I was pet sitting in Grogans Mill and Namaste was my favorite accidental find of the whole week. I was at the red light right next to their restaurant and decided to take the right so the people behind me with their blinkers on could go on with their day. I saw their sign (and that they closed in an hour) and thought of the Paneer Masala and Naan my blogger friend used to make me when I visited her in California. So I parked, found Paneer Masala and Naan on the menu, and chatted with Hema and then Jitu while I waited on my order. Super friendly couple (Hema and I would totally hang out if I lived over here). The Paneer Masala, basmati rice, and naan were flavorful and perfect. Spicy with spices, but not heat (which is what that mild dish should be like according to my friend, lol). It fed me for a dinner and the leftovers covered a late lunch/early dinner 2 days later. Still delicious reheated (obviously not as perfect, but still great!). Im going back for their lunch buffet sometime Im in the area again. It was indeed a happy accident to find them! Thank you, Hema and Jitu for hanging out!

We were excited to try this place (Amarvati) as it had been changed from Namaste. There havent been really good Indian restaurants around spring area so we thought to give it a try. We ordered 3 items and all of them were so terrible that we ended up not eating any of it and ordered pizza as we had guests over. The saag paneer (spinach with cottage cheese) was so creamy and tasted like it was spoiled. Usually theres is only touch of cream in saag but this was all cream with touch of saag. Couldnt taste saag at all. Paneer was so rubbery to chew it. Veg Manchurian was like tossed in ketchup only. There was no other flavor, veggies were over cooked. The only decent item I would say was dal tadka...and that too didnt have any tadka flavor just boiled dal which was bland. Their food is definitely not for Indians. Even if they are trying to modify it for American taste, i wish they would stick to some authentic Indian flavors to their dishes. I have been to too many Indian places around Houston area to know how these items should taste like. Will definitely not go back to this restaurant.

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. I heard today that it gas changed management and I dont see that this is for the better. The food today was just o.k. The creamed spinach should have been called watery spinach as it was very runny with little spinach. The food was spicier than normal and they didnt have goat. The creamy vegetables were replaced with another vegetable mix at was not as good. After we were seated and got our drinks and bread, the waiter never came back. Imagine a plate of spicy food with no refills on your drink. I may give them one more try in a few weeks to see if it gets better but will definitely be looking for another restaurant. Mediocre food and poor wait staff. I heard that they still gave the same chef but I find that hard to believe based on the quality of the food.

So Im going to have to say 2 stars because they didnt get my order right and the paratha was ok at best and the wait time for my to go order and the check. For starters, I told them I wanted Butter Chicken and Poori together and I would like the Paratha to go. What I got was Butter Chicken that wasnt very buttery but more like Tandor and Masala combined and Paratha. Plus the "paratha" came when I was almost done with the chicken. Never got the Poori and was told I said I wanted the Poori to go. Whatever. Im not impressed. Ever since it changed hands the food has lacked in quality and accuracy. I wont be coming back anytime soon. Sorry. I waited for over 10 minutes just to have the check brought and my to go order which I found out had been finished awhile ago. Never will I come back.

Im rating them 4 stars simply because the food was very good. This was our second visit here and the service was sub standard at best. We had to ask for utensils from another waiter. We repeatedly asked for rice and naan as well as our appetizer. Our waitress may have been new, not sure. Well try Namaste one more time and hope for better service. If its as awful as it was this evening we will not return. We spent a sizable amount for family of four and service nearly ruined our entire experience here. We hope this was a one time thing, because we truly loved the food.

Looked at the reviews online and thought that it was a good restaurant. But a complete dissapointment, in both food and service. First of all, the owner and the waiters did not attend us in the right order. There were 3 other guests that came after us, and their order was taken before us. Probably because the owner "thought" that they will spend more money than us. And there was definate discrimination. Then when the food csne, it was a bigger dissaponitment. I have eaten better food at a self-serv stand-in place than this restsurant. Never going back to this place.

Food tastes great, probably one of the best Indian restaurants in the greater houston area, with respect to taste. I live minutes from this place and can definitively say after several experiences that the horrible staff and customer service almost makes you never want to dine in. Also, order on the phone as quickly as you can, because if youre on the phone longer than 30 seconds and ask more than 1 question, the staff becomes increasingly impatient and rude. I love the taste of the food here, but often choose somewhere else to go due to horrible customer service.

Had the lunch buffet, and it was good as any Ive had. The 3 chicken dishes, curry, butter, and tandoori, were all good. They had several vegetarian dishes, the mixed veg curry, saag, daal/lentils, pakoras, masala rice, and veg korma were good. The best item, was the fresh naan bread, warm, light, soft, and just the right amount of butter. The spice level was mild, but all the dishes were a little different. They also had various condiments, chutneys and dips, including sliced hot peppers, to make dishes hotter.

This place is a little off the beaten path but worth your while. Ive only tried the lunch buffet, but the flavors are excellent. The selection isnt vast, but there is plenty of incentive to go back for seconds (or thirds). The only dish I did not enjoy was the rice pudding, as it had a very strong floral taste that kept me from finishing the small amount that I had sampled. The lunch buffet is reasonably priced and is definitely a viable option for a quick and delicious lunch.

My wife I love this place. We have never gone to an indian restaurant so frequent and yet we find ourselves going to namaste atleast twice a week. The staff is so friendly and attentive and the food is delicious and they give you a decent quantity. My wife and I love the Dosa, that is what we go there for, but at times when Dosa is not available we are perfectly fine ordering from the menu. One more thing, I have never had Samosas as good as Namaste.
