They say the those small “hole in the wall” type places are the best. You know the ones that are family owned and have that authentic menu unlike no other. One of these identities apply to The Breakfast Klub and believe me, a hole in the wall type establishment is far from what it is. Located on the corner of Travis street, in Dallas,Texas, is where this restaurant resides. To the left of the restaurant there is a fancy apartment building, and across there lays several businesses that connect to each other. The atmosphere is really busy with a lot of traffic coming through on every side of the building. I guess this is due to its location being in the inner city where traffic is always heavy. The parking lot is full of cars so some had to park on the street. The building has a constructed brick foundations, with a yellow bright roof that shined in the sun and added to the peaceful vibe of the surrounding area. On the side of the building is black art work that added to the culture of the city. As you waited in line music played from speakers placed in the outside ceiling. This music not only created ,but added to the peaceful southern hospitality energy that was given off by not only the people of the city but mainly the workers of the establishment. The customer service was outstanding. Even though the line goes up around the corner of the business, you are given your menu while youre in line and by the time you have gotten to the front, your food is already made. As you pay for your meal they give you a plastic cup as one of the waiters with their sweet southern accents leads you to the fountain drink dispenser. Here, you can get your choice of several different soda drinks or juices. As you go sit down, your food is being brought to you at the table. With so many famous plates to choose from its hard to decide what to actually get. With the restaurant being family owned you feel welcomed coming through the door. Wood floor, tables, chairs, and columns organize most of the structure of the building. With the paintings, devised of numerous erotic colors, that are placed on the wall and the dark wood structures that flourish throughout the establishment, you get a southern louisiana type atmosphere. From there menu you really cant go wrong. From the famous chicken wings and waffles, which is highly recommended when visiting, to breakfast sandwiches and omelets, they have everything you could ever ask of. From the kitchen you could smell all types of spices and delicious aromas floating in the air. The signature “Katfish & grits” came steaming hot and fresh on my plate. This mass of fish takes up a good half of the plate. For around a price of 20 dollars, this type of size guarantees for you to get full. Placed on top of the fish was a freshly cut tomato slice. This can be served with your choice of potatoes which will make you fall in love or eggs, which can be cooked however you decide. Also, it comes with your choice of a biscuit or toast. Knowing how restaurants are in todays world, you would think they would give you small pieces of fried potatoes, but no on this plate you will receive large chunks of potatoes that are so well seasoned and flavored that they leave a spicy sensation in your mouth to give you that spicy taste, but not enough to make you in need of something to quench your thirst. The eggs, which arrived scrambled, were well seasoned and hot. The grits, which take up another big chunk of your plate, are fresh and give you a home cooked meal sensation in every bite. As you finish your meal and walk out of this beautiful restaurant, there are people with table stands, selling home made cheesecakes that you cant resist. If you get to visit The Breakfast Klub you will have an experience like no other. The culture, the vibe, and the atmosphere that is given here are all concepts that you really dont get at your average restaurant.

After seriously over-indulging myself at the Breakfast Klub, all I could think of was what a gluttonous piggy I was. I couldnt breathe and my eyes were tearing up because of how I stuffed my face but I would do it all over again if I had the company because it was just so chicken-lickin good. You may have noted that there is a really long line out the door of this place, but the line moves really quickly and their good hospitality starts from the outside-in. There is water and coffee you can have while cruising through the line and employees are always there handing out menus and assisting with any recommendations. In no time my guest and I were inside ordering our food and we definitely indulged ourselves: - Wings & Waffles: Juiciest, most delicious wings I have ever had. These babies were perfection. Crispy crunch on the outside, not too much batter, amazing flavor and juice on the inside. The kind of juice that dribbles down your chin because its so good. The waffles were pretty good. Ive never been a waffle girl so Im not really one to judge. - Biskits & Gravy: My heart aches just thinking about the biscuits and gravy. I could drink that gravy straight, therefore how appropriate is it that they serve it in a cappuccino cup. The biscuits were fluffy, flaky, and the perfect vehicle to get all that flavorful gravy from plate to mouth. Screw coffee. Get gravy. - Pankakes w/ 2 Eggs, Sausage, Bakon, and Ham: The pancakes were seriously tasty and also fluffy. I dont remember the sausage very much, but the bacon was exactly how I like it: crispy, but not too crispy and the fat was perfectly crisped to where it melted in my mouth. The ham was very nice too, not like the crap youd get at Dennys. The service was speedy and just the epitome of southern hospitality. The sinfully delicious food is worth waiting two hours for, but luckily it only took about 5-10 minutes, the same amount of time I would have waited at any sit-down restaurant. Im going to have to revisit the Breakfast Klub very soon and get a new laptop, because after writing this review Im not sure how Ill get all the drool off my keyboard.

The food hit the table almost before did, literally fasted delivery of food I have ever experienced. And the flavors in every bite, brought back memories, truly delicious. Note: I do not use the word "delicious" lightly or often. The staff greeted us at the door, showed us the menu, as they want you to know what you want to eat by the time you get to the registers. You order and pay first, collect all your own drinks, utensils, napkins, syrups & condiments yourself prior to reaching your table. Which took us all of a minute maybe two tops, food is delivered lightening fast, as perfectly cooked as one can get, with the steam still rising from it. The art on the walls was transfixing. Just a wonderful experience. I had the catfish and grits platter. Huge serving of all portions. My husband had the chicken and waffles...we tried food each others, and both meals were excellent. It met, and possibly exceeded, the hype. I would recommend this place to others. Note: Apparently, there is normally a long long wait...but the day we came there was only one group ahead of us. But we were alerted by others, that the line before you enter the building is usually long, and since it is, you need to know what you will eat rather quickly after receiving the menu at the door, quickly gather items you will need off to the left side area before entering the dining area, seat yourself, eat and move on your way, so the line that is normally outside can continue moving. It isnt NORMALLY a sit and chat for a while kind of place. But that said, now that I have tasted the food, I could care less, if I were to wait a while outside and even slightly rushed. Which no one said the employees actually do...its more of a polite convenience to the other customers like yourself who may be waiting outside trying to get out of whatever weather Texas is experiencing at the moment.
