The oldest waitress doesnt know what the Gyu Don (rice covered with beef) is!!! I saw there is Ten Don (rice covered with fried shrimp) $7.50 on the menu and would like to know if they have Gyu Don. She kept telling me they have Udon and even gave me an attitude like I dont know how to order Japanese food. After I explained to her what Gyu Don is, she said they have Sukiyaki Don but she doesnt know how much. She went to ask a guy and then told me it is $7.50. I ordered one but when I got the invoice, the price was $17.50. For a small bowl of rice covered with beef, onion and konnyaku jelly noodle, it was extremely expensive. I asked her if the price was correct and she insisted that she told me $17.50 and gave me that attitude again. I have been there few times and found the food is not worth the price. Scallop Nigiri: I have tried twice. Both of the scallops were fishy, not fresh enough. Yakisoba: I have tried once. The Soba (Japanese Noodle) was dry and all broken into pieces. Spicy Tuna Roll and Spicy Tuna Hand Roll: I have tried twice. They were too salty and the Japanese Seaweed was soggy (It should be crispy!!!). Even though the ambience feels like authentic Japanese restaurant, don’t expect you will get the food as same in Japan. Anyway, you can go give it a try and see if you like it. If you go, please try the Sukiyaki Don and share you opinion if it is worth $17.50 and hope you don’t get served by the oldest waitress

Nothing is fresh here. Its possibly the worst Japanese restaurant Ive been to in Houston, including Soma where we got food poisoning. They use instant green tea (lumps of green powder were still lazily stuck to the side of the cup - they didnt even bother to stir it) , instant miso soup and instant wasabi. Also instant noodles - they use the cheapest Chinese noodles masquerading as ramen. Ramens not haute cuisine but it shouldnt be this miserable - two pieces of bamboo shoot and a couple thin slivers of pork floating in instant dashi broth. The sushi - is ungodly stale: dry, inedible fish on the cheapest pig rice imaginable (its called pig rice because you dont feed it to humans). Even the tonkatsu, the safest and easiest of dishes to get right, was terrible - soggy, mealy and poorly fried. We sent most of the meal back. The profit margins in this place must be incredible - theres not a single good quality item sold there. The atmosphere, is like that of a McDonalds - noisy and full of children eating low quality, unhealthy food.

Sushi is the only food I eat when I go out. This is my favorite sushi restaurant. I drive so far in order to eat at this restaurant for many reasons. Here are a few: 1. It reminds me of Japan, it is the most authentic Japanese restaurant I have been to in the US. From the Kimonos worn by the staff, to the artwork, I absolutely love the vibe. 2. They always have Ankimo (fish liver) my favorite . I dont even have to ask for it, they automatically serve it to me. 3. The customer service is superb. 4. I do not agree with the review stating that this is average sushi. They might not know how and/or what to order. 5. Typing this review has made me hungry, gotta go.

-One reviewer put 1 star for this restaurant. I think he would complain about his favorite dish prepared by his mother. Anyway. I love this place and I think they are the best in town. They are always nice to me. They want your money though. I have to remember to eat something first otherwise I will end up spending $50+ just for my meal. I have only been disappointed once with the food which was 3 wks ago. the last time I went I felt cheated with chirashi which is sashimi over rice because I had kani(imitation crab meat) and ebi (cooked shrimp) and small pieces of sushi for $21 and i feel it was worth like 8 dollars. I will return after I feel like I have made my money back.

We have been going here for years. We love this place. It is comfortable and unassuming. I am not the biggest fan of sushi, so I leave that for another; however, Ginza seems to only offer what is fresh, and they seem to have a creative selection of offerings. Their cuisine is what keeps us coming back. Their soups are stellar. Their tempura and (sp?) Ake Mon O is consistently great. And I am in love with most of the Sukiyaki and Nabe Mono dishes. They really respect and deliver the udon. All of their pot soups are wonderful. Each time, I want to lick the bowl, but I try to have manners.

Ginza Japanese Restaurant is great ! The staff is friendly and helpful. This was my first time eating ramen and I have to say it was great . The pork belly here is amazing and the bowls are pretty big I couldnt finish mine. You can always take it to go . I had to wait about 20mins to go in but it was worth it . It is a very small place for the clientele they have .

We order from this sushi place at least once a month. It has the feeling of a hole in the wall sushi place but the prices are a bit on the higher end when compared to similar restaurants. The staff is friendly and I never had a bad experience. My only complaint is that given the portions you will probably spend more than 30 dollars to be full.

I love this place. It has a very intimate atmosphere with its small location, and the staff is very helpful and on point. I never had to worry about running out of water, or waiting for my order to be place. In addition, EVEN DURING TAKE OUT, they offered me a water. How many places do that? Oh, and the food is great too :)

It is a very nice place for happy hour. We were in the rush because we wanted to go screening after happy hour, the good thing is the food came very fast. However, it is hard to get the service if you were sitting at the bar. We like the food a lot and we would definitely come back to try the other items.

Dont be fooled by the kimonos and cheap price, nothing is authentic or fresh here... Instant paste miso soup, instant ramen noodle, the tempura looks like its straight out of the frozen food section... The service is overwhelmingly good as if to distract you from the lousy food served! Never going back

A nice neighbourhood restaurant, friendly. Rolls have lots of mayo, jalapeño, avocado ingredients. If you like a fusion sushi, this is the place. Five stars on service. Staffs really care about your experience, which is always nice in any kind of restaurant.
