Superb place. The best bar in rice by a country mile and up there with the best in Houston. Nicely set in Rice Village, its a perfect place to enjoy drinks on a patio after walking round the shops or having a meal locally, or just for their incredible happy hours in the sun. They frequently have live music on and run plenty events, great for sport too. Consistently good food from brunch though to late night snacks. The bar staff are friendly, serving a nice mix of young and old giving it a great atmosphere. The owners care, always there to make sure everyone is looked after and happy, what more can you want? Regularly attend and regularly recommend! If youre looking to escape the havoc of midtown and looking for a more relaxed night in a good atmosphere and nice setting, look no further. Ill be at the bar, you can buy me a drink for the recommendation...

If I lived in town, theyd never get me out the door! This is a wonderful spot, newly remodeled and beautiful! From the bare brick to the wood floors, just walking in the door feels fantastic (nice patio with umbrellas with solar USB chargers...so we can "work"). HD TVs are visible throughout - PERFECT for watching the game of your choice! Bar has great selection of beer on tap (including seasonal favorites). And whiskey is honored as the gift it is. Staff overflows with Irish hospitality! Smiles abound, and find a way to have Sarah be your server. Try the stout burger for SURE, and guard the herbed fries - as friends will swipe after the first taste. And the butterscotch chocolate chip cookies have a light texture you wont believe. Dont miss! An incredible find! Ill be back as often as Im in Houston.

Great beer selection and often have live Irish music! Also, used to be called Brian Oneills, so there is a running club that meets here 5:30-7:30pm on Tuesdays. Its not a traditional running club, but more of motivation to run the loop at least once a week on Tuesdays. Supposedly in the glory days that had free pasta dinners and free Gatorade, I have never seen this so perhaps it grew too large. But, there are still perks: - $5 dinner at Gorgeous Gael after your run (grilled chicken plus two healthy veggie sides) - Log 10 runs and get a free shirt (Supposedly if you wear free shirt on Tuesday you get a free beer) -Log 100 runs and get $100 Amazon gift card - Lots of nice people running this club!

Terrible service. It took over 15 minutes to just get a drink order on a seemingly slow Friday night (about half the tables were empty with a spotty bar top). The girl who sat us ended up circling back after deciding our waitress had too many tables. Had a few other waitresses walk by a number of times over the 15 minutes. Food was pretty good. I got the Shepherds Pie and it was mostly mash potatoes without a lot of stew. Friend got the beef stew which was a more generous portion with nice tender need cutlets. Beer selection is lacking. Go across the street if you want anything but your standard fair of Guinness, Smithwicks or Bass.

This place is a loud sports bar. The whole description of it being Irish is total BS. IT IS NOT A IRISH BAR. Its a okay sports bar. And its loud. My bartender was good and attentive. But she did mess up my check by first giving me someone elses credit card and then charging me for an extra beer I never ordered. They had good happy hour beer and appetizer options. I was very disappointed with the Shepherds Pie. You cannot call yourself an Irish bar and have such a garbage Shepherds Pie. So, if you are looking for a sports bar experience with bar food, this place is fine. But dont go here for a Irish Bar experience.

The Gael is now the life and soul of Rice village. The atmosphere is great and the staff very personable, it feels like a local with a sense of community even in the city. They hold plenty of events, great for watching sports, brilliant live acoustic sets on the patio every Friday evening, and long happy hours with some hard to beat specials everyday. The owners are Irish and theyve turned this beautiful bar into a true gem, even if its hard to understand their accent, they always greet you with a smile. Highly recommended for a group or a couple, whatever the age. Keep it up guys!

Happy hour prices were ok but their sundried tomato Parmesan artichoke dip was the worst ever. It was not advertised as a spicy dish and smelled like old nasty feet on top of that. Service was decent but the server was unsympathetic about me not being able to eat spicy food. Also they are definitly not even close to being an Irish bar. The only Irish thing in there was Jameson whiskey. Never coming here again.

From out of town looking for a pub for some good beer and shepherds pie. Sat down outside waited 10 minutes no wait staff even glances my way. Finally someone comes over I ask for menu and beer list, never see him again. Far more of a restaurant vibe than a real Pub. If you want a REAL PUB head south 2 buildings to the GINGER MAN (about 1 minute away) like I did. Great Beer selection and GOOD WAIT STAFF

Gorgeous Gael is a great place to get drinks and break bread. Open, spacious, most awesome staff and management, I can go on. The food is great for a quick bite. Nothing crazy fancy but fun! Crowd is a bit young at night but they so show EPL games in the daytime. The local Liverpool fan club has watch parties here. The area is very conducive to bar hopping.

I used to hang out here when it was Brien ONeals. The atmosphere is completely different now and it seems more geared towards a younger crowd. Loud music inside but you can always sit outside if youre trying to talk to someone. Drink specials are decent and sometimes if youre there with a large group on a slow night theyll give out free drinks

I sometimes go here to watch soccer matches weekend mornings. The bartenders are quick and pleasant (even in the morning) and the food is good. Its clean, brightly lit bar with lots of tables. You can sit or stand if you like. If you want someplace that feels family friendly and bright then come to the Gael!

Came here for an event and it was pretty cool. They had a huge variety of beers to choose from. The atmosphere was nice, too. Definitely a good place to be to chill out with friends or take someone out on a casual date. This area, in general, is pretty nice.

Ordered one drink, the bartender kept my change for his tip and just walked away totally ignoring me. I did not tell him to keep the change. There are too many other options within walking distance for the staff to be doing stuff like this.

Houston Liverpool headquarters! Love this place. Good breakfast, friendly people, and they often have some sort of free breakfast or rolls on gameday. YNWA. I even saw an Arsenal jersey wearing fan get served here quite promptly.

Great place to relax and get a beer. Good beer selection. I was here in the afternoon/evening, so Im not sure what its like at night. I liked it because it felt like a pub, not a sports bar or cocktail bar or anything else.
