My sweetie and I enjoy a few beers and a burger before a well deserved nap on a Saturday. This place is great for that. Close to home, great selection, pretty good food and Caitlin at the bar is wonderful -- all is great right?? Well, sortof... you see, this site was a test location for the owners (for which I am grateful). The original mangers were hospitable, engaging and really did everything they could to be sure we always had a great experience. Then they opened The Colony store and us poor folks in Lewisville were left with the new manager, Patrick. Im sure Patrick is a skilled worker, but I have yet to see him display any skills that one would expect from a restauranteur. He isnt particularly polite, he never smiles, he is openly rude to the staff (yup, Ive seen it) and worst of all, he lies to his customers. He literally told my wife and I that he had no control over the volume coming out of the speakers in the store. Really?? Like I dont expect there to be a volume control, or a flippin off button? We were the only ones in the store at the time. Since that time, we find ourselves asking if he is there before we sit down. Im sure he is good for something in the operation, but front of house isnt it. At minimum I expect any manager to be respectful of employees. Bar staff is the mainstay for folks like us who spend $100+ a visit and we really dont want to see our pals (servers) berated. Correction and education is part of the managers job but if it cant be done professionally I really dont want to patronize the store. If turnover is a problem in the Lewisville location I may have isolated the issue. Cmon Drunken Donkey owners, you can do better.

I feel like it the service I shouldnt even give it three stars, however the waitress in training, Stephanie was sweet, and the food and drinks were good. This was my first time ever going to drunken Donkey, and we were celebrating my friend 21st. Everything was great until the end. The waitress training our waitress was very rude and disrespectful. I myself am a waitress, and never have I nor have I ever experienced such rude behavior from a server. Once they came and said they were closing, I still had a drink and instead of asking me for the drink, she came and physically snatched it out of my hands while I was taking a sip, and at this time, they were still open, it was not even 1:45. I know they take drinks after a certain time, but damn is all I have to say. It got the attention of every person on the patio and unfortunately I was not the only one who was rubbed wrong by this waitress. Great food, good drinks at a fair price, but as far as the service goes, absolute garbage from most of the staff. Stephanie if you see this, you were amazing.

I wish I could be more upbeat about this place, but unfortunately each visit is inconsistent, though my visits are frequent. Yesterday it took several minutes before my server, Britnea, brought menus and took my order. I was one of 5 patrons in the house at the time. She apologized every few minutes when she ran by. At one point she apologized for the bartender who had to take a bathroom break, so it was another 5 minutes before the first beer arrived. Britnea was inattentive for the most part during my visit. Through all of this was the conspicuous absence of management to lend a helping hand. The corporate office is literally next door. Management would run in and out to do some activity, but it wasnt to help the staff serve the customer. Ive experienced this several times over a 3-4 month period. Im a Flying Saucer fan, and I have to draw comparisons between the two polar opposite operations. On a positive note, the food is generally good and the beer selection is respectable. There are some nice specials many times

How the mighty have fallen. What happened? New faces in here. Not the same bartender nor servers from pervious visits. Same great beers. Glasses not cold though. Ordered wings, Tangy Gold. Bad name, bad description by Kaitlyn. Taste like Honey Mustard with a kick. Sauce is okay but the wing lacked flavor. Rubbery. Not like before You can tell that they dont brine or preseason wing. Interior meat is flavorless. The new girl in trianing was more attentive. Lacked the luster this place had before. :( Not the place it use to be. The guy next ordered a steak, great. He asked for bread after receiving his steak. Great. So they bring it out with no side plate. Now has bread is resting on the bar. Bad, bad. Detail ladies. Its the little things that make this an experience. Bars are one in a million. Lost in the million. Go back to what you were doing back in Jun - Aug 2014. Ill give The COLONY locale a try.

The food is amazing and beer selection is vast. I came in yesterday for happy hour with one of my girlfriends and we sat at the bar for the first time. The bartender with the beard seemed nice until I noticed him continuously playing with his gross pubic-like dual pony tails protruding from his face, then without washing his hands once, makes our drinks and even brings us our food with those same hands. I asked him if the manager allows him to make drinks or serve food without washing his hands first and he replies "lady, I am the manager" we all have beards, its the donkey way". Um no kind sir, that is not how you serve a customer or how you get any kind of return business. Needless to say, we will never sit at the bar again IF we ever go back. Its sad, I really loved that place. But if thats the kinds of things allowed there now, Ill try somewhere else.

Cool after work Happy Hour spot. Not a very diverse crowd on the couple of visits I have had. Cheapest Tequila flight Ive seen in a while. Three shots of Tequila for $9. $3 Fireball and House Tequila shots. Happy Hour appetizer deals as well. The Nachos and Chicken Wings were pretty good. It can get crowded after a while. Ive heard them asking your party to move to a different table or outside but will give you a free round of shots. Waitresses were all nice but of course theyre all trying to earn tips! At times theyre all standing around waiting to pounce on another round of drinks for tips and then at other times you cant find an available waitress because theyre too busy. Need more male eye candy as well!

Beware! Beware! At Two different times , two different server, charged my credit card more than what I authorized. ( I tipped 20% ). When I checked my credit card statement, they charged me more. First time, i didnt mind. During my recent visit, I saved the receipt and I observed, they sneak in the amount once again more than my tip amount(eventhough I tipped 25% this time) For my $5 togo, they charged another $5(total $10) without my knowledge. Not sure how many people check the statement/transaction. I have disputed those charge with my credit card company as I have the proof.
