I LOVE this restaurant! I am a regular here. I enjoy the Thai buffet and being able to dine on a variety of dishes. The sushi alone is of good quality and its a buffet! Price is very affordable for the quality as well. Quality is not the best Ive had, but for the price and buffet its very worth it. They have a variety of dishes as well: fried foods, various rice dishes (fried, brown, white), various meat dishes, various curries. I also like their shrimp, which you can peel and enjoy with a variety of sauces. I especially like the shrimp with lemon and sriracha sauce. The staff is always accommodating too. I have come here with large groups and we are always comfortable. When I come alone they are always polite about placing me where I like to sit (next to the TV). The TV is CC, so dont worry about CNN blasting political news while you dine. tl;dr - great price for decent food. Not highest quality Thai food, but still definitely worth it.

My friend and I tried this place reluctantly because we didnt "believe in" buffet for Thai food. But both of us were pleasantly surprised. The food was gourmet. Is it as fine as a fine-dining Thai restaurant? No. But it is not far off. It doesnt have the usual downsides of a buffet place: non-fresh, greasy, and simple dishes. On the contrary, many of the dishes were exquisite and tasteful. I particularly liked the tofu dishes. The radish noodle dish tasted like tofu, not radish, which dish I actually liked the most. The restaurant seems to be run by some humble, simple Asian Americans who just want to serve up some good Thai/Asian food. BTW, they dont have Kirin Ichiban Japanese beer if you happen to drink that. But they have typical American beers. You should at least try it once. Im not from Houston. Are many buffets in Houston like this one?

Some of the food like the pad thai tasted like it was reheated, like the oils were starting to separate from the noodles. I tasted the fried rice and found it to be very oily and not well cooked. The curries I tried out were very watery, not as creamy. The third one I tried with the tofu, the one that was darker than redder than the rest, tasted very foul. I came home feeling bloated and not very good. As of this writing at night, I still feel this way. Oh yeah, they hardly ever refilled my water, and every time they passed me by, they didnt bother to ask. They did once, but I was already leaving. Just go to the Thai Spice on Kelvin.

The place is clean and the wait staff is friendly and efficient. The food is not that good. The "sushi" is a dry roll of rice with little meat or vegetables. One is offered a small set of food options apart from sushi. I went today at dinner time and with a few patrons in the restaurant the trays would be empty before fresh food come. Some people had to go an pick something else. The taste of the food was either salty, greasy, or spicy. Thai food is more than that. But if you want to stuff yourself, for the price it is not that bad.

A disappointing experience. The food was luke warm. The choices limited which caused the price to seem somewhat hefty. While the service wasnt necessarily bad, it wasnt very good either. I would not recommend anyone to this restaurant for the price you can find a more authenic and appetizing thai experience elsewhere. If you prefer overseasoned luke warm food and enticing descriptions written over the bowls under the heat lamps (such as "white fish") i would highly recomend it.

Its not authentic thai food at all.its more like Chinese and Japanese food. The wait staff couldnt speak or understand English very well. He tried and has good attitude and enthusiastic to serve his customer well though. I asked for a fresh cut chilli,.. they dont have it. Thai restaurant with no fresh chilli... that sums it up. To be fair, the shrimp fried rice, though did not taste anything thai at all was delicious.

Seriously, in the middle of town, near the interstection of Voss and Westheimer, sits this peaceful little restaurant. The energy is really, really good in there. The buffet is varied and divine, and do not miss the coconut soft-serve ice cream. It is quite good, too. I go here at least once a week, usually at lunchtime. The staff is wonderful and the food quite good.

I live right across the street, always wanted to try this place and finally did. You wont believe what happened. I called for delivery, got my food, which wasnt that good to begin with. My girlfriend goes to read her fortune cookie, diggs into the bag, and out jumps a ROACH! Thanks Thai Spice Buffet, but I didnt order a side of ROACH with my Sweet and Spicy Cihicken!!!!

Its a great and affordable place when youre craving Thai food. They offer a wide variety and best of all its all you can eat. Its not the absolute best but good enough to have when you are not sure you want to just have one thai dish. The Thai tea is delicious and the service is surprisingly good. There seems to be many families that come here on the weekends.

Sushi and Thai buffet. Excellent food! The tempura sushi was ridiculous good. On Saturdays they put out the last food on the buffet around 2:00pm so go at that time or shortly after for the freshest options. The restaurant was clean, but the bathrooms were not; and there were were only minor maintenance issues I noticed. Overall worth the visit.

Food was satisfying enough, and the variety was definitely there. My girlfriend and I both got the feeling that we were being rushed out. It was a combination of anxious glances from the servers and having the check brought to us on the first plate 10 minutes in without asking for it. There were still plenty of seats for other patrons.

Go at the busiest time. Buffets are best when busy. Food comes out fast and is fresh. Sure, when its slow, you are sure to be seated and be able to hit the buffet without a wait. But how long has the food been waiting with you? The food here is good when they are busy. I have been here between rushes and during a rush more than once.

Really great buffet...but you have to go early as soon as they open for lunch or like around 5:30 or 6:00 pm for dinner. Thats when the food is the freshest...the service is o.k., not spectacular. Had both good and bad experiences with wait staff...but the flavor and selection of items is excellent. Ive been coming here for years.

Old Food on buffet: We went there around 3:30 pm and they had alot of old food that had been out for many hours. We look at it and left because it was gross looking. I think the health code requires these guys to rotate the food every 30 minutes. That stuff had been there simmering for many hours.

Ohhhh My: The good: They had food- Service seemed responsive- didnt burn down The bad: All around pretty bland thai food.... just kind of dreary Thai food. Most of the dishes are "Asian inspired" more Chinese fast food than Thai... Just "Meh" food. Would skip it.

consumers beware Thai Spice II charges weekend prices on Monday and any other holiday that falls during the week. They will not post this on their establishment. IF u have visited this place for lunch you have just been over charged. Will be filling with the BBB.
