they had clearly been waiting for a while. When we got there, she told us we should have shown up 20 min early. Again, for a Reservation! Then it was another 30, then another 20. By the time we got seated and a little soup (which itself was a long wait) we had been there for over 2 hours. Other parties in the place were getting drunk from lack of food, and people started leaving. The manager arrogantly insisted the overbooking was not their fault, but the waitstaff was clearly overworked and the chef near us apologized for lack of tricks because he was so tired. The manager finally gave us a large sake, but by the time we left (and the chef still hadnt shown) it was almost midnight. My husband and I just left after some other patrons started leaving. What a waste of my precious time!! Dont waste yours, spend it with someone you love.

Walk in and wait to be seated. Nice hibachi restaurant and very clean. Prices are average for most entrees, but they are very confident in their Kobe steak. Since the name of the restaurant is Kobe I figured I would give it a shot. It costed $50. The show was alright. The onion soup wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it was pretty good. The fried rice was average as well. I ordered the steak medium rare and received a steak closer to medium. I’ve had Kobe steaks at other hibachi restaurants and this one wasn’t even close to being as tender. I don’t attribute this to being cooked medium either, the steak didn’t even look like the right cut. Definitely not worth the $50 price tag. The chef achieved some perfectly cooked shrimp, but most were a little underdone. Full service 15-20 minute wait from the time you sit to the time he starts cooking (you get soup and salad in between though) Plenty of parking Plenty of tables

I am so very disappointed in the service and food that my friend and I had at this location. The waitress forgot that i ordered rice becuase when I asked her she says "what kind of rice do you want?" and i was like really? I ordered 30 minutes ago!... anyway.. I ordered a shushi roll and it took 30 minutes without the rice that I ordered before. After, I decided to order a plate of noddles and she said to me "ok but cost 4 dollars more". I did not ask her about the price. I felt that she didnt want to serve us because I saw people coming and they already had their plates and i never received my plate of noodles or rice. Almost 2 hours waiting for our food. Me and my friend decided leave this horrible place. This is the worst service I have gotten in my life from a waitress. When I asked for the check, the manager came to our table to apologized but it was too late.
