Conveniently located in Jackson Square, Stanley is a diner that loves white: white paint, white shirts, white hats, which creates a unique sterile look. The staff is comprised of mostly younger people (college-aged), who are friendly, competent, and responsive. I had the omelet sandwich, described on the menu as "Eggs, Smoked Ham, Smoked Bacon, American Cheese, Grilled Sweet Onions, and Spicy Mayonnaise on Toasted Whole Grain Bread", paired with a coffee. I loved everything about this sandwich -- one of the better breakfast sandwiches Ive ever had. Id estimate this to be a two egg sandwich, with the eggs folded over omelet-style around some well-smoked meats and other ingredients. The mayonnaise mixed well with the cheese and the onions, making things a bit gooey, but with a very satisfying tangy-ness. The whole grain toast were perfect bookends, and gave the sandwich more crunch than plain white bread have. My only complaint about this meal was the coffee, which was too bitter, likely due to over-extraction. While not a transcendent breakfast (by New Orleans standards), this was an excellent meal for the price, and decidedly NOT a rip-off like so many other French Quarter restaurants tend to be.

First restaurant I visited on a trip to New Orleans and I couldnt be more impressed. My family visited at what was surely primetime for brunch, 10am or so. They told us that itd be a ~45 minute wait and took our name and phone number. We received a text to download an app that would keep us appraised of our place in the queue then we were notified after about 25 minutes and seated as soon as we returned from shopping in the nearby Jackson Square. The staff was very timely and friendly, offering plenty of suggestions from the menu and later suggestions of other restaurants/stores to visit after we left. I enjoyed a great Stanley benedict, which had fried oysters and poached eggs with an absolutely sublime hollandaise. Also enjoyed a very slick bloody mary that had delicious pickled green beans in it. My only complaint could be with the prices at Stanley, but as compared to other places in the general area along with the upscale feel to the interior/menu/conduct of staff it felt reasonable.

Stanley is my absolute favourite restaurant! The gumbo is to die for!! The best in New Orleans!!!!! The staff is all very friendly. I am there regularly. I love all the sandwiches and the breakfast menu is awesome too and everything on the menu is served all day. Hours are everyday 7am-10pm for the main restaurant. The Service Bar next door is open 9am-5pm daily. You may purchase soft drinks, snowballs, bottled beer, ice cream cones, and limited sandwiches there, the service bar has a limited menu from the main restaurant. The ice cream and cones are house made. You cant be in New Orleans and NOT eat at Stanley!!!!!!!!! Get outa town now, if you arent planning to dine here!!!!!!!!!! The best in New Orleans by far. A zillion star rating!!!!!!!! I love me my Stanley!!!!!! Go now!!!!!!!!! Or regret missing out on sucu awesomeness!!!!!!!!!!! :)

So its my sister and I last day in beautiful and amazing NOLA. We decided to have our final meal here as the reviews suggested it was a great place. Intially when we entered the hostess already seemed annoyed that we were there. She told us it would be a 15 minute wait max. She made a "reservation" for us. Instead of asking us to wait outside, she told us. Meanwhile during our wait two more groups of two who came after us were seated immediately. Weird how those reservations work...when were called in she told us that our table wasnt ready and wed have to wait longer? Not sure why they called us in? We obviously left as I who has worked in customer service for over 10 years would never make the customer feel like a burden as she made us feel. This is by far the worst service Ive received anywhere by just walking through the front door.

We stopped in for breakfast on Sunday morning before going to church at the St. Louis Cathedral since its literally only feet away. We were able to walk right in and got a nice table by the window looking out onto Jackson Square. I ordered the corned beef hash which was pastrami, corned beef, and cajun potatoes topped with 2 poached eggs and creole hollandaise. The hash by itself was excellent, but the creole hollandaise was to die for. The eggs were perfectly poached and put together, it was the best hash Ive ever had. My wife got scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast which was also perfectly cooked. The portion sizes for both of us were very large and neither of us was able to finish everything on the plate. If youre in Jackson Square and want to grab some great food for a lot less than itd cost to go to Muriels, give Stanley a shot.

The service was fast and friendly here, with an overall good atmosphere; however, Im not very impressed with the quality of food or coffee. I ordered a simple breakfast albeit, the "Stanley Classic"--eggs, toast, bacon and potatoes (I did try my wifes fried soft-shell crab, and it tasted rather bland). However, it still wasnt much better then your Dennys diner food, especially not for the price. The coffee wasnt very good, although to be fair, my wife did like it. I felt like this a type of place that gets attention because of its proximity to Jackson Square and the French Quarter, but is in reality an overblown diner with subpar food. Id say save your time and money and find a place with an interesting menu that isnt just a tourist attraction.

Sorry to say we did not actually eat here... Didnt make it that far. I started the day excited to try a delicious New Orleans style breakfast. When we arrived there was no line. My husband smiled at the hostess and said good morning. She ignored him, turned, and walked over to a table. When we hesitated she curtly said, " thats your seat" and walked away. We were startled by the unfriendly greeting, but decided to stay and give it a chance. After waiting awhile with no one coming to bring coffee or take an order, we gave up and went somewhere else for breakfast. Sorry to miss the good food we read about on some other reviews, but a nice greeting goes a long way towards making a pleasurable restaurant experience!

My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast and were NOT disappointed. Omg! It was AMAZING! First off, our server, Sindy, was FANTASTIC! She didnt wait for our water and coffee to be halfway before she refilled. She was polite and constantly asking if there was anything she could do for us. Good job, Sindy! You were a breath of fresh air! Second, the food came out within MINUTES! I mean, seriously, we barely finished putting sugar and cream in our coffees when it came out. And OMG, was the presentation great! I had the Bananas Foster French Toast and my boyfriend had the Corned Beef Hash. The portions were big and flavor was to die for! Ill be coming back next time Im in NOLA! Keep up the great work guys!

Even though it gets crowded in here, they were still able to quickly accommodate a group of 6, while 4 or so tables were taken up by a rather large bachelorette party. Our waiter was super nice and friendly with great suggestions as to what we should get to eat and drink. The French Toast they had was out of this world delicious. I think some of the best Ive ever had. the Ice cream was what really put it over the edge of being great French Toast. the Cajun potatoes were a nice side to pick at as well. Bloody Marys were a nice addition to my meal as well. Will definitely need to hit this place up if you are in the area and wanting a good breakfast or brunch.
