My husband and I have been going Seoul Garden for more than 4 years. But today, we were very disappointed. 1st) the receptionist didnt organized which party came earlier, so it was a kinda confusing. 2nd) finally, after we set down the table, we ordered food we usually do. But when we got the food, I immediately noticed the Galbi was too less than usual. 3rd) the # of banchan were also very less than usual. So I asked a server if we had the right set of banchan. She said yes. Actually, it was OK even if we had less banchan because we usually dont finish them. But I noticed the server lied to us after I checked other tables. 4th) we couldnt have spring onion salad until we finished Galbi even though we asked them a couple of time for it. Today because it is Jan 1st 2017??, there were so many large non Korean group. It looked like the servers had to take care of non Koreans first...? Or maybe the servers thought because we are the same Koreans like them, we would understand better the circumstance although we had less service?. Or, because we were 2 people, we were not that important than lager group? The ladies in the restaurant were normally nice and they even know us specially my husband because he goes there with his clients a lot and he is a good tipper. Today, we decided we stop going the Seoul Garden for while. 2 stars for our 4 years with them.

I think its telling that most of the time when I go here, at least half the crowd are clearly Korean people. Dont know how you can get a much better endorsement than that. Seen a fair number of other reviewers in here complaining that the service was slow or unfriendly ... Ive been here a number of different times of the day and days of the week, and have never run into that. Admittedly, there can be small language issues at times, but how hard is it to point at the menu and get something delicious brought to your table? Food comes out quickly, and is always accompanied by delicious miso soup and a staggering array of small sides. I swear to you, my wife and I went there, ordered one appetizer (ALWAYS the zucchini pancake!) and one main, and there were *sixteen* dishes on the table when we were done. Even at an average of $17-20 per plate, I dont know how theyre staying open. But they are! Been here for a couple of decades at least. I love the quaintness of the little bridge and mill wheel as you enter ... hope they stay for a few decades more.

I use to eat here quiet often when I lived in that area food was always great service was always good also. Only 1 thing happened here but it was not anything the servers could have helped but in 1995 they were robbed awhile I was there and all of us were put in the walk in freezer unit. Lucky for us one of the waitresses sneaked out to one of the other shops and called the police so when the robbers were leaving they almost hit head on with the police. We recovered everything that was taken which was great the same day. The police told us to go home they would contact us. I ask so you are telling us to drive without our drivers license. He later said to sit tight they would get everything to us. If it would have been 5 minutes later we would have been gone but it was a strange feeling having a gun cocked in your face. That did not stop me from going back as I am white American and love yook gae jang!!!

This place is actually quite authentic in its cuisine - just got back from having late lunch there. The food choices are plentiful (for both the grill and entrées) and the service is as good as is normal for the culture. I recommend it. The bad rep its getting on the older reviews is probably from a misunderstanding about Korean service. That is, unlike U.S. restaurants where the waiter/waitress comes by every five minutes to check on their customers, Korean service is very "hands off"; they bring your food and leave you alone to enjoy it. Tip: If you need something, there is a button on/near the table that you press to get a waiter/waitress. I also disagree with the idea that if youre not Korean, they will treat you poorly; my husband is a white American and Im a Hispanic and we had no trouble getting attention when we needed it.

I really like this place. I love the waterwheel and the bridge at the entry - reminds me of going to fancy places when I was a child - and the rest of the decor is great too, with the wooden dividers and the bells to ring for service. And as for the food - excellent. The zucchini pancake is a must-order for us and then its just a matter of what else to make up the difference! I like all the rice dishes served in the hot stone bowls - the rice gets so delightfully crispy - and the sides (a very generous number) that come with every meal are always good too. Ive had the BBQ a few times and enjoyed it but actually think the other items on the menu are better. (Oh, and the oranges that come with your bill are a lovely end to the meal, and are unfailingly sweet. I dont know where they get them but Id like to know!).

Its pretty average in terms of the food. I found that the preparation of the food was quite uneven. There were some items that were overcooked to the point of being almost burnt, while other items such as my noodles were undercooked and rather stiff. Basically, lack of attention to detail. Part of the draw of this location is getting one of the booths where the food is cooked in front of you, but aside from that, the overall facility is rather dated. The servers are generally quite nice, but the management seems eager to get you in and out of there. I also thought it was interesting that they were in such a hurry that they asked me what I wanted before I had even received a menu! Overall, not terrible, but Ive experienced and tasted much better.

I have been going to Seoul Garden for 7 years now, This quality is amazing. Customer service is usually very good. I did bring a friend for her first time, I know i dont at the Kim-chi so i usually ask them not to bring it out but since it was my friends first time trying Korean BBQ I let them bring it out so she could try it to see if she liked it. She did not, so when it was left on the table the waitress said we were so wasteful. Did not appreciate the comment from a usually outstanding place. I will still continue to go since this place has the best Korean BBQ Ive tried but maybe tell your servers not to make rude comments like this.

If you dont look, speak Korean..dont expect good service here.Im half Korean and puerto rican and I speak Korean pretty well.they looked at my like Im crazy when ordering and the service sucks really badly. Im surprised they are still in buiness.food is decent, they dont even give you enough meat for what the price is! Your better off going to the Korean market and making it your damn self. Anyways dont waste your time or your money please! Across the street from soul garden is another restuart similar to it and they have better food, service.but the price is still iffy.good luck to anyone that goes to seoul garden!
