Its nice place with a nice atmosphere but... Me and my wife have eaten here 3 times in the last 9 months and we are just not impressed by the quality of the food. The 1st time I ordered the "Emporers Platter" and it came out cold. The 2nd try I had the "Steak and Lobster" and it came out overcooked (I ordered medium rare) and my steak and lobster tail were all chopped up! The 3rd time we sat grillside for the show... it was ok... but I had higher expectations from a "premium Japanese steakhouse" with higher prices. If we go back for a 4th time, it will only be because someone else is paying the tab.

Food was good even though the waitress didnt know how to take orders. She messed up on our appetizer and entree. So I didnt tip her and as we left she chased us outside and cursed us out. Yeah very unprofessional. They need new employees and management. I will never come back here again nor will I ever recommend anyone coming here. The staff are just very rude and unprofessional. Also, she took the tip out of my check herself. I will be calling the manager and the bank to get the extra charge taken off.

Sashimi was not fresh and the appetizers came after our sushi arrived--only after we enquired. I think the manager must have had the night off because wait times for food were long for everyone around us even though the restaurant wasnt busy, the hostess was playing with her phone and the grill cooks were behaving unprofessionally. Maybe it was just an off night. Regardless, these guys need a water filtration system or to start serving bottled water to take care of the chlorine in the tap water.

We have eaten here on special occasions for several years weve always had a good experience. Love the steak and shrimp. Ive recently started working in deliver and thus I find my way in to a lot of kitchens. In the area I can say they have a clean kitchen and the behind the scenes prep work is extensive only top quality is accepted. As a delivery vender this is a pain in the rear. However as a customer I appreciate the attention to detail and qualitt in the food prep.

Ive been coming in for the past few months amazing staff! Nathan is by far the best bartender ive had always a great experience when im there. The food was amazing as well everyone needs to try the fried rice and the salmon is amazing too came out perfect! Juan was my waiter and he was the best waiter ive had! The entire waiting staff is perfect all smiles when im there!! Definetly must visit if you havent already!!

Upon entering we were immediately greeted and promptly ushered to a table/hibachi station. Someone came and took our drink and food order. Drinks came out in a very timely manner. Chef Sher was amazing. He was interactive,endearing, and hospitable the whole time. The food was incredible. Everything was done just right and tasted impeccable. I highly recommend Bonzai!

This place is awesome just ate rice and the drink alcohol and its far from water down and daniel San was awesome and the food is fresh and great I can deal with the 18% gratuity well worth the experience will come back again and again. GOOD JOB. I left buzzed and full with only one drink the drink for two.

Fantastic sushi. You can tell they put a lot of effort into their presentation. Great atmosphere. Great staff. People complaining about prices should remember that theyre getting to eat fresh seafood ingredients in the middle of Texas. Bonzai is worth every penny. If you want cheap sushi go to HEB.

Absolutely horrible. Waited an hour for our food then when it finally came, the food was cold. All they did was make excuses. There is no excuse to wait that long and the food be cold. Have been there many times and was very good but with this experience they have lost my business

Waited 20 minutes, no service, the hostess attempted to get me a server. The servers argued over who was going to serve me. I am guessing that I was alone. As I left one of the servers complained that I was leaving. The food is great, but not worth the wait.

Located in the old Mr. Gattis building, the restaurant has an excellent choice of foods to eat, a wonderful atmosphere, hibachi grill cooking right in front of you with a twist of culinary magic and show. Highly recommended.

Todays visit was lacking. Magen used to make sure everything was perfect and cooked right. Today they brought me Mid/well beef tataki, and asking for extra sauce on the side took way too much explanation.

Steak tough and over priced..since they cut it up for you they can call it prime..and use sirloin. Bathroom smelled into dining.
