We dropped in before a Dynamo game, wanted a beer and some light snack. It was far from crowded, only 1/2 tables were occupied. The one decent micro beer they have was empty kegged. No decent alternatives in bottles either. Waitress did not even know what beer they had without having to make return trip. Oh, and despite the place being hardly even occupied, it look about 15 minutes to get 4 beers delivered to our table. Strike one. Ordered nachos, and some chips and queso for our group to snack on. When the chips came, the chips were cold, the salsa was completely tasteless and not at all spicy (this is Texas right?). Worst of all, the cheese was - unbelievably - watered down at least 50%. It was disgusting, and although a bit hungry it was barely eatable. The Nacho plate had melted cheese and was a bit better, but also very light on toppings, small. Strike two. When I mentioned the gross cheese to the waitress, she shrugged her shoulders and acted like she didnt care what the food was like. Although not a big cost bill here, the experience was bad. Terrible service, terrible food, horrible training of staff. Only the location was good. Strike Three!! Dont go here. You will be sorry.

Dingy, filthy, ugly, dirty, arid, old and dank bar atmosphere. Awful terrible nose curling wretched smell of septic tank odor year round, a smell similar to when somebody just got done going to the bathroom. Outside has a gut wrenching rotten garbage smell. Hideously rude and nightmarish staff. They treat you like a nuisance, there is no "Hello, how are you, may I help you" etc. They will not smile, and will make you feel as unwelcome as possible. Youll notice how much the employees love talking and smiling with each other, then suddenly lose all joy, personality, and warmth once they are forced to help a guest. Overpriced food quality is equivalent to what you would find in the freezer aisle at the grocery store. Absolutely lousy waiting staff, not very tentative. They spend more time texting and taking with other employees than they do refilling your drinks and checking if everything is ok. Bar tender / waitresses are completely rude they will insult you, call you names and threaten to sue you if you complain about the terrible customer service and extremely poor attitudes.

Maybe its better on a game day but on my visit it sucked! Not even 5 people in the place and I couldnt get service, ordered vodka tonic got vodka soda, ordered bacon cheese burger with everything, got cheeseburger without onions or mayo. Had to go to the counter to ask for everything. Worst part was trying to check out, bartender didnt know how to use the computer, ran my card for someone elses check, took more than an hour to get our check right. This happened to at least two other parties while we were there. The manager called (not present) and said the charges were reversed, Ill believe that when I see it. Everyone there had a horrible time checking out. Manager should have at least comped something or invited us back for a better experience but she didnt. We will never go back! Maybe they put real servers on during game days but dont care about any other day. If they cant handle5 customers how are they going to handle 100?

Absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! Had no idea if it was open seating or not. Me and a friend stood there waiting for about 15 until we just decided to sit down. The bar was almost dead and no one came over to take a drink order for about 45 minutes. We were thinking about leaving until i went and got the waitresses attention and asked her if we could order. A solid ten minutes later she came and got our drinks and food order. The beer was the only thing that we got correct. We both got "original burgers with cheese and all condiments but no onion. They came bare with just cheese. To finish it off, she couldnt get my card to run at first (plenty of funds so dont think that) and instead of telling me, she ran it 7 times and locked my account out. I had to pay with my emergency credit card. If i could rate it 0 out of 5 i would. Thanks for nothing Home Plate. I hope clientele see this crap instead of "Nostalgia"

This is the worst place! Went there yesterday after the game. Head banger music first of all. Hard to get a server to take the food order. Food was burnt when it arrived! I ordered drinks at the bar and was overcharged ! When I ask the bartender to refund one of my drinks she refused. Told her if she didnt I would not tip her so I didnt ! Then when I waiting out front to get my ride she come out and starts yelling at me! Tells me u was ordering doubles , which I NEVER did! She didnt even wait on me anyway! How are you still open!!! I have a good mind to dispute the charge w my credit card company. At the waitresses there were thugs !

The bartender was cursing at a customer!! The customer had been waiting to speak to a manager for a while until he decided to approach the bar. All the bartenders were extremely rude to him. I asked for a Zigenbock and was told that there was none. I asked for a Shiner Bock and a fat bartender told me that I was already told there was none and that they only had what was on the wall. She then accused me of never saying I asked for a Shiner instead of just serving me. The service has always been awful and the food mediocre

#1Over $5 for a Coors lite in a can. #2 plastic forks. #3 pee all of over the toilet, no toilet seat covers in any stall, 2nd stall has crooked seat so your legs end up.unded the toilet paper despenser. #4 marinara was funny and thing. #5 chicken had too much pepper. #6 service was subpar. #7 poor food selections. #8 baseball case has faded autographs and priced outrageous. #9 servers butt was hanging out of her shorts. #10 server wearing a skinny tank top, unsanitary and a health code violation.

Dont waste your time going here. Our server Devin is officially the worst server weve ever had. We went before the game tonight and waited 26 minutes for Sams club nachos made with canned liquid cheese (menu states melted cheese) bag tortilla chips and crap pico and sour cream frozen patty hamburgers Took 15 minutes to receive our drinks each time. This was 2 hours before the game and it wasnt close to being packed. Absolutely the worst place weve ever been to and we travel to many places!!!!!

Rudest and unfriendliest restaurant in downtown Houston. The lady who runs it appears to be mad at the world. Always gives you unwelcome feeling. Be sure to check Facebook reviews before patronizing. The fact this place is usually 98% EMPTY on weekdays around lunch in downtown Houston is a red flag by itself and I will definitely not be returning. Only an Astros baseball game will get ppl in there because its across the street.

No one greeted us at the door. Had to walk around like an idiot until we found a spot to sit. The place wasnt overly crowded, but you could tell they were pushing near fire code capacity. There should be someone to manage tables when its crowded like this. Had to flag down a waitress. Once we got a waitress though, the service was friendly and the food was very good. Nice atmosphere, people were having a genuine good time.
