I have to say, The Mynt is not just ANY Indian restaurant! This place simply ROCKS! My husband is originally from Boston. Some would argue that spicy food is not native to the Bostonians. Be that as it may, he orders his Indian dinners "medicinally hot." Do we get weird stares when he says this? Yes, we do, but the staff at The Mynt accommodates his request and will bring out dishes for him that would peel the paint off of most buildings and make grown men cry. He loves it! Luckily, they respectfully keep my entree completely separate as I am a wimp when it comes to spicy foods. I have yet to try the lunch buffet, which I understand is the same quality food that is served for dinner. I would like to try lunch at The Mynt so that I can sample various dishes and possibly order them at dinner. We love The Mynt!

I go here at least once a month if not more and love it every time! Only sometimes do they not have enough food in their hot plates during lunch for their buffet, but when the hot plate is full, all of the food is fabulous! I love the buffet concept at lunch also b/c many times I have no idea what to order off of an indian food menu, so at a buffet you can try everything and learn what you really like. I especially like the butter chicken with their saffron rice, the fried vegetable balls and the tandoori chicken. And how can you go wrong with their fresh baked naan bread. Mmmmm, yum! The desserts are not to my taste but the food definitely makes up for it, and at a good price too.

Food is okay... We asked for spicey and it was okay... Ambience is good... Usually full so need to make reservation... Service was terrible... We went on a Friday night and the waitors were so eager to close down that they removed our appetizer plates even before we were done... and same sequence would have followed if I had not said..." I am still working on it" when he came back to get our diner plates... He was still able to take away a friends plate while he was still eating... Disgusting!! If you are so eager to close.. You should not seat people.. And just to be clear we got there at 9pm... they dont close till 10.30pm.

The Mynt is an unassuming and quiet (and a bit romantic) spot for some great Indian food. Like Amber India but hate the wait and the parking situation? The Mynt is every bit as good, and so much easier to get in and out of. Some of our favorites: the Butter Chicken is smooth and sweet, the Chicken Tikka Masala is tangy and tasty, and the naan is soft and delicious -- but the best of all is the Goat Biriyani. So, so good. Top it off with a glass of wine and a Mango Lassi and youre all set. The lunch buffet is always solid, but draws a louder, busier crowd. For a quiet, romantic evening out, The Mynt is a solid choice.

We were very disappointed when we took out because they made our lobster dish too spicy (when we asked for it mild) and they made a pretty pitiful looking desert with old blueberries. Also, we ordered the mozzarella and tomato dish and it was incredibly small in portion size (only four tiny balls) for the price. If we were in the restaurant we surely would have complained and they probably would have settled the matter fine. And actually we had eaten in the restaurant previously and had a wonderful experience.

This restaurant charged us gratuity automatically, without mentioning to us that they had added it onto the bill. As this was not clearly communicated to us, we also added a tip manually, basically ending up paying 40% gratuity in total. The restaurant happily accepted the extra tip, and I only realized I had paid extra when arriving at home. Although they promised to remove the extra gratuity, this kind of silent tipping practice is outright unethical and I will not visit this restaurant again.

After a few friends recommended the place to us, a few of us went to have dinner at this place on this Diwali evening. The ambience is average. The Service was pathetic. The food came after at least 50 minutes of us ordering. We were wondering whether they had gone out to catch some chickens or is it the Paneer which they are trying to prepare from milk. The food was average as well. Nothing to go ga ga about really. There are a lot of better options available in this price range around.

I am an indian guy...I like the food to be spicy. Their lunch buffet is not spicy but at the same time it was less greasy and less food coloring as well - hence doesnt bother your stomach much the rest of the day - unlike most of the other Indian restaurants in the bay area. When I go for dinner I ask them to make it spicy and they do it so. The service has been very good ( compared to other indian restaurants around) Overall - Tasty Food and a very good Service

Its ok. Its mostly catered towards Western audience, ie food is mild in spices and slightly bland in taste. For authentic desi food lovers, its ok, ie food might feel slightly less spicy and slightly more raw. I had lunch buffet for $13 plus tax etc. Some waiters seem to be in a super hurry here. Lots of authentic desi places are available in sunnyvale, but if you are in san jose, this might be worth a try especially if you are calorie and spice conscious.

Hidden gem in West San Jose. Good ambience, great chaat, good food, great service and decent prices. Not too crowded, so you can take your time and enjoy the dining experience. Good amount of spice for the Indian palette and everything is fresh and yumm. I must say the panipuri & mango salad in todays lunch buffet was fabulous.. the best I have ever had! The food is authentic Indian and it seems like its been prepared with effort & love!

This is the only Indian restaurant with a good service(with Indian waiters). Waiters here are patient enough to explain the menu and understand your situation. Naan and curries were good. I didnt like the biryani because I prefer only authentic hyderabadi Dum biryani. One creative dessert item I came across is the kulfi inside the orange peels. Pannacotta was not available all the times we went

This is easily the best Indian food in the area. The service is often so-so and on occasion downright amateurish (once I had to wait an hour for bread, despite repeated admonitions). But despite those experiences, I keep going back for seconds. Please note that they cheat on their own reviews (notice how many reviews use the word "ambience"?). But hey, thats just good business sense, I guess.

Food is not good, service suck, I have to approach someone to put the plates on the buffet table. Price is so unreasonable for a poor service and less food. not worth coming back. I asked for the manager and the owner. the waiter said that both are not available. So ridiculous for a business to have no manager or owner in the restaurant. Staff seems to be not happy working for this place.

Upscale environment without being pompous. Super friendly staff that was very attentive. And the food was phenomenal. Mynt lamb shank vandaloo was mind blowingly good. Spicy but not overly lingering or hindering of the ability to taste the food itself. The braised lamb was tender as expected and still maintained some of its own individual flavors with umami applenty. WELL DONE CHEF!!!
